Dog and puppy bond on the couch.

Dog teaches a puppy to appreciate a good slobbery ball. I hear David French is a big fan of slobbery balls himself.

Dog welcomes a new puppy by giving it his favorite toy.

Oldie but a goodie: This bear is out of control but this dog ain't having it, see?

Panther purring.

I think this shows a dog and cat who have adopted each other as strays.

Fox coming for you.

Navy spending taxpayer money, awesomely.

Your dog thinks you're playing fetch, but PSYCH, you're really playing hide-and-seek.

Less than HALF of what we actually need IMO. We don't need Zumwalt DDs... we need Burkes. 1984 we were approaching a 600 ship Navy.

Personnel wise? 1984 had 575,000 Active Navy... now it's 375,000... and the world aint got smaller.

76 The flesh of the beaver is looked upon as very delicate food by the North American hunters, but the tail is the choicest dainty, and in great request. It is much prized by the Indians and trappers, especially when it is roasted in the skin, after the hair has been singed off; and in some districts it requires all the influence of the fur-traders to restrain the hunters from sacrificing a considerable quantity of beaver fur every year to secure the enjoyment of this luxury.

And I was shocked when we got into a war with zero thought of logistics of any kind. Or production, or air defense.

Both. They're an invasive species in North America (unlike the native javelinas). They destroy both cultivated and wild lands with their rooting, and will gladly eat any animal smaller than themselves -- or even much larger if they can gang up on it (which they will).

They're not really fit to eat, either...definitely not the boars. Unless they're castrated at a very early age, the meat has a stench called "boar taint". Not everyone can smell/taste this, apparently, but for those of us who can it's extremely foul.

It's amazing they got even three movies out of it. There simply isn't enough there to make a whole universe of product out of the concept without turning it into something that isn't even Star Wars anymore, like doing the Three Stooges as dark mastermind characters that are pretending to be dumb so as to get access to something they wouldn't be let near otherwise. Which might be fun in a cult way if done right, but wouldn't be The Three Stooges.

172 I was reading that there is no evidence of carbon monoxide in the bodies of the Hackmans. Now what? Possibly, Mr. Hackman suddenly passed away due to old age leaving a Mrs. Hackman so distraught the she died from a cardiac event or checked out using pills? What an awful story and one of high drama which is so fitting.

The great artists that filled my life when much younger are leaving this world. It is a warning to live well while we can.

I think it was her that went first. She had some sort of attack, heart event, stroke, something. She falls down making a big noise, or perhaps hollers out for help.

Gene, 95, pacemaker, hears that, and tries to run in to help her, and he has heart attack from the stress.

176 the Three Stooges as dark mastermind characters that are pretending to be dumb so as to get access to something they wouldn't be let near otherwise. Which might be fun in a cult way if done right, but wouldn't be The Three Stooges.
Posted by: azjaeger

Or maybe they were skilled vaudevillian artists that somehow managed to survive the end of all that and become bit players in Hollywood. That their time in Hollywood spanned decades and their work, now approaching 90 years later, is still beloved should be sufficient praise. Stooges fan forever here.

Moe: Go out there and mingle with the hoi polloi.

Curly: We don't wanna.

Moe: Mingle or I'll mangle.

189 >>> 129 Curious, what danger do the wild hogs pose -- is it to animals or just flora?

Posted by: ShainS -- We Pay Dead People at February 28, 2025 08:26 PM (1YwYn)

Posted by: Rodrigo Borgia at February 28, 2025 08:38 PM (W5ArC)

The adults can get up to 300-400 pounds, so consider what might be "smaller than them". They have nasty sharp tusks (?) which is why dogs used to hunt them are often given Kevlar jackets with neck guards.
In one trapping video I saw, the peanut farmer who had called in the trappers lost iirc a full acre of crop from one sounder of about 30 hogs. Doesn't sound like much until you consider there are several million roaming the SE US.
