A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked President Donald Trump's executive order aiming to restrict transgender health care for anyone under 19.
Judge Brendan Hurson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland was skeptical of the government's argument that the order is not a nationwide ban on care, but rather a "general policy directive" and that the plaintiffs -- who are trans teens and young adults whose care has been affected by the order -- must wait to sue.
"In this situation, it is clear that these plaintiffs have received phone calls stopping their care, stopping their appointments, stopping their everything," Hurson said during the hearing Thursday, adding that hospitals stopped care because of the order, which also seeks to prohibit federal funding of transition-related care for minors.
"I don't know how you can credibly argue that this is not demanding the cessation of funding for gender affirming care," he said.

Isn't it terribly weird that the Transgender Left claims that puberty blockers are completely temporary and puberty can be turned on and off without harm, and yet if you interrupt a "trans" child's puberty blockers for a month it results in "irreparable harm" (as required for the granting of an emergency injunction)?

Why can't puberty blockers be turned off and then back on with no harm?

Their real position is that puberty blockers are always good and natural puberty is always bad.

CBS News: A federal judge in Maryland agreed Thursday to temporarily halt President Trump's executive action that restricts access to gender-affirming care for people under the age of 19, according to the groups challenging the move, delivering a setback to the Trump administration efforts targeting what it calls "gender ideology" while the legal proceedings move forward.

The Worcester City Council in Massachusetts voted 9-2 on Tuesday to designate the city as a sanctuary for "Transgender and Gender Diverse People," a move that sparked controversy over the behavior of activists present at the meeting.
The resolution prohibits the use of city resources for "detaining persons for solely seeking or providing gender-affirming care." The measure also means that the city will refuse to cooperate with any state or federal policies that are "aimed to harm transgender or gender diverse people."
Approximately 200 LGBT activists attended the five-hour meeting to support the measure, according to the Washington Examiner. Some speakers made inflammatory remarks, with one self-proclaimed drag queen stating, "I need this city to protect me because the federal government won't."
"If you say that you're afraid of Trump and that's why you don't want the city to be a safe space for trans people, you better be prepared for trans people to make this a very unsafe space," the individual threatened.
"Can you look at me and tell me how many of my friends have to die before you do anything?" said another activist to the council. "Look at me! F*cking pathetic!"

I've been in their shoes. Agents of the state in my home threatening me. One of them shouted that I reminded her of her mother, who never accepted her lesbianism.

At that point, I threw them out and lawyered up. I taped the agents banging on my front door, turned it over to my guy and they were both reassigned. Their replacement had a jaded but reasonable air, and stayed in her lane. It still took months to get them off my back.

It only has about 200,000 occupants. Of those 200k...over a quarter of them were born outside the US. So, yes, it is an Illegal Immigrant hub. Additionally, and interestingly, well over 60% of the current occupants don't belong to either political party. So, making the town a sanctuary city for the dress up mentally ill class is going to have interesting effects on voting in that town going forward. Especially since the primary immigrants in town are Hispanic (by a large number).

In short, Worcester is going to be a fun little microcosm to watch.

I think they are useful - at least for the moment. These have to be defended in court, and the judges are I'm sure enjoying having their lives broadcast on the internet.

There will also have to be arguments, and the judges are going to look like abject morons to have claimed "the merits" supported the TRO.

I think this is why SCOTUS is keeping mum. The hotheads around here got all pissed when SCOTUS didn't block Trump's sentencing, but it was actually better that day, because his "felony conviction" is probably the only one in history without so much as probation.

Give them more rope to hang themselves for a little while.

No, the doctors drive the process. The confused parents go to a doctor, or more properly are sent to an "expert" who gets paid to mutilate.

The path forward for these people is to let them know that they were betrayed. That's the only way they can forgive themselves.

For some parents, that's going to be difficult because they took pride in their behavior. Basked in it. For them, redemption will be much more difficult.

A daughter whose feet were bound remained a daughter and parents did this because it would increase the social status of their grandchildren.

Up here in my state, DHHS (Child Protective Services) has had something like 14 kids die in foster care in the past 5 years. I'm not 100% on those numbers but its so bad that they actually put together a "commission"!!!! to figure out how to fix it.

My friend came out retirement to become a director at DHHS, but the adult welfare administration wing. He said that the problem is that ... shocker... government employees don't work, and sometimes don't show up... and when he tries to fire them, they run right to the union and the union gets involved and blocks any kind of repercussions from being doled out.

One time one of his employees left for 3 weeks. Didn't tell anyone where she was going. They actually filed a missing persons report with the police.

She shows back up like nothing ever happened and expected to just go on working. My friend told her she was AWOL and to pack up her desk.

Go figure the union fought to keep her from being fired.
