Saturday Night "Club ONT" February 8, 2025 [The 3 D's]

club-raisebeer.jpg

Welcome in one and all to the debut of something! Join us - if you dare - on a foray into a place of such exclusivity that could only happen here at AOSHQ. A collaboration of your Sunday through Wednesday ONT crew - The Disco, The Doggo, and The Dino. This --- is Club ONT!

****

Saturday Night Joke

First Up on the Club ONT Jukebox

***

Rooting interests for tomorrow night

club-sblix.jpg

[Dino says: are residents boarding up windows in Philadelphia preparing for a win or a loss? Guess they're covered either way.]

[Dino also says: We know what you are thinking. We can all agree that the flyover is the best part of the big game (even with a dome). Could the Horde get a preview? Club ONT has you covered. Volume up. Credit to the USMC.]

***

The Club welcomes both of these kinds of people

Club approved products

Whiskey infused toothpicks? Hell yes!

Whether it's Single Malt or Bourbon there is one thing to know about whiskey. The dominant tasting note for both these spirits comes from the oak barrels they are aged in. If at first glance, our toothpicks taste a lot like wood don't be surprised - that's the oak barrel leading the charge.

Whiskey Tooth.JPG

[Disco says: No scotch vs bourbon arguing allowed in the Club. Respect diversity!]

***

Next on the Jukebox - An ongoing mystery

It's been almost 25 years and we still don't know Who Let the Dogs Out.

Whomever it was, the dogs probably had a convincing argument about needing to chase the mailman. Maybe we're just barking up the wrong tree.

***

I swear I wasn't that drunk

Hop Away.JPG

[Doggo says: Must have been all that hoppy beer.]

***

Drink of the night

We've only seen 3 weeks of the Trump 47 term, but we've seen a YUUUUGE amount of drama ramping up already. In honor of that, the Club presents tonight's special drink.

The Drama Queen
- 2 oz. rum
- 1/2 oz. Peach Schnapps
- Lemon-lime soda
- Orange Juice
- A splash of deep state tears

club-dramaqueen.jpg

Fill glass with ice (salt or sugar rim optional).
Pour in rum and Schnapps.
Fill with equal amounts of soda and orange juice.
Stir and serve (garnish optional).
Ideally, share with a moron.

[Disco says: Shouldn't this just be called a Fizzy Navel?]

26 Lots of talk tonight about the NY Judge blocking Elon AND the new treasury secretary from accessing any internal data.
Best analogy: this is like the Germans retreating through Russia, 1944. They fought endless delaying actions, very skillfully. But the end was never in doubt; they could only delay, the war was already lost. The ruling is ridiculous, it will not stand.

I'm no lawyer, but I read that the Hawaiian judge issued this ruling under an ex parte order, which is supposed to be for urgent, time-critical matters. Also, the Dem client groups were there to make their case but the Executive Branch was not allowed representation in that proceeding.

Wonder what could possibly be so urgent that they can't allow the literal Secretary of the Treasury to have read access to the Treasury DB? That's totally normal, right?

185 Knox hasn’t had a genuine audit since the 1950s, there was a dog and pony made for TV thing in the early 1970s where they opened a single vault and showed it stuffed with coin-melt bars.

The woo-woo websites used to have some interesting theories, Knox was said to have some hidden tunnels or loading ramps or somesuch, claiming it was basically emptied long ago, military deuce and a half trucks spiriting it away.

FDR’s EO outlawing gold stated it was “against public policy” and was due to “hoarding”. I thought this was kind of cheeky, because confiscating ten thousand tons from the American public, yet melting them all down into bars, throwing it all in a vault underground where no one can see it, somehow that isn’t “hoarding”. Three countries outlawed gold as far as I can tell. Soviets, Nazis, and good ole FDR.

Congress (theoretically) could dissolve the lot of them? I’ve long thought federal judge impeachment should be fairly routine. 2 or 3 year, at least some years. Maybe they would get their mind right. How many federal judges have ever been 86’d? I bet it is countable on one hand, amiright?

How is the number of abortions actually monitored? When someone takes abortion pills, do they have to account for a dead fetus?

I'm wondering if the supposed rise in abortions was just a rise in women obtaining abortion pills. Remember how they said they were stocking up in preparation for losing their abortion rights? If the distribution of pills increased due to panicky abortion supporters but the pills haven't been used yet, has that stockpiling of pills been counted as abortions even if those pills are still in the medicine cabinet? Maybe I should check for a corresponding dip in the live birth rate.

Not even co-equal. The judiciary was mostly created by Congress, not by the Constitution. Its jurisdiction is defined by Congress. Congress can strip the ability of courts to hear cases.

The only court created in the Constitution is SCOTUS, whose actual definition is left up to an act of Congress. SCOTUS’ original jurisdiction is quite limited.

Congress controls SCOTUS’ appellate jurisdiction and can strip it of its ability to hear cases.

The *rate* of abortion has been in steep decline for decades. It peaked in the late 70s. It’s possible it has seen a slight uptick, but I doubt it’s a serious change in trends.

The number of abortions per-100k births in the late 70s was in the high 20s. Today it’s 11-14. More than 50% decline. More babies than ever are being saved from abortion.

Strongly disagree. The courts are usurping the President’s authority here, and making a mockery of the Constitution. Accepting this state of affairs because they *might* agree with us is weakness. It tacitly accepts that the courts have final veto over every Presidential and Congressional action. Total nonsense.

The courts will drag this out forever, if allowed. DACA was created by illegal EO in 2012, and the courts are *still* debating it and blocking resolution.

I have to disagree. All these court proceedings WILL lose, and the Judges know it... but in the meantime the graft goes on and records are 'misplaced'...

Judges today are slowing down perfectly legal actions, by saying 'well, we have to have a couple years to think about whether you can to that or not'... which is bullshit.

$40 billion a year, is over $3 billion per month, going out to shit... if Judges can say well.... we're going to take 6 months before we tell you you ARE doing something legal by stopping this... that's $20 Billion out the door to BS.

Posted by: Romeo13 at February 08, 2025 11:55 PM (QAkQ3)

Exactly. I made a joke the other day that our three branches are the judiciary, the unionized government employees, and NGOs.

But there are people on our side who are like “Hey, let’s hear them out. Maybe Trump should run all of decisions by Hawaiian judges who despise him.”

Whatever use judicial review—which appears nowhere in the Constitution and which was dreamt up entirely by the courts themselves—once had, it’s long since become a tool of making any right-wing policy impossible to implement.

The left succeeds because of the ratchet effect. When the left is in charge: CLICK-CLICK-CLICK their policy is advanced.
When the right is in charge, the judiciary and bureaucratic deep state act as the pawl, making sure no backward rotation is possible.

We are far too close to an Imperial Presidency already. It may seem fun when our side is on top, but we’ll regret abandoning constitutional order. The proper constitutional (and need I say conservative) position is to allow the higher courts to overrule and discipline the lower courts.

But...but...but part of the classification process is you don't 'over-classify'.

Material (info) is 'classified' because of the potential degree of harm to national security. In what possible way would Letitia James or Alvin Bragg need to access information that was critical to US National Security?

More likely they are 'over-classifying' information to keep it from prying eyes or to avoid embarrassment or to conceal a crime - which potentially is a crime in itself and which the annual training specifically says not to do.

Trump is taking away too much free money and exposing massive corruption, and he may have an actual insurrection on his hands. He is exposing people who have no compunction of running a revolution on allies of the US. He has to have full legitimacy to face it down. Ignoring the courts doesn't support his legitimacy.
Fortunately, he is hitting in so many areas that this judge's actions isn't stopping anything except in one area, and it looks like the stay is based on feelz, and not actual case law. So we have that going for us.

You’re the one who is abandoning the Constitutional order in favor of an unworkable system of heads they win, tails we lose.

The Democrats never do this, which is why they’ve won nearly every policy battle of the last 60 years. How many times did SCOTUS tell Biden he couldn’t forgive student loans? How many times did he ignore them and do it again?

I’d prefer it if Congress strongly reiterate that point by dissolving the Federal circuit and district courts, but Congress has been derelict in its duties for decades and is happy to let the President, the judiciary, and the bureaucracy duke it out.

But the President is under no obligation to listen to the courts. They are the weakest branch of government, and they are operating far outside the illicit powers John Marshall seized two centuries ago.

We contain it in the toroids with massive amounts of supermagnets, with massive electricity to keep it contained...

My gripe/question is: Then what do you do with it? - The plasma will destroy/melt any material on earth - not to mention the neutrons also doing that, so, to get any useful commercial energy out of it, like producing steam to run a turbine generator...

Is there not a massive energy loss to get a transfer medium to work?It can't use the direct energy in that plasma. So, No net energy produced, by many orders of magnitude.

Just use that original electricity to run a steam turbine, at normal temperatures. The 'million degree plasma' is a waste of effort.

I was reading up on the actual technology needed to make a star trek transporter happen. Holy shit, we won't see that for 1000's of years. First thing would be to record the location, x,y,and z axis, and state of every atom in the body, and if you recorded that on old floppy disks the stack would reach 2/3 the way across or galaxy. Then you need to rip the atoms apart with temperatures found in the core of our sun, and which would take more energy than is currently being used on the entire planet. It was mind numbing.

I don’t know what that means. I’ve been saying for over a decade Congress just needs to dissolve the Federal courts and reform them. Strip SCOTUS of its power to hear appeals. Congress should reassert its preeminence over the judiciary.

It's been a Demo/Repub coalition for quite a while. The Uniparty if you will with each playing their own part in the theater in DC.

The Rebups have become so weak that Trump was able to steal their basically disenfranchised base from them and form a new party, The MAGA party if you will.

The voters have given this new party legitimacy as they are currently operating under the Repub banner.

There's really no "old school" money left for the Repubs.

We are witnessing a Democratic Revolution, lead by a one man who just doesn't give up.

Up until Barack Obama became president leaders of the Neo-NAZIs/KKK members were generally identifiable. You could go read about their histories either from previous case files or the work of investigative journalists.

Somehow since then though they've all become ghosts. They show up for rallies where the FNM snaps up pictures, while they are all masked up, and somehow no one actually ever gets an identifying picture of one...they are like space aliens - our phone cameras and internet keep getting better but the pictures never get less blurry...

455 JS,

Sadly this vision of the future is failed. There just are not enough "young coders" out there that can operate at this level. No way.

Elon has had his pick of the best of the best. These these folks are the same caliber of all those young faces you see cheering on the Starship on launch day.

The current effort is perfect. It's a freaking revolution that no one has ever seen before and the opposition is totally unprepared to defend itself. The Prefect Storm of inspired and disenfranchised youth and the Bureaucracy responsible but you can only take that so far.

Sadly these guys burn out. So you need to find folks with a balanced approach to life/work if you want to go for the long haul.

Revolution is for the Young. but that is what was needed.

Everything moves in cycles so we need to plan for things that can keep up the idea when the urgency has died dow,

Rebuilding our culture around education is a good start. I think the "Asians" have embraced tis for a while now.

It's curious that Trump will be attending. Maybe this is true, and those two facts are connected somehow.

It seems like Trump has been laying low, probably for security reasons, so it seems odd that he would go.

As far as the game goes, it's gotten to the point where it's like pro wrestling - you'd have to be an idiot to think it's legit.

They're not even trying to hide it. Just look at the Super Bowl logo, which was designed before the championship games, and which uses the team colors of KC and PHI. The KC colors are much more prominent, so probably the fix is in for the "threepeat".

You all may have seen this, but there was an attempt to smear Charlie Kirk and his TPUSA as "getting USAID funding". This is the enemy trying to hit us with our own weapon, as well as say, for the likes of Bill Kristol to say "See, there's nothing untoward about getting taxpayer funds, your own MAGAt groups get it too".

Here's the problem. Legitimate, squeaky clean charities and non-profits live in this same ecosystem as the dirty whores. And many are going to have suspicion thrown at them, because they get a few bucks in some chain from the dirty players.

The slush funds do indeed give money to legitimate outfits, so they can at least claim they do.

It's the same thing as when you find the mob or drug dealers have been giving money to say the local church, or other legitimate charities.

Elon is on "no non-duplication" in the SS payment system. The same SS numbers can get multiple payments without being flagged.

Also, the system is sending out wads of entitlements to people who don't have SS numbers or even any taxpayer ID number or anything like that.

Also, the treasury payment system basically pays anything that comes into it. There are not entries or notes to "sign off" on the payment, with what it's supposedly for, etc.
