The officer was in the right place at the right time in Boston's wealthy Back Bay neighborhood Saturday evening when two people being chased by the knife-wielding man fled into the restaurant fearing for their lives. The cop identified himself and ordered the suspect to drop his knife. When the armed maniac didn't comply, the officer shot him. The long answer is that they view criminals as oppressed. Nobody would do bad unless they were driven to it by oppressors, that's the genuine theory that the left works under. My understanding is that California is one of the best states as fat as self defense goes, mostly due to court decisions. Not only do they currently have "stand your ground," but you are authorized to chase them down. If an attacker retreats due to your using self defense, you may actually chase after them and continue the engagement if you can show that they were still a danger, (unless I am misunderstanding Andrew Branca/ Law of Self Defense.)

Russia is forcing the pace, if they need to slow down they can slow down any time. Ukraine can't advance, they have lost virtually all offensive capability and the Russians dig in to avoid counterattacks. In fact the Stavka likes an attack...it gets the Ukrainians out of long built defenses and out in the open.
The British Times did a years long project to estimate Russian losses by counting graves and funeral notices. They consistently saw losses similar to what Russia reported itself. Russia probably knew that any lying would just be exposed by the West.
The Times group recently abandoned the counting and just report about triple what they used to when the study was going.

A) GOPe would be going its own way if Trump was unpopular, B) there would be massive demonstrations if the leftist claims were popular, C) Democrat donors would be flooding the Dems with Donations. If you work in the private sector the government assumes this sort of low quality data is there to allow fraud and will audit you and almost certainly fine/arrest you even if you can honestly say "oh its just an old screwed up system"

Errors are really common with this sort of data. It’s not hard to prevent the SSA database from getting duplicates, but they obviously didn’t care. “Not my department.”
Fraud is obviously a part of it. But almost nobody committing fraud is going to intentionally use a birthday hundreds of years in the past. It’s just sloppiness. Nobody’s verifying the data makes sense.
A lot of systems run that way. Bank of America just debited somebody’s bank account 81 trillion dollars. Whoopsie!

I had the identical social security number as a guy also named Christopher Taylor except for ONE digit, 1 point off. I paid his damned school loan for like six months before we caught the error. I kept getting nastygrams about not paying my loan. He lived in Washington State, I am in Oregon.
That's the kind of stuff you read in a book and go "dude, write better, that's unrealistic."

It is not unusual to find multiple names attached to a single SSN. In some cases, there are ten or more. And this is data only within a single state.
This information does not touch on the possibility that more than one person is using the same name and SSN, though oddly enough to avoid the dreaded 35 hour maximum to be considered full time and be quallified for employer provided health insurance, there are some people who are working under multiple SSN or names.
In Oregon most of those were Spanish names
aslo, as an aside, 600 range of SSN are usually for green card and naturalized citizens, and 900 range are for ITIN. SSA has certain ranges of numbers they do not issue in for some reason.

I know how that MIGHT have happened, sort of. When the bank closes an account and lock it (like, if someone dies), they will apply a negative balance to the account to the tune of trillions. So the account reads like "-$38,293,332,554,000. When my brother died, I checked his account to make sure it was secured and something like that came up with was... concerning. The banker explained that was to make sure absolutely nothing coming in could possibly collect on it.
So maybe something related to that???

You’re assuming every entry was added sequentially by a computer, but they were not. The system is nearly a century old. SSNs are now randomly assigned, but up until a little over a decade ago they were assigned by region. A lot of this was done on paper, or ancient computer systems. Multiple sources of wonky and inconsistent data.
Anyone who thinks there’s a SQL database at the SSA that was just been getting incremented by 1 for the last 80 years doesn’t understand how these systems actually work.
