Welcome to March. I think we are having the biggest snow storm of the year. In like a lion, out like a lamb and no lunch like a Zelenskyy.

Before we get into the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Manitowish Waters)

1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate.
2) Be kind, be nice. And no, you can't use the couch as the top rope at an AWA event.
3) No running with sharp objects. Unless you have cash and/or Obamacare.

requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.
Prayer Requests:
12/14 – Jewells is still in a lot of pain. The drain was put in on 12/11. She was supposed to receive a sedative and medication for pain while they worked, and she received nothing. She felt everything and it hurt like hell. It also hurts when it is being drained, and that is daily for the first week. She has a great home health nurse coming in now, and she has shown Jewell’s daughter and husband how to do it.
1/31 Update – The excruciating pain in her left arm was because it was broken. The brittleness of her bones from chemo caused the break to spontaneously occur. It now has a splint.
1/4 – Smell the Glove asked for prayers for an 80 year old aunt. The aunt was diagnosed with colon cancer and started treatment this week.
2/22 Update – Prayers for all of the Horde and their loved ones in need. The aunt is still hanging in there. Thanks for the prayers.
1/4 – vmom deport deport deport asked for prayers for her eldest sister. It looks like her illness is cancer.
1/12 Update – Please keep praying. Her sister has stage 4 breast cancer.
1/30 Update – Her sister has gone to her eternal rest. Please pray for her soul and for the consolation of her daughters.
1/11 – Our Country is Screwed asked for prayers. He is having a double mastectomy. (He notes: Yes, male breast cancer is a thing!) He is fortunate that it appears to be localized. Another request is for an aunt (age 70+) who is facing lung cancer and having part of her lung removed. She is scared and needs prayers too.
2/15 Update – Our Country is Screwed send thanks to everyone here for their thoughts and prayers as he continues his cancer treatment. Radiation treatment is almost a definite, and chemo is still TBD. There is no way he could have gotten through this thus far without God’s healing power and everyone’s prayers. Thank you.
1/15 – Sponge gave an update on his wife. She met with the radiation oncologist, and he used the word “cure”, so she is pretty happy about that. She has a couple more chemo treatments to go.
2/13 Update – His wife got a reprieve from the oncologist and does NOT need to get the last round of chemo. She will start the process of radiation prep next week, and may start the 19 rounds next week as well.
1/18 – FenelonSpoke asked for prayers for Chris, the new husband of a friend of hers. They have been married since the summer, and are nice conservatives and Catholics. He is hospitalized with a high fever and urinary issues, which he has had a long time.
1/25 Update – Chris came home on 1/20. He is doing better. The infection was removed by IV antibiotics, but the doctors still need to determine why he’s having excessive urination – up to 20 times a night – which is exhausting for them both. Continued prayers are appreciated.
1/18 – Jrgunn77 requested prayers for health, which was fine a few months ago, but recently has been his with extremely high BP spikes, anxiety attacks, constant headaches, and hernia troubles. Jrgunn is on meds for the BP and anxiety, scheduled for a colonoscopy, and has referrals for a cardiologist and neurologist. These out of the blue anxieties are the worst. Jrgunn also asked for prayers for a friend from church, Rodney, who has recently suffered lung failure and is on oxygen, to come home from the hospital, and Pastor Ben and his brother, for comfort after the passing of their little sister from drug addiction.
2/11 Update – Jrgunn77 is still stuck at home, trying to recovery from pneumonia. Rodney, his friend from church, is in a bad way. His lungs have begun stiffening and his ability to breathe is severely compromised. His only hope is a lung transplant. He is sedated, and surrounded by his family. In times like these, it’s difficult to know how to pray, but please do.
1/18 - Teresa in Fort Worth said she could use some more Horde prayers. She had a CT scan on Monday. The largest tumor has not increased, but at least 4 others have quadrupled in volume, despite 2 rounds of chemo. Her third round of chemo stats on Wednesday. So far, she’s had exceptionally light nausea which has been controlled with medication, which is a blessing.
2/12 Update – Teresa got the results of her tumor marker test back. After stopping the chemo (which wasn’t working), and after 2 weeks of targeted gene therapy, her markers have dropped way down! This means the therapy is working!
2/15 Update – Teresa posted good news and bad news. The good news is that her new medication is working – her tumor marker test levels have dropped a lot (from 596 to 34.. The bad news is that she is experiencing one of the side effects of this medication – blurred vision. They are going to stop with the meds for 2 weeks, and see if her vision improves, she can go back on a lower dosage of the medication. Her next CT scan is in April.
1/25 – Sal asked for prayers for a couple he volunteers with. The husband, a retired pastor, has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. They are both in their mid-80s and surgery is not an option for him.
2/15 Update – Please continue prayers for Pastor Bill, who is very discouraged with the complications from his tests and procedures, and for his wife, who is his main caregiver at home.
1/25 – Grammie Winger asks for prayers that everything goes well, as Rev finally has his colostomy reversed this week.
2/19 Update – Rev is back in the hospital. At his follow-up appointment on 2/18, the surgeon sent him to ER. They said he had AFib and his blood pressure was bad, 80/39. Grammie Winger would appreciate prayers.
2/22 Rev is back home from hospitalization 2.0. They send thanks for the prayers.
1/30 – KT had asked for prayers as she had a stroke earlier in the week. She is still at the hospital be feels very lucky, considering what happened.
2/8 Update – KT is home from the hospital now and feeling grateful. She posted that her GP said to light a candle to God, because He saved her life. There don’t seem to be many after-effects from the stroke. She will need to keep working on staying healthy.
1/31 – BurtTC posted that his son, who had Down Syndrome, had died. BurtTC tried to give him as good a life as possible. It wasn’t a protracted illness, but he was expected to recover. BurtTC says that he doesn’t believe his son needs prayers; God now has the purest of souls to hold and protect. Please pray for those of us who knew and loved him. The loss is immeasurable. BurtTC asks that instead of condolences, that you would hold close those you love, and be kind to each other.
1/31 – From about that time asked for prayers for a SIL, who was suddenly terminated from the only job he’s held in his adult lifetime, with the second child on the way. Please pray it works out for the best.
1/31 – Tonypete asked for prayers for his wife’s buddy Barb, who is either bi-polar or manic depressive and doesn’t know it. She is a disaster and very unhappy. Prayers for healing would be greatly appreciated.
1/31 – Just Sayin posted that s/he has brain cancer and will be gone soon, and asked that the Horde keep fighting the good fight.
1/31 – L asked for prayers for her daughter, Shannon, who is scheduled for surgery on 3/11. She will be traveling to Cleveland on 2/27 for a pre-op meeting. She will be staying in town for the weeks before the operation, so they will have some time together. (As a Franciscan sister, she has spent much of the last 20 years in other states.) L thanks the Horde for their prayers. Shannon’s community will be praying, as well.
1/31 – Bif Bewalski gave an update on Smash. The blood work confirmed that she does not have pancreatitis. They gave her fluids, 3 types of digestive system meds via IV, and then ignored her for 8 hours. Anyway, she is home and feeling better.
2/7 – Weird Dave requested prayers for his sister, Susan, who had a major heart attack.
2/13 Update – Weird Dave posted his thanks for their prayers for his sister. She passed away, and her organs have already saved several other lives. You’ll never know how much all of y’all’s support means to his family.
2/8 – Sock Monkey posted that his family needs some serious prayers. He didn’t want to get into details, but his daughter and 5 grandchildren are now living with them. There is abuse and addiction involved.
2/8 – MammaB asked for prayers. She said she needs surgery, and has been preparing for it for several months, jumping through the hoops put up by the clinic and insurance. Last Wed. she was told everything was complete and she could have surgery in 8-10 weeks. On 2/7, the surgeon’s office threw up another roadblock, one that is very difficult to manage. She is feeling discouraged and asks for the Horde’s prayers.
2/8 – Pollywog the Ette asked for prayers for Inspector. He injured his rotator cuff last weekend, and even with muscle relaxants and narcotics he gets muscle spasms every time he tries to lay down. That means he’s had to sleep in a chair all week, so he isn’t sleeping well. It’s also making his feet and legs swell, which is bad. Besides the pain, he hasn’t been able to work for a full week because it’s his right arm that’s injured and he can’t type – even if he could sit in his office chair. Please pray for healing and continued forbearance by his employer. Mostly what he wants right now is to be able to sleep.
2/15 – FenelonSpoke requested prayers. She thinks that the church hierarchy is wanting her out, so they can close her church and take the money from the sale of the land (which technically belongs to the denomination anyway). They are a small congregation, but they love one another. Even if the denomination doesn’t close the church, a new pastor would not be helpful at this point.
2/15 – Cannibal Bob posted his thanks, to God and the Prayer Warriors here. He had posted under the name “Diddly Squat” about severe pain in his legs, and it was sent on to the prayer list. After several misdiagnoses, he was told he would probably lose his leg above the calf. After more research, Heidi found a genius surgeon in Albuquerque. Cannibal Bob has had surgery and will continue to have full use of his leg. He says he is convinced it is due to the Prayer Warriors here. Thank you all. God is great, and so are you.
2/15 – Ben Had asked for continued prayers for Jim Sunk New Dawn. He hasn’t been on the ONT for a while now.
2/22 Update – Doof heard from Jim SND and posted an update. Jim SND says he is doing OK and is in good spirits, all things considered. He’s just struggling to keep up with things here on the blog due to physical limitations. Doof plans to keep checking on him. Jim SND definitely appreciates our prayers and support.
2/15 – screaming in digital posted an update on her mother. Mom was deemed eligible for LTC benefits after 1 appeal. (Thanks again to Grateful for advice in bolstering the appeal!) She submitted the first claim a couple of weeks ago. She hasn’t received the funds yet, but the online system says it was approved. They are looking at assisted living options now. Screaming in digital realizes Mom can’t live with her indefinitely, despite her continued sweetness and (usual) cheerfulness.
2/18 – Teresa in Fort Worth asked for prayers for her husband’s niece, Amanda, who has just been put on the waiting list for another new heart. After 4 years with her first donor heart, her body is starting to reject it. She is only 40 years old, and has had heart issues her entire adult life. Please pray that Amanda’s body would stay well long enough for her to have another transplant. And also prayers for the family of this as-yet-unknown donor. Amanda knows full well what her receiving a new heart “means” to the donor family.
2/22 – Tonypete requested prayers for his wife’s friend. The friend’s pos husband of 30 years died 3 years ago. He was a real monster. She’s relieved he’s gone but has all sorts of feelings of inadequacy and a wasted life. Ugh.
2/22 – neverenoughcaffiene asked that we keep 3 week old Isaac in our prayers. RSV has him intubated and in the ICU. His parents and 5 sisters could use a few prayers as well.
2/22 – NaughtyPine requested prayers for the children that were rescued in Pontiac, Michigan, after their mother abandoned them for years. Not only do they need prayers, but also the mother (to repent) and family members who were put off by her lies and despise themselves for not doing more.
2/22 – J asked for prayers for help. He has been on probation for almost 8 years, and is very frustrated by it all. He has worked hard to improve himself and follows all the rules and restrictions, and he is tired by being demeaned and being treated as subhuman.
2/27 – Ciampino’s daughter asked for prayers for Ciampino. They are not sure what is wrong yet, but they had to call an ambulance to take him to the hospital. He was very weak and couldn’t walk or even stand up. The hospital has been giving him fluids, and he is more responsive now. Thank you for the prayers.

14 Good morning one and all. Got an email from my mother yesterday. A friend of hers passed away from esophageal cancer. My mom's comment:

His son told me it will be a typical Jewish burial -- prayers, dirt, a few more prayers and done. There is a celebration of his life here tomorrow. Adam and I agree that euphemisms are stupid so when he called he said, Dad is dead. 'Nuf said.

18 I've got some great news to share: Offspring #1 is a shiny new federal employee and he did not get laid off. His agency made the announcement Thursday and the only two people who lost their jobs were administrative assistants.

He set his mind to do this kind of work years ago. A bachelor's degree didn't get him the offers he wanted, so he continued on with a master's, although not in the exact field. But it's a local college and he could continue working at the grocery store while he pursued it, targeting the coursework the agency would want.
It took a few more years.
Then last May I watched him walk across the stage and I've never felt so proud. Oh, did I mention there's no debt? There's no debt. And the RAV4 is paid for.

Then he began to apply for GS-9 positions in places he thought would be unpopular. He actually received two offers and turned down Guam. He accepted one where it's, um, rather cold.
He uprooted his entire life to start this new career on December 2nd which of course means he's a probationary employee.
It's been very stressful and not much sleep, but it would appear his job is safe.
So thankful.

I keep re-watching it because there is so much going on. Right now I'm just picking a person, and watching them throughout, seeing them talk, but then listen. It's remarkable to see all this in the open.

I think the biggest takeaway is the powerful presence of Trump. He dominates the space completely. Normally you see him a rally, or sparring with reporters, but he's really holding the reins the entire time, even when he is sitting there silently, taking in what is being said. The whole thing was impromptu, and he let it run until he was done and the way he closed "great television!" showed he knew exactly what he was doing, like the conductor of an orchestra, or maybe a band leader doing an improv take.

33 If you're the praying type, I'd appreciate some for my mother who is continuing to suffer terribly from a botched medical procedure back in mid-December.

She was rushed from her rehab facility very early yesterday morning to an ER and, later, back to the original hospital that had turned her into a crumpled heap. My elderly father and I are doing our best to support her and each other but we're in pretty strung out shape.

As a bonus, this is happening just as the new administration has banned remote work. Thus, I've begun looking for a new job in the area as it's pretty apparent that my FMLA leave will not last long enough to see her come home. My father has his own existing medical issues to worry about so I'm not comfortable leaving them in this condition. Though, if I'm honest with myself, it's very likely that mom's going to die at the hospital.

I think the traditional rituals are more helpful. It is human to grieve, it is part of love to feel loss. It is good to take time to feel one's own mortality and know that time is fleeting.

55 Smash update after four more weeks. Still having some pretty distressing abdominal and digestive issues. Gastro specialist appt isn't until the 3rd week of March and that's just the newbie patient appointment. She doesn't run a low grade fever anymore, butnshe is very sensitive to getting chilled. Most food she'll tolerate is maybe half a fist in size, and soft easy to digest. Still produces swelling, gas bloating, and lots of middle school sophomoric noise.

So something isn't right digestive wise. We'll see as the specialists get engaged.

It makes more sense in retrospect. They were grinning because they were in on the joke. Bondi also giving a silly smile and saying "maybe tomorrow" repeatedly the night before.

The people with binders were told to embargo anything until the demand letter was released, which is all you really need to know. The delay was in getting that letter fully prepped.

It's been widely known the FBI was rogue, and known for quite a while. There was no need to have a reason to clean house. The rank and file knew this. They acted predictably.

I think the Ukraine war is a tough one for Normies to get over. On the surface, it looks a lot like the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq; naked aggression, defeated by a unified alliance of free nations. A US-Ukraine deal over rare minerals will help ensure the peace better than any NATO treaty, as we'd now have real skin in the game of Ukraine. (Not just secret bioweapon labs). And, for the USA it helps plug a strategic gap in rare minerals that China was planning to exploit. Win, win baby!

An Serbian Orthodox friend of mine recently passed suddenly. His death was a shock to everyone. The funeral ritual was beautiful and very direct, and almost forces those gathered to confront death head on. It was very moving.

A few weeks ago I asked for prayers for my niece husband T. Early thirties and had a minor heart attack. He has recovered and there was only minimal damage. Thank you for the prayers.

Hubbymayhem is battling kidney stones and a UTI. He came home Wednesday night feeling rotten and is still feeling bad enough to call out sick from work today. The antibiotics are going along with Tylenol. He's probably had this for awhile but the urology center didn't catch it. They did scans for stones and bladder cancer instead of a simple urine culture. This group always seems to start with the more expensive option before going the simple way.
If they don't fix him soon I'm gonna cut a bitch.
Any prayers for him will be appreciated.

I don't know what you're trying to say. The way it works is, MLB says "you're banned for life," then the Hall says "MLB says you're banned for life, that makes you ineligible for the Hall."

I was amazed: in less than 1 full tour in Vietnam, he had 5 campaign stars and 1 Fleet Marine Amphibious Landing dolphin (He was career Navy officer and a Sea-Bee). He was severely wounded and nearly lost a leg in a rocket attack. Lots of awards for bravery -- I had no idea, I was a kid when he deployed in 1969.

We're going to do a service for my son in a couple months. We settled on that date, due to people's travel issues.

The service will be held where he grew up, but that means there's been no formal service here, where he died. It's been a weird experience, the real pain comes every time I'm thinking of mundane things, and I remember he's not here for me to deal with.

I collect baseball cards, and now have quite a huge collection, including most cards for most of the HOF'ers of the modern era. The HOF cards are in separate boxes from the ordinary players.

Whatever works for you, of course, it just seemed from your earlier post that you were seeking closure and the extended wait for the service was impacting that.

Whenever someone in the family has died, I put a Mass intention in for them, and it helps to hear that during the service, particularly because there were a couple of times we couldn't make the actual funeral, so that was our substitute.

I'm good. Going to Dana Farber Cancer Institute this coming week for their input on my cancer. Should have a direction on next steps by end of the week. Radiation is definite. Chemo is the quesiton. I'm guessing I'll need both. The cancer was caught in time and prognosis right now looks great. It's a lot of stress for Mrs OCiS and its starting to show.

I can't thank everyone hear enough for the thoughts and prayers. Prayer works. My daughter, who had her own cancer battle last year, and now me with my cancer -- that there is no way we could have gotten through all of this without prayers. God's will be done, I'll get through this.

My SiL had my brother's memorial six weeks after his death, but it took that long to reserve a venue large enough for everyone who would want to come.
But that was an exception, and I agree with you.

Thank you all for the thoughts on funerals. I am trying to decide what plans to make for myself, to get it done.
There are many things to work out, primarily from my being the only Catholic in my family.
I'll figure it out, but appreciate the input.

My father called this week to tell me my stepmother is going into an assisted care facility. I've been expecting it for a long time, but he didn't want to do it. Kept trying in-home care, but she is so impaired that she will sit in the same chair for two days.

The decisive point was insurance said that the constant ambulance calls were unsupportable and the doctors see no point to putting it off, so that's now a thing.

When the weather breaks, I will drive down and start clearing the place out a bit. That was her job until she was stricken. I expect this to be a process rather than an event, but on the plus side we can see him more because her condition meant he couldn't travel or have guests.

216 My mom passed during the height of the covid op in May 2020. There was no ceremony permitted. Not even at her internment. I've not gone back to the retirement community she was living at to see if there's any sort of memorial like there is for all the other residents who've passed there.

My younger brother passed in October 2023. His wife, for whatever reasons did not want to have a ceremony for him. No mention of his passing was ever published.

It's weird. Like they were never here. I've more or less come to terms with all that. Not happy that it went down that way, but it is what it is.

I've seen all manner of approaches, from a year-later luncheon to same-week Mass. I prefer the latter and that is what I want.

My parents don't share my faith, but I will have a Mass said for each of them anyway, just as I did for my brother-in-law and my wife's parents. I'll probably play "Taps" over Dad, just as I did for my grandfathers.

From what I understand, it isn't irreversible. I mean, I think some people have it due to genetic factors, having nothing to do with behavior, but I was of the impression if you DID change your diet, and lose weight, it could be improved to where you no longer have the designation.

I could be wrong though.

We cannot do otherwise. Our major direct threat is from China these days, not Russia and that requires a naval/air/space strategy--not a large army designed to fight a continental war. We cannot afford all of the above strategy so have to have an expeditionary sized army/marines and a stronger navy/air/space presence if we plan on having a credible deterrent to China.

Even within those parameters, the Navy is going to have to reconfigure its ships and strategy as will the airforce. Drones, missiles, robotics, and AI are the future of warfare which necessitates major changes in procurement.

Jerry Pournelle and Stefan Possony wrote The Strategy of Technology. Still not out of date and current war planners should read it.

My father has had it for about 40 years or so. I wondered if I would get it, but I'm well past the age it manifested in him. (I got the pirate claw hand instead).

With treatment its not that big of a deal these days. They have gizmos and sensors and stuff to make monitoring blood sugar really easy. He flung himself into biking and lost a lot of weight, which helped.

Yep, I know two people who were diagnosed as diabetic that were able to change that due to diet and exercise. My understanding is that they are not "cured" but they no longer have to take medication or have treatment for diabetes.

But even if it had the track record of success it lacks, we should never have been in it. When it was founded, America was already a world class power. Premiere nations like us, and Russia, and now even China can't be restrained by lesser lights. We're the big boys. History makers, not history takers. History makers form their own pacts with client states.

He's never been on the ballot because the HOF said that anyone on the MLB Permanently Ineligible list would not be considered for admission. It made official what was known but unofficial. The same thing keeps Joe Jackson out. Rose agreed to be placed on the list. Since he admitted the charges were true, there's no reason to reinstate him.

To be fair, Cold War NATO was far more responsible. Countries with much smaller economies and populations were able to field pretty massive forces by today's standards, which is so infuriating. They took ALL of the peace dividend, and expect us to keep their borders secure.

The Army need only about 100,000 active duty soldiers, mostly consisting of support/training garrison units and a small expeditionary corps. Buff up the reserves to 500,000, which should be easy without stupid zombie overseas rotations disrupting work and family life.

The failure of the League of Nations is an example. Best that something like the UN is regressed back to only purely diplomatic functions--no resolutions, no attempts at world government, no committees, etc.

Still sponsor a World Court for countries that agree to submit disputes to it but no attempts to enforce treaties, etc. It should not be a panoply of a pseudo technocratic world order but instead a place where conversations can be made between nations that may be enemies may find peace together.

When I was diagnosed with type II diabetes ten plus years ago, my doctor told me my fate was sealed; I would die of a heart attack. Yeah, maybe, but if you've got to have an incurable fatal disease, diabetes is the one to have. I was insulin dependent for a while but worked hard and got off the I. Even if you are insulin dependent, what with insulin pens, even that is not terrible.

P.S. I can think of worse ways to go than a heart attack.

I totally agree. The Army makes sense to have a cadre and reserve system which is much more affordable. Given the risks to tanks, etc. from a drone filled battlefield, it makes more sense to actually seriously reconsider army weapons procurement, training, and strategies in light of what is going on in Ukraine.

It is far easier to build up an army given the time afforded to us by oceans than the technical services like the Air Force, Space Force, and Navy.

There are multiple things that can help deal with type 2: Losing weight, diet, and meds and suppliments,

Losing weight is hard, but it will be good to do, there are a lot of things that will help like diet and exercise.
Diet is tied in with losing weight.
Meds are there too, they will give you metformin to get it under control. An alternative is Berberine (the studies call for 500mg three times a day, I take 500mg twice a day with a compound that uses Chromium picolinate) but it may not work as drastically as Metformin.
Metformin may make you put on weight since it helps clear glucose by turning it into fat, so some diet modification may be called for.

First steps in diet are: stop drinking. Stop drinking sugary stuff. Stop eating candy and processed foods. If you can do those things you can go on to the harder things.

290 Elric Blade, if you can do the easy stuff like not eating candy and putting sugar in your coffee, then you can do the harder diet things.

Your eventual goal is to eat more like your great grandfather, unless he lived solely on potatoes and sugar cane, in which case you want to eat more like my great grandfather except for the liquor.

292 Good news update! On 2/24, the surgeon agreed to my surgery. Yesterday on 2/28 I was informed that the insurance prior authorization was given and my surgery is tentatively planned for 3/26. Thank you all for your prayers, this has been months of jumping through hoops and needed for years.

At my last doc visit, he broke out the paperwork from the pre-visit blood draw and said I was almost 'pre-'diabetic. Well okay, then. He told me the blood glucose was his basis for that opinion, and gave me a 3-mo supply of something called 'Farxiga'. A quick check of the side FX told me I'd never take something that can cause 'penile yeast' in men.

I've now gone on my own plan and have cut back the sweets, etc. To date, I've dropped 11 lbs and want to get back to my pre-'Covid' weight of 195 - or less. If the damned 'fitness ctr' had safe exercise equip't, I'd use that - but it's unsafe, even after reporting the problems for almost 2 years now. Some things are worse than high blood sugar - torn tendons being one.

Similar to me. Not thin, but just a middle-aged guy bod but I was diagnosed in 2010 with Type II diabetes. Still don't know what caused it. Went on Metformin for a time, which lowered it. Then with exercise and a low-carb diet I got my level below 7. I thought that meant I was cured but for some reason it doesn't work that way. I'm not a conspiracy guy, but...

Anyway, I've had no huge medical issues since my diagnosis. Cut way back on sweets, and really, the low carb diet I think was huge. Lost weight and never felt hungry, though I really missed bread and pasta. And the fake sweeteners these days are good -- unless I've just gotten used to them.

I did cheat a little and went a little over 7 so my doc put me on Jardiance (hate those f*in' commercials!) and last A1C was below 7. Firmly believe if I had been stricter low-carb, I wouldn't have needed the Jardiance.
