Eventually, Queer Starmer, the left-wing gay hitler, is going to shutoff the US part of the Internet for his people. You know, just ban all USA ip's & domains (whatever)

8 Has it really been that long when MTV started. Wow, now I feel really old. Then came VHI, Country Music, and on and on. Exciting times long ago. Now all is gone. I actually recorded some of it on my Beta Max, but those tapes are also long gone.

10 The UK peaked with Thatcher. I was lucky enough to go to one of her presentations. If I were a random Internet guy, I would say I met her, but I did not. I did see her speak.

There has not even been a decent UK leader since her. Probably Blair was the most impactful the people the conservatives have put up such as major and literally a bunch of people I don’t care to even try to remember is a joke. The French or the same way, I am not bashing to bash. I can’t think of a single French leader because even been decent towards our country. Many people in the no say the socialist Mirand was the most pro-American French leader. It helped that he had the Soviet army trying to run his country over.

In the modern era, I can’t think of a single brick or French man who was a Prime Minister or president that was even decent.

16 People are focused on so many other issues, but I am getting the inkling that Trump is going to do something big with Africa. If you look into the history, the western world mostly Europe and the United States have spent so many billions on Africa since 1950 that is almost impossible to understand the numbers. Nothing has worked. No one has actually been helped. Think of USAID on steroids. It gets to the point where you’re actually paying people not to make something out of their country not to make a middle class and not to start building things. It might be the case that even leaders there are going to call this out. I’m no expert here, but I have done some reading on the subject, and the aid to Africa thing is so old and with so little gain, it looks like people are finally wondering about it.

21 paper straws:

Paper straws are a great issue, ackshually.

They demonstrate the absolute sociopathy of libs who delight in squeezing tiny bits of social status and moral authority from making your life uncomfortable and unpleasant.

The whole time you’re suffering with a soggy, mushy straw a lib will be expectantly waiting to see if a complaint escapes your lips so that they can launch into pedantic, insufferable scolding.

Just like with everything else, paper straws cannot be negotiated with libs. The premise of paper straws must be rejected from the outset.

Yesterday's gaggle in front of the doors of the Education Department, was an event of immense humor.

Everyone there who spoke to the security person was playing a different game of Victimhood Trumps What? and was frantically rifling through their card deck to play Victimhood Card after Victimhood Card and finding -- to their dismay -- that not a one of them was working. It was beautiful.

Given the "diverse" composition of the gaggle, it was a perfect demonstration of how far set asides have corroded identitarians' ability to enunciate reasoned and coherent arguments. It reminded me of Gandalf at the western gate to Moria, trying dpell after spell to get it to open and failing each time.

We went to a zoo recently.

Big posters everywhere about how they're "doing their part" and plastic straws were not on the grounds. If you wanted a straw you either used a paper one or you paid $7 for a steel one (that will cost you a few hundred in dental visits later on).

We laughed and laughed when we went to buy entry to a petting zoo section, and they don't accept cash. You have to go and buy a zoo-only credit card that you use once and throw away after you're done with the petting zoo section.

It was such a great opportunity to demonstrate so many things to young minds all at once.

It's like people have never heard of the Streisand Effect. That young man wasn't wrong, and the more they draw attention to it the more people recognize he wasn't wrong and the only reason it was viewed as wrong was because he's white. Any other race? Fine, say whatever you want.

Also it's hilarious that the whole H1B conversation (that likely destroyed Vivek's political career) had died down while the nation was mainly focused on the 50-100M or so illegal mexicans here, and they decided to crank it back up again. Which is good. The H1Bs need to be gone, too.

58 Imma cook ribs for the Tay Tay Bowl.

-

I tried a new recipe recently that turned out fantastic and will be how I prepare them from now on.

Apply favorite rub, smoke for three hours.
Remove and put into foil bone side up (to not puncture foil), put pats of butter every three or four inches down face-down ribs, put one cup of apple cider or apple juice in foil.
Wrap tightly, return to smoker for three more hours.
Remove, remove from foil, baste lightly with BBQ sauce or honey.
Return to smoker for 45 minutes.
Remove, let rest for 15 minutes under foil.

Turns out great. The basting at the end gives them a fantastic texture.

59 I'll take the opposite view. For someone who's apparently quite a brilliant young man, the choice of the word "eugenics" is a really poor choice as "eugenics" has really bad connotations . He could have said "As far as immigration ) if that's what he was talking about ) we should choose the best and brightest people who will benefit our country" if that's what he was getting at. Then again, he was a teenager, yes? Teenagers say lots of stupid stuff. So do adults. No reason to fire him but in the "religion" of leftism you're always a sinner and there's no room for reflection and repentance or grace.

63 Early MTV was actually interesting. Some videos were actually pretty well done short form films and very entertaining. In 1981 I was starting residency, living in a small apartment akin to a monastic cell, with a 13” B&W TV with no cable and precious little time to watch it anyway. Fast forward to the late 80’s married to a fairly talented musician (she played flute, piano, guitar, etc.) who loved to have it on as background when working in the house. I wish they would go back to the original format and drop all of the crap they have now.

72 And not any old laptop chip either, but the 16 core 7945HX, which is as fast as a 12 core desktop 9900X )on multi-threaded tasks) while using half the power.

Wndell from Level1Techs reviewed one of their MicroATX boards and he was highly impressed due to the price.

If you need a lot of high-speed I/O it’s going to leave you hanging as I think the 5 or 6 USB-A tops out at 3.2 Gen 1 speeds.

The MiniITX versions do seem to come with one USB-C on the rear I/O. There wasn’t one on the M-ATX version that Windell reviewed.

It’s also sparse on mobo headers.
Nothing for RGB.
One USB3 front header for USB-A.

The CPU can’t be upgraded, of course.

It uses SODIMM memory sticks and tops out at DDR-5200.

There are no heat shields on the 2 PCie5.0 M.2 slots, so you’ll need to buy an SSD with a heat spreader.

But, if you want to buy a mobo and CPU together to make a compact gaming machine or save a ton just making a very efficient productivity PC or build a nice little NAS, this is for you.

Especially considering you can get into that for the cost of one new retail boxed desktop CPU.

President Trump offered the Afrikaners refugee status because the black-led Commie government of South Africa is making noises about confiscating their property and killing them. If you don't know that, you are dreadfully uninformed.

79 If you really miss MTV seems you could just go to YouTube and create a playlist of say 100 vintage MTV videos and stream them on your smart TV, Roku, or whatever.

My nostalgic exercise was to create a playlist of television show theme songs. Sometimes I'll bring it up while driving and set it to Random. It can be fun to go from the whistling theme of Andy Griffith to Hill Street Blues to SpongeBob. But that's just me.

83 If anyone is surprised by South Africa, I’m not sure what to tell them. The ANC was hard-core Commie in the 1980s. Now we have this situation, but it is not new. It’s just newly in the news. It is like so many Brits asking why their scandal matters now even though it’s been going on for 10 or 15 years at least. Trump is doing the right thing. I don’t see why anyone could possibly criticize this. I look at Trump and I see someone who is literally batting 1000. Any so-called conservative, who calls him out at this point needs to really think about what they are doing. And Paul made a full of himself the other night on this Gaza thing. This Christian doesn't really care that much as it sounds like she's in support of religious freedom. I don't have to support her theology ( and I loathe "Name it and claim it"/ prosperity Gospel "theology") but she's an attractive woman ( which Trump appreciates ) and seems like a newer more exaggerated version of Norman Vincent Peale- "The Power of Positive Thinking" which is what he grew up with. I would imagine other people such as Franklin Graham can have a more moderating influence.

He could have said "As far as immigration ) if that's what he was talking about ) we should choose the best and brightest people who will benefit our country" if that's what he was getting at.

Two, only white people need to watch what they say. He's grown up experiencing ONLY that. He has no "before" time. He has no previous experience with polite society. All he knows is that white people, and especially males, aren't allowed to notice things or speak up about them.

This is a natural response to that, and we'll have to go through some difficult years before everyone agrees to be nice to one another again.

Obama mainstreamed it in his "fundamental transformation" attempt. We've got a chance to stop it. Hopefully straight talking white kids like this young man will move the conversation in a realistic direction.

Speaking of Catholics, I pretty aggravated with much of the hierarchy. They allowed themselves to become servants of the Deep State in exchange to many millions of dollars. I'm sure that the bishops told themselves that they were doing good by bringing in all of these illegal migrants.
This then created upward pressures of housing, and downward pressures on wages. Oppressing the poor is one of the sins that cries to heaven for vengeance. I doubt Jesus Christ is going to be swayed by those bishops' excuses when it's time for their Particular Judgements

I believe our archdiocese gets something like 9%. One of the parishes within our Family of Parishes is doing a big remodel of the nave: I was at a meeting and it was reported that over $770k had been collected and $70k was going to the archdiocese.

I mostly donate to my parish and some missionary orders. My archdiocese does an annual collection to support the Prison Ministry, College Ministry, Seminarians, and Retired Religious: I will donate to that too.

That is for the stuff Blackrock invests other people's money in. So you have more money directed at a reduced asset selection, the stock gets diluted in value.

OTOH, money vacates the non-DEI stocks leaving buying opportunities for those who understand the scam.

I sort of liked it when Blackrock, State Street et al were bad mouthing certain classes of stock, because it created value buying opportunities for me while the lemmings had their money thrown at entities that were proven to be money losers (because of their DEI mis-focus).

I think by the time such a case got to SCOTUS, so much evidence of criminality and funding of terrorist groups will have been discovered, that the normies are going to be angry. In such an atmosphere, I don't foresee the justices deciding that the POTUS must spend money on such things.

The nearby parish that is doing the big remodel of the nave is a newer building that seats about 180, also. They currently only do 1 Sunday Mass, but it is packed and the congregation tends to be younger.

The parish where I volunteer, is a bit bigger. Attendance is good, but tends towards a lot of rather elderly. (Frankly, it's the parish with the old hippies). I'm trying to get some sacred art in the building, but the hippies are fighting me. I can see a time when we will only have 1 Sunday Mass, and other parish will have at least 2.

According to the Johannine Epistles, those who teach the erroneous views of the person of Christ as the real Antichrist.

That is, not, as the Dispensationalist claim, or those with an undeveloped form of the doctrine, that the Antichrist is a singular person who is to appear in the future (previous generations say Satan is the Antichrist), but the spirit of Antichrists, which explains 1 Jn 2:22; 4:3.

Europe, EU and Great British more accurately, has so dramatically changed since the end of World War II, that those changes are now straining the NATO alliance, political and economic ties.

Felonious D. 1.0 understood this clearly and cracked open what is inevitable. FD2.0 seems well down the road to sunsetting that order and converting the EU to an extractive source of revenue. This is not going to play well on that side of the Atlantic. I don't know what's ahead for Europe but they are rapidly altering the baseline of what Western Civilization is founded on. We learn through repetition, experience, and by making errors. The trick is to not ever be put in a position where your errors trigger catastrophes until the experience is gained that guides one past all that.

I get there a little after 6:00, so almost no one is there. There's a Rosary at 6:30. And it's pleasant to just sit for a while.

221 A different slice at how to understand this is a journeyman has to put in about 4 years/ 7,000 hours to earn that status. It seems to me that the helicopter pilot had no business commanding that ship in that airspace at that time. Maybe another 1500 hours would be about right but 500 hours? Hell no. We learn through repetition, experience, and by making errors. The trick is to not ever be put in a position where your errors trigger catastrophes until the experience is gained that guides one past all that.

The 500 hour pilot (Lobach) was a trainee. The instructor pilot with 1500 hours was Pilot in Command.

224 Most of the TV/radio news in South Africa is government based. The Press is independent and quite critical of government but TV news is what most people get. Very slanted. Everyone is brainwashed to believe Global Warming scam.
ZA is the international designation for there but people refer to it in print as SA or RSA (Republic of ...).
Yes, SA can also mean Saudi Arabia or South America but context will tell which one most of the time.

I lived in South Africa for many years (about 26), worked with Afrikaners, Indians and Blacks, mainly in academic settings. I decided not to get involved this morning - too much to explain.

There is a possibility the cause was due to an equipment failure though it does look like a human error. The challenge is people need to get experience to have experience and that may be what happened here. The margin for error in that airspace at that time was nothing. Another possibility is the command team is equally at fault for putting those people in that position at that time.

Regarding dispensationalism, are you aware that there are different views on dispensationalism? At least two.
There is the more modern view that uses the term "the church age" to justify the unbiblical "pre-trib" view of the rapture. This term "justifies" them saying God doesn't deal with the church and Israel at the same time.
I say sure, let's just ignore the last two thousand years of history.

The other I know of, that I hold to, is two ages. This current evil, wicked age and the Kingdom Age to come.
The spirit of anti-christ is in the world now. Acting through many individuals.
But there will be a literal anti-christ. Daniel 9:27 speaks of him. As does Paul in 2Thess 2:1-5. And John penned of him and the false prophet in the Revelation given him by Jesus Christ in at least two passages which I'd have to look up.

231 I'm coming up on the first anniversary of running a Minisforum BD770 motherboard which uses the 8-core 7745HX laptop chip. It's been running 24/7 doing video re-compression, and has been rock-solid reliable, fast, quiet, and very power-efficient. One big advantage the mobos have over the NUC format is that, instead of having a custom cpu cooler that can't be repaired if the fan goes out, the mobo uses a standard, replaceable fan.

233 The USDS was an Obamacare office created to make government software better. They were essentially software development for the bureaucracy. Trump renamed the United States Digital Service (USDS) the United States DOGE Service which even kept the acronym the same. Not only did repurposing an appropriate existing department allow Trump to ensure there was funding for DOGE without having to fight with Congress - he also ensured its legality.
