Posted by: Aetius451AD at February 21, 2025 09:34 AM (bss/y)

19 Very photorealistic. I can feel the texture of those floorboards, the smoothness of the white marble infant sculptures, the sharp stiffness of the nuns' wimples. (If that's what they are; I'm not sure on the terminology.)

And the artist is very clearly Italian. He looks as though he should be on a pizza box, or in a video game!

What is it the front nun is pering at? It looks like a tablet, the old kind you write on, I mean. Or like a collection of the artist's work.

It looks like a sketchbook. There's another leaning against her chair behind her. These women seem to have a friendship with this artist. They smile and laugh. Unless it's a different one from the one I'm thinking of, the nun/Elvis movie featured a very young and delectable Mary Tyler Moore as the nun.

As I recall, the nuns ran a school and/or clinic for Impoverished Yoot, and Elvis was a young doctor. The plot, of course, turned on Mary and Elvis lusting after each other, and whether or not she would forsake her vows for him.

The other thing I remember from the movie is that it was set in Brooklyn/The Bronx/one of those places. Sister Hot Pants examines a kid: "I think he's autistic." Mother with strong New York accent: "Nah, he never even picked up a crayon."

112 Mr VP JD:

My message to young men is don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man, because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends, or because you’re competitive. The cultural message...wants to turn everybody, whether male or female, into androgynous idiots who think the same, talk the same, and act the same. We actually think God made male and female for a purpose, and we want you guys to thrive as young men, and as young women. And we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that.

I think the term "autism" was coined in the mid- to late Forties, so maybe it did turn up in a few entertainment properties. Welby dealt with a lot of issues that many TV dramas didn't want to touch; I think they had one on anorexia, for instance. I'm pretty sure they did one with Huntington's chorea -- Joseph Campanella played the guest character who suffered from it.

I really enjoy genre paintings. They are often mini history lessons. When small range finder and later SLR cameras became common genre imagery aka Street Photography became a thing. Robert Franks in his masterpiece "The Americans" captured some of the greatest photos ever.

The only street violence I ever saw was a large dyke punching a lovely, thin, blonde girl repeatedly in the face. I pulled over, jumped out of the truck, ran over and asked the blonde if she needed help. She meekly said no. Asked her again-Are you sure? Once again, she said no. I turned to the brute and said "Assault on the street is a crime".

I had to resist my urge to faceplant her on the sidewalk. I wonder how long the blonde lived.

Nature is not full of variations, you fucking imbecile. It is full of male or female. On very rare occasions it drops a critter that has both male and female biology and even more rarely a critter that can change biological sex. Those that can change biological sex are among the least intelligent species known to exist.
