The problem nowadays is that we have lost sight of the superiority of our culture and have subsumed it in an ocean of moral relativity and non-Western brutality.

Maybe we should return to first principles, and renew our commitment to ideas that used to be axiomatic, but are now up for debate.

Really? Child rape? Murder of innocents? mutilation of children on the alter of sociopathic sexual perversions? Destruction of the individual in service to the state?

These aren't complicated ideas, as Sir Charles understood very well.

That statue is in Trafalgar Square, in the heart of London, and until is is torn down they may have a chance at redemption. But they certainly need a modern Napier. Luckily, America seems to have gotten one in the form of President Donald Trump!

Referee reviews and says the receiver didn't have control before going out of bounds. Okay. Not an unreasonable call. Referee, however, fails to note the defensive pass interference on the play.

I remember when I got around to reading the details of these battles - I hadn't really paid much attention to the eastern front post Kursk originally and it was not what I expected. The Germans inflicted repeated, absurd losses in men and material on the Soviets while ceding territory, but to confirm your point, with most of their supplies coming from the US by that point the Soviets could afford it.

It does make me shudder to think what the Eastern part of the war might have looked like if Hitler had just let his general call the shots...

Our granddaughter had another archery tournament yesterday. The high school where it was held not only had an American flag in the entry, but a plaque with the 10 Commandments on it. Among other, mostly Americana type stuff.

I think CS Lewis had the last word on actual robber barons vs progressives. Certainly monarchies have more longevity. Republics seem to include a built-in expiration date. Mark Dice and Ann Barnhardt — as a rule, I like them both. Dice is usually totally right-on, and Ann, well, other than the general idea that I'm going to burn in hell for all eternity because I'm not Roman Catholic (and Latin Mass Catholic at that), I really enjoy her writings, and her memes page every day.

But what makes me cringe mightily with each of them is the attitude about Israel. In somewhat different ways, they each seem to have a real problem about it, especially about US support of Israel. Some of Ann's memes lately have been really awful.

I can appreciate that someone might not want to have US arming and funding Israel, from an isolationist and fiscal conservation viewpoint, but Dice, always harping on Israel committing "ethnic cleansing," and Barnhardt portraying Trump as Netenyahu's lapdog, seem to dismiss certain aspects of the situation. Dice will show images of obliterated Gaza but never mentions slaughters like 10/7. Barnhardt, similarly, fails to get to the root of our relationship with the only civilized country in the Middle East.

Yeah, Clinton's deregulation definitely ruined radio. I lived in Orlando in the mid-90s and the local rock station there managed to break local band Seven Mary Three nationwide. (They were a one-hit-album wonder rather than a one-hit-song wonder - their debut "American Standard" is still a good listen, but nothing after that really stuck). About 3 years later the local DJs who did that were gone, it was just nationwide Clear Channel crap.
