That said, the animals remind me of those prehistoric cave paintings. I think I might actually like it.

13 Missed it by a flick of a bull's tail!

And there appear to be at least two bovines in today's artwork, so that's appropriate. At first glance I saw only the heads, but on further inspection their bodies are there as well, fortunately attached to their respective heads. The one at the center of the painting is flourishing his tail, too.

27 Franz Marc rejected the dominance of rationalism and materialism that came with a rapid modernisation of Germany at the beginning of the twentieth century. Instead, he turned to nature as a source of the spiritual power and made animals a main motif of his painting.

People write bullshit like this all the time.

37 Per Wiki:

"After mobilization of the German Army, the government identified notable artists to be withdrawn from combat for their own safety. Marc was on the list but was struck in the head and killed instantly by a shell splinter during the Battle of Verdun in 1916 before orders for reassignment could reach him."

47 Wait: I see a third animal, an antelope or deer, just below the center bull. This one is mostly green, but with some brownish-yellow along back and flank. He's lowering his head as if drinking from a stream.

Could there be more? Is this like the "find the hidden objects" puzzle on the back of the Tony's Pizza carton?

You could make a case that there are two snakes rearing up along the right-hand edge of the painting. And there is something like an orange brontosaurus head and neck lifted above the upper bull, too.

The slashing of orange and red from upper right to lower left (NE to SW, so to speak) gives this quite a bit of motion and energy.

I don't know if it's just because there's a round shape that sorta looks like an eye but there seems to be another animal [dog in someone's arms or leg? sheep?] at a 45° on the left side of the top-left bovine. Kinda sharp-nosed but the green rays from it don't look any real body shape unlike the bovines and deer [?]

BTW, I see a horse's head coming out of the green plant on the right side, in the middle, when you tilt your head to make that corner of the painting the top.

His wiki page is interesting. Marc served in the Imperial German Army, and while serving, and developed effective camouflage techniques, including pointillism.

As for Marxism, his mother was a devout, but socially-liberal Calvinist. That might be reflected in the painting with what looks like a three-cross motif in the upper right.

Figure 1 comes directly from the original analysis. It shows that 59 percent of households headed by an illegal immigrant use at least one welfare program, compared to 52 percent of legal immigrant households and 39 percent of native households.

Under the *biden administration illegals were provided debit cards, loaded with cash. Those cards were "refilled" automatically each month. It has been reported that some of those cards had/have tens of thousands of dollars on them. And those cards can be used for anything... not 'just' your typical EBT/WIC stuff.

So, depends on what the definition of "more" is. Money? Services? Individuals on it?

Because the illegals were/are using a shit ton of our money.

197 I’m Not quibbling over 60% vs 40%.

I’m saying the population of illegals is very small compared to the population of natives. So even if it’s 2:1 in percent of usage by the two groups, the overall dollar amount of welfare is not higher for illegals. Not even close.

That being said. Any amount above $0 is too high.

They had their three little girls with them. There's been a lot of speculation about the disappearance. The person covering it for local news has been following it all these years. He did a documentary about it for the 50th anniversary. And that interested a local diver, who has spent 7 years trying to find the car. He found it and they are trying to pull it out of the water today.

273 Have you all noticed that, in the 4 years of Biden, every "investment" announcement was funded by government?

And in the last 100 days, every investment announcement has been funded by private entities?

Remember how Kamala kept answering "how are you going to pay for the $50k loans to blacks?" with "we'll get a return on our investment?"

"Our investment" sure does seem to have only funded "our democracy" with no return to the People who fronted the money for "our investment."

274 250 On Thursday, Germany’s top news magazine Spiegel posed the question ‘Does Germany need the atomic bomb now?’. On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron again brought up the idea of a European nuclear shield with bombs forwarded to Germany. The man likely to be the next German chancellor wants to borrow a trillion Euros to boost the German military, and is repeatedly drawn into talking about nuclear weapons. He’s not the only one either.

Still, I don't love the precedent.

There are farmers all over the world who would love to be relocated to the US. Why are we giving priority to South Africans, of all people? Because of Elon?

And I assume, since these farmers can't take their money out of South Africa, they will be given free land to work? Or what's the plan there?

No, of course not. The reason to let the Boers in is because they will make good citizens. They are hard-working and decent.

I’m not a fan of much, if any, immigration to our country. I’d only let in the people who have a proven history of success; the Einsteins and bon Neumanns, for example. However, if we have to let in a group of farmers, the Boers are good.

As for setting a precedent, it does no such thing. The left has thrown open our borders and let everyone in. What do you think this is going to cause them to do?

355 To be fair, he's not wrong. Men shouldn't be in women's shorts. At least not in public.

I need a ruling: nuthuggers from the 80s classified as 'women's shorts'?

I watched a YT video last night made by a young British guy who traveled through Zimbabwe a few months ago. Great work and worth watching. And yeah, Zimbabwe has gone to hell. Brits are superb at writing and crafting travelogues.

358 Hmmm...I may have to pour a glass of vodka and listen to the 1812 Overture later.
Posted by: RedMindBlueState

The 1812 is one of those pieces that everyone should listen to from time to time. I may listen to it tonight as well.

A booming good idea!

359 Group oppression is just a cudgel to make you forget the individual in all matters, and to stamp out free will, which demons despise.

Stick to examples of people who are not raping child necrophilia and the argument is more rhetorically compelling.

Only if they have live cannons recorded. Back in the day, I used to use 1812 Overture to test stereo systems. Erich Kunzel and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra to be exact. Uses both live cannons and live church bells in the performance.

Really tests speaker receiver amp combos.

368 I really like how the animals have been blended into the painting and the use of happy jewel tone colors.

Would put this painting into the hanging rotation.

Thanks! It's nice painting to have before the start of the weekend.
