Sure, every once in a while they get the order to do something for male subscribers and green-light a Terminal List or Reacher, but all the rest of it is girl-power nonsense like Rangz of Power or Wheel of Time.
Men like action movies. Women do not. Every man can attest to this. We try to get our ladies to watch action movies -- they don't like them. But leftwing feminist ideologues like Jennifer Salke want to condition men to see women as strong and powerful, so they take genres that appeal to men only and fill them with female girlboss characters. This is not done for entertainment or for profit; this is done strictly to achieve the feminist goal of making men comfortable with submitting to Stronk Empowered Women. This is so annoying to me. Men do not attempt to interfere when, say, Hollywood remakes Little Women for the tenth time. We do not demand that men be given more prominent roles. We do not demand that the movie be filled with Diversity Casting to better Appeal to the Modern Audience. We leave women alone to make what they want, and enjoy what they want. But leftwing women will absolutely not leave men alone, ever. Our tastes and habits and even trivial entertainment preferences must always be shaped and molded to twisted to the contours demanded by ballbusting, controlling women. Who is going to watch this? Fox was an upstart at the time, without an NFL deal. They had a great Sunday night must-see line-up that had Married with Children and In Living Color. So they announced that In Living Color would air exactly during the Super Bowl half-time show. Later, Murdoch got his NFL deal.
In Living Color was fantastic but you couldn't make it today. More's the pity.

jeez we didn't even pretend to let the gals into most of the boy games especially not football lite things, too dangerous . Now sometimes they came into a Pickle game (two guys with a ball and glove, the whole neighborhood on the base trying to steal bases), but we also let toddlers, youngsters join in you just had to be kinda careful tagging them out if you cared to.

Here's a recent fun movie that tries to bridge the guy/gal gap-
"Heart Eyes"
wherein a actually funny rom-com is thrown in the blender with a state the art slasher flick. The idea is that there is a serial killer who goes after couples on Valentine's Day and the killer focuses on a couple who aren't actually a couple.
I enjoyed it a lot. The lovely and critical Mrs naturalfake couldn't get past the very gory parts to see it as a fun comedy. She didn't hate it but she wasn't a fan.
So, there's the issue for this flick from some online reviews I've read Guys thought there was too much rom-com. Gals think there was too much gore.
However-
I can pretty much guarantee that if the movie sounds good to you, that you will enjoy it.

My brood and I are thoroughly enjoying "Severance," which I caught up with on SB Sunday. Really well-written and well-crafted. I'm hard-pressed to remember a more compelling sci-fi premise, and I haven't detected a whiff of woke in it. Amazingly, it's directed by Ben Stiller, whom I appear to have underestimated.

Looks at the credits sometime. James Clavell was one of the screen writers of the movie. Clavell spent time in the notorious Japanese POW camp, Chang Ji, during WWII.

My favorite about Childs' Reacherismms is how stupidly incorrect he is on about 90% of his "truths" about the US Army.
Major Reacher would not be a commando like operative he would either be an Asst Provost Marshall, or he would be Staff for one.
Further they conflate the CID and MP missions at random and though they are similar they are NOT the same.
I think he wrote Reacher sans research because at heart he wanted to write about the UK but understood there is no audience there.

Think I was in for 2 years, had some interesting campouts (we did all through the year camps). Had one that was well below 0, food and drink froze and had to be thawed, tents couldn't be put up so we were in a horse stall in hay in a shed with one of the long sides open...good times.

Oh, no no no.
I watched it last week on someone's recommendation during a movie thread.
It was awful. Very flat with all the comedy sucked out of it. The Snowden incident totally mishandled. The script writers "improved" the story. Tonally off throughout the whole thing. Gar. Bage. By the end, you'll probably just be pissed.
I was pissed that I wasted time on it.
A dickkick is deserved by the recommender buuuuut since I think it was ette who recommended the series I'll forego administering a cuntpunt since I'm all gentlemanly and such.

Right, and close order drill. Hugely important.
My shooting skills saw zero improvement (in part because my rifle had a bolt so worn the ejector would go in backwards).
What I did learn was how to clean a firearm to an immaculate standard.
Not sure how that will help me against an international terrorist cell, but maybe their weapons are all fouled and I can improvise a cleaning kit, turning them against them...

I've been seeing reaction videos by some pretty Asian (vietnamese) gals watching old action movies on Youtube. Dirty Harry, Its a Wonderful Life, Terminator, Tremors.
They did Tropic Thunder and had some trouble following the gist of it but it was funny when some VietCong jumped out of a spider hole and shot some extras and they all cheered patriotically.

yes. The direction was clinical, documentary-ish. It's just showing you what happened. There's almost no music in the movie, or maybe none at all. The style of presentation is just "here are the facts, we make no judgment, we're not glamorizing it."

Yeah.... 80 inch really nice TV, with a Dennon surround system with 3 ft tall Klipsch speakers... comfy couch, and the Refrig 10 feet away.
Why go to a movie when I can wait a bit and enjoy it at home?
