Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 2/ 25 /25![]() “I’ll be blunt here: The Democratic Party is f***ing terrible. Plain and simple,” a major Democrat donor told The Hill. “In fact, it doesn’t get much worse.” The donor said that the 2024 loss was much worse than the loss in 2016 because the party is currently “so weak and so diminished.” A second donor told the publication that they were equally as turned off about the party. “They want us to spend money, and for what? For no message, no organization, no forward thinking,” the donor said. “The thing that’s clear to a lot of us is that the party never really learned its lesson in 2016. They worked off the same playbook and the same ineffective strategies and to what end?”Well, Mr. Moneybags anonymous Democrat Party donor, What is the Party? In the end the party is what it and its base stand for. In this case, everything that is wrong with this country and everything that has brought us virtually to our knees since the New Deal, ramped up with the Great Society, Obama/Biden. Everyone and everything you have donated money to and for are responsible for the misery, suffering and waste of blood, treasure lives and potential. Considering that unless and until the GOP gets behind the MAGA agenda and does a mea culpa for decades of get-along to go-along bipartisanship and worse, a place at the trough to wet their snouts, hold on to your money. Then examine everything you believe in and admit that open borders, sexualization of our children, a massive welfare state, promotion of abortion, the shredding of our Constitutional freedoms, the continued brainwashing of our children that America as founded is irredeemably racist white supremacist/misgynist etc. etc, acquiescence to the march of Isam abroad and here are wrong and dangerous in the extreme, then you will have learned your lesson of 2016. In short, the Leopard will have to change its spots. Not going to happen. Given this leopard is evil and seeks absolute power by any means necessary. Because the evil that defines it needs to see us destroyed ignorer to achieve its aims. Maybe, Mr. Anonymous Donor should have a little conversation with Bro-Fo Omar about calling Trump voters idiots. Of with Chuck Schumer or Robert Garcis, elected officials for publicly threatening Musk as well as SCOTUS justices along with Trump himself. Acting United States Attorney Ed Martin of the District of Columbia replied to a post Monday showing a video of a woman calling for the assassination of Tesla CEO and White House Senior Advisor Elon Musk. Martin previously opened probes into Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York and Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia of California over allegedly threatening comments they made about Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and U.S. Supreme Court justices, CBS News reported. The TikTok user admitted to not filing her taxes for eight years before she called for Musk’s murder in a video reposted to X by LibsofTikTok. . . . . . “I promised myself I would avoid the news,” the woman, who goes by the username “sarahcroberts” on the since-deleted account, said. “But obviously, I haven’t. Here’s my one thought – I have many thoughts – Elon Musk,” before making a gesture that appeared to mimic cutting a throat. “Like when you do X him, and by X, I mean formally mean assassination and it’s a warning from the FBI is going to fucking show up, I don’t… arrest me,” the user said. “You don’t have enough people to even investigate me at this point. I haven’t filed my taxes in like… eight years and yet no one’s come for me, so I’m going to fucking say it. Let’s assassinate some motherfuckers.”And there is your Democrat base, my friends. As stated, they have zero audience and yet look at the lineup of every major broadcast and cable network as well as the editorial board of every major newspaper and all are composed of the most strident, hardcore leftist true-believers.
Staving Off Financial Ruin For The MSM, A Plan: Step 1: Select a single source (ABC, CNN, NYT, doesn't matter) and all outlets direct their viewers/readers there. Step 2: Battle Royale between all the "talent" to determine who will be employed at the survivor. Bonus points for making this PPV and only permitting bludgeoning weapons. Step 3: Every year, on New Year's Eve, announce who is the least popular talent and force them to ritually disembowel themselves on live TV. I think one of the reasons Joe and Mika are still on MSNBC is because back in November, after the election, they went to Mar-a-Lago to "kiss Trump's ring." It was advertised as a "reset" but they went down there to plead for their jobs. Probably promised they'd do more "puff pieces" on Trump in exchange for the incoming administration to go lightly on the pair.
Others, like Reid, and those preceding her who were antagonistic towards Trump (personally) and refused to chill out... are being chilled out anyway. The threat of massive lawsuits seems to have that sort of effect. YMMV Posted by: Martini Farmer at February 25, 2025 07:42 AM (Q4IgG) 16
I enjoyed the clip on X where Trump explains the purpose of the “5 things” email; which is exactly what I’ve been trying to say here whenever it comes up. It has *nothin” to do with the actual answer given (unless its an intentionally vulgar one, I suppose) but rather, it is a ping sent out to see which employees actually exist, and which are just fraudulent names and accounts soaking up a check each month.
So of course it doesn’t matter if Kash exempts his department, because he’s capable of determining for himself if his people exist or not. This query is meant to ferret out thousands of names that exist only in the shadows, but which still collect a check each month. Posted by: Tom Servo at February 25, 2025 07:42 AM (73vBl) 17

When angry voters confronted Rep. Rich McCormick over DOGE at a town hall held in the Georgia Republican's deep-red district, the New York Times, Washington Post, and CBS News cited the scene as proof of emerging bipartisan "backlash" over Elon Musk's efforts to slash government spending. CBS included a quote from one of the protest's organizers, Maggie Goldman, describing her only as a McCormick constituent.
A self-described "Democrat & Political Activist," Goldman, who did not respond to a request for comment, coordinated volunteers for Pete Buttigieg's presidential campaign in 2019 and 2020, according to her LinkedIn. Shortly thereafter, she ran for her local county commission as a Democrat seeking to enact a "more inclusive policy agenda." Goldman has donated exclusively to Democrats and sent Kamala Harris's campaign more than $1,500 last year, according to campaign finance records. Since it keeps coming up, now in the context of tariffs (as in the story above):
Inflation is a monetary policy issue, not a fiscal one. It has nothing to do with how much you spend or don't spend. It had everything to do with how loose or tight you keep the money supply. Too much money and you have inflation and low interest rates. Too little and you get the reverse. How much you do or don't spend is a fiscal impact. Spend a lot and you're higher up the demand curve and prices increase accordingly. Spend a little and you move down the demand curve and prices decrease. The idiocy of the Biden admin was trying to tell people that the inflation they were seeing was just a bunch of people in their new jobs with their high paychecks buying up everything. That's bull Never confuse a supply/demand shift with a monetary one. And yes, this all oversimplifies things a bit (deflation, government intervention, etc etc) but for discussion purposes this is the grounding of what inflation is...nothing to do with spending, everything to do with money supplies. Posted by: Ian S. at February 25, 2025 *** In the '60s and early '70s, our local supermarket chain (think Walmart long before Walmart) had a small bar on the premises. Dad could have a beer and smoke a ciggie or two while Mom and the kids did the grocery shopping. Nobody worried about drinking and driving -- which is good for freedom, but maybe not so good for other drivers and your passengers. Anyway, the supermarket and the state left it up to an adult to decide. The biggest location of the chain had a classic barbershop upstairs, along with insurance offices and other businesses, and a TV lounge where Mom could park the kids for an hour of cartoons while she shopped. "The FBI is working day and night to destroy files on these servers. Can't be restored. I'm sure there's info about Epstein and subversion against Americans."
I'm thinking that this is bullshit. Anything stored on a server is also replicated on another in a different area in case the primary is taken out by storm, terrorism, fire, etc. So they also wreck any one of the replicated servers. What about be off-site backups and archives? To do this requires a lot of coordination and now turns into a RICO because it is a conspiracy involving multiple teams and their leadership. And that assumes that they self-host, which I'm not sure to believe because AWS/Azure keeps getting three letter contracts to manage cloud data. I did serious ESG work (the good kind, not the woke kind) for a very large international investment group. They were very much interested in getting into mining. Just because something might be in the ground doesn't mean its worth the hassle of getting when there are better candidates available. Ukraine fails a lot in the ESG sectors because world class corrupted government, worthless labor pool, high risk exposure and difficult weather and infrastructure. OTOH, the former US has these materials and the impediment is our own NIMBY , leftists and litigation. Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at February 25, 2025 08:40 AM (a4flb) 194

Listening Devices Found in Oval Office—President’s Desk Removed for Security Scan
Washington, D.C. – February 21, 2025 In a shocking revelation that has sent ripples through Washington, sources within the White House have confirmed that the Oval Office—including the historic Resolute Desk—was subjected to a high-level security sweep following suspicions of covert surveillance. The sweep reportedly uncovered sophisticated listening devices, leading to the immediate removal of the President’s desk for a comprehensive off-site scan. A senior official, speaking anonymously, revealed that the discovery followed routine electronic countermeasures that detected unusual signals. “The anomalies were subtle but consistent—enough to trigger a full investigation,” the source said. “We couldn’t risk compromising the integrity of the President’s workspace.” Specialized teams using cutting-edge radiofrequency detection technology were dispatched, and initial findings allegedly pointed to concealed audio surveillance devices hidden within the office. The Resolute Desk, gifted by Queen Victoria in 1880, was transported to a secure, undisclosed location for thorough inspection. Posted by: SMOD at February 25, 2025 08:42 AM (RHGPo) 202

First I heard we were scrapping USAID altogether. Then I heard we were cutting it down to 250 employees to focus on core mission activities under the State Department. Now I heard we're firing 1,200 employees.
So USAID remains to once again metasticize? Which you know it will. Posted by: Ordinary American at February 25, 2025 08:10 AM (UseAb) 1. Trump cannot unilaterally disband USAID as it was created by an act of Congress, specifically the "Foreign Affairs Reform and Restructuring Act of 1998". 2. It is questionable if Trump can move USAID under State as the aforementioned act reportedly made it an "independent establishment" outside of State although no mention is given as to whether a general cabinet level overseer was named. 3. If Congress fails to do their jobs, or acts in a corrupt manner, all the various agencies rot will once again metastasize. Nothing Trump can do can absolutely prevent that. If this is true, then federal data systems need a MASSIVE overhaul. However, the idea that electronic data storage systems are not backed up to prevent data loss in the event of hardware failure strikes me as unlikely, even for the feds. The idea that a general employee would have the access rights necessary to delete files from the backup strikes me as even MORE unlikely. I suspect that files are being deleted from the servers. Imagine you're a FBI computer nerd working in some basement datacenter and your smarmy boss tells you to wipe the data associated with this, that or the other thing. Given that you're peripherally aware of what's been going down, do you start deleting stuff?
Or, would you make a half hearted attempt at it hoping that moving stuff around so it appears to be gone to your boss, and his boss, is enough to keep you out of trouble. Unless you're down with the struggle. Then you'd get out the cloth and start wiping, right? I think there's room for both situations... but neither of those scenarios started yesterday or today. I've been watching a lot of mainstream Lefty YouTubers distilling the results of the German election, and they all try to spin it as a massive win for the "leftwing Establishment" and Europe generally, with thumbnail images showing Trump getting tossed into a trashcan.
And yet, when they rattle off the list of Merz's priorities, it's a Trump/MAGA laundry list. Increase military spending amounts of NATO partners. Friendlier towards nuclear power. Restricting immigration (and even offshoring holding of migrants in Africa). Even the desire to have Europe step up and more vigorously defend Ukraine as the US steps back, while dumb, fits with Trump's policy of it being a European matter. AfD may not have won, but they have the moribund European globalist Establishment scared and, at least paying lip-service to Nationalist priorities. He's used to getting a blank check from Biden. Perhaps helping him win the 2020 election was thinking short term? And remember the scope of how much money the US is giving them - way more then their GDP. But here is the odd thing. In WWII we gave the Soviets massive aid so they didn't have to manufacture/produce most of the basic things you need in war. The Soviets responded by drafting an absurd percentage of their male population into the military to fight the NAZIs. In Ukraine though the military hasn't grown that much even with us giving them a whole economy. I don't think the Russians have killed *that* many Ukes so where are all those patriotic Uke men? Not many movies made for us as kids survive into our adulthood. I saw "Pollyanna" again a few years ago and thought, yes, this was one that did survive. The interactions between the guileless but strong-willed Pollyanna (who ironically was not actually a "Pollyana" at all) and some of the adults were quite well done. Then again, I re-watched "Swiss Family Robinson" and thought, this one did not survive.

203, re aid, that 1998 law you are citing does not "authorize' AID, if you actually read section 6581, it only transfers certain functions to state dept, namely press and administrative functions. In a subsequent section,6601 (d), it allows abolition of AID, with State Dept assuming duties. The particular 1997 law that is in your hotlink was vetoed. So Congress came up with the new law in 1998.

Hours after his party’s victory in Germany’s federal elections, likely incoming chancellor Friedrich Merz began to soften his stance on immigration as he looks to form a coalition with leftist parties rather than the anti-mass migration Alternative for Germany.
While Merz campaigned as a supposed immigration hardliner, the successor to Angela Merkel as the leader of the Christian Democrats and the likely next leader of the country appears to be following the tradition of notionally right-wing politicians abandoning their election-time promises once the votes have been counted. Six weeks ago, the BBC’s climate soothsayers were gazing into 2025 with their trademark blend of gloom and green idealism. Their January 7 piece, “From Trump to a ‘Game-Changing’ Lawsuit: Seven Big Climate and Nature Moments Coming in 2025,” sketched a year of UN lawsuits, lofty CO2 targets, and global summits—all set to “shift the dial” on warming. They gave Trump’s return a nervous glance, hinting his Paris exit might “hinder climate action,” but banked on technocrats and NGOs to keep the faith. Then the Trump juggernaut roared in, flattening their predictions in under two months. Now, with NGOs in the crosshairs, the rubble’s still smoking. What a difference six weeks make.
