Happy February, the days are getting longer and the Commie Libs are crying. Yup, it's going to be a good month. Just a few house keeping matters to go over with before the Prayer Revival (Rulz for those of you in Nekoosa.) 1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate away. 2) Be kind. Be nice. And please no jumping on the furniture. 3) Running with sharp objects without a back up plan is an invitation to be laughed at. 4) Have a great weekend!

Another big long rain and say goodby to 40 million people. ------- And say goodbye to most every piece of Chinese shit that the US imports; 90% of Amazon's crap, building materials, car parts, electronics, clothes, etc. The Yangtze River in China is probably the single most used trade route on the globe. Something like 90% of all of China's exports use that river, the ports along it and access to the Pacific. All that goes away tomorrow and our economy will collapse within a month. A huge spiritual oppression has been lifted, and while we still live in a fallen world filled with sorrows, the sun seems to be just a little brighter these days, the clouds less oppressive.
There is a tremendous optimism that I haven't felt since the 80s. A lot of evils are about to be revealed, and that will be shocking but necessary. Much will be explained. At the same time, our enemies are in total panic mode, unlike anything we've ever seen. Literally screaming, weeping, utterly unhinged. They know what they have done, and they know what is coming. Missus Muldoon flew with a private air ambulannce company which ccontracted to transport basically stable patients from Point A to Point B on a non-emergency basis. Essentially the same as this Mexican company that staffed the plane involved in the crash. A typical case would be a wealthy person on vacation who had a heart attack, was treated locally but then elected to be flown back home for ongoing recuperation. That sounds similar to that family's situation. Probably referred to CHOP for a specialized procedure (quite possibly a cardiac surgery). I haven't been able to find any specifics.

76 Missus Muldoon flew with a private air ambulannce company which ccontracted to transport basically stable patients from Point A to Point B on a non-emergency basis.
Posted by: muldoon at February 01, 2025 09:06 AM (/iMjX) It's expensive, but not wildly so. That said, we used a private ground ambulance to get my mom from an NJ hospital to my sister's FL home to live - 5 years ago, that was $6K total. Out of pocket, but when you need to move someone, in the range of the doable. My mom couldn't/wouldn't fly, so we couldn't go that route (although not sure my mom's assets could have afforded the medical flight as easily - she paid for her trip). You get a driver and 2 medical for all these trips...our medical were nurses. Posted by: Nova Local at February 01, 2025 09:11 AM (exHjb) 90

My son works for the Department of Defense at a Navy base a few miles away from us. Yes, there is a Navy base in southern Indiana. It's a weapons thing. The high muckety mucks had a hair on fire, all department heads confab to discuss the "Holy shit, what if they RIF us?" This is to determine what and/or who would be cut if the "go back to the office" thing doesn't downsize enough people and Trump says "cut more".
I have not heard or read anything about there being any cuts from DoD. But the boy spawn is 30 yrs old, got married in June, has a baby on the way in March, and is getting a new home (complete with mortgage, insurance, new utilities installed, and septic system install) built right next door to us. He may be in near panic mode. I told him to relax and stop worrying about this. He will go back to the office and be very productive and IF there are more cuts, he will be fine. I told him Trump is doing this specifically to carve out the globalist commie scum that Oblabo spread around every agency headquarters in D.C.. I hope I'm right. grammie, been waiting for news on the Rev. Sorry to hear there were complications, but if it works out in the end, count your blessings. That was a rough road. Prayers for his full healing.
Had a personal sympathetic interest. Every time I've seen the doc about reversal on my ostomy, it's been "see me again in six months."* Not sure if or when I might be stitched back together. *Okay, to be fair, the surgeon is just giving my body time to heal from the last surgery, before putting my old bod back under the knife. (Or he's waiting for me to have some other major problem so he won't have to go back in. Hah ahhah gurk.) Had a colostomy bag (with complications) since the first life-saving surgery Oct before last, and a better-behaved ileostomy since repair surgery in April. That's sixteen months, so far. One of these days the aggravation may exceed my sense of humor about it all, but not yet. It is good to be alive.😛 Now hoping for the best for jim in kalifornia. Coffee's done brewing. It appears as if the plane struck the sidewalk next to Cottman Ave near the mall, spraying debris and flaming fuel across the road and into the rowhouses across the road. There were 2 burned out rowhouses and several burned out cars. Cars parked along Cottman Ave appear heavily damaged many with their windows blown out.

The ocompany my wife flew with would submit bids on a nationwide clearinghouse sort of deal. Requests for transport from A to B would come in, various companies would bid on the flight, low bid won the contract. Flight crew and nurse would fly from Denver to point of origin, pick up the patient, fly to destination. They would then stay at a hotel at that city until their next bid came in. Could be a matter of several days, but less costly than making a separate deadhead flight back to home base. She would be deployed like that for a couple weeks at a time.

Sanders was kicked out of a hippie commune. He discovered that the Time-Life be sure to wear some flowers in your hair nonsense was just that, a media creation. Real hippies are sort of conservative, it takes work to make it happen, and layabouts and trustafarians need not apply. He then went into politics and never had a real job since.

Minor story that might get a lot bigger:
Musk and his team have locked several key, long-term Office of Personal Management employees out of the system. Behind the crying the true reason takes shape: They can't see what records they are accessing or who they are looking at. And they can't change the records. Someone on Team Trump knows how to find hidden embeds and the left is terrified. And bigger: That's where all the "office of DEI" hires are permanently recorded. You know what yesterday was? Just my observation about the DCA aircraft tragedy:
There are pre-defined air routes to and from DCA and every possible heliport or general aviation airport inside a 30 mile circle around D.C. Military/VIP's have their routes, commercial and general have theirs. It's been like this for decades. With GPS it's almost pre-programmable. And in all that time there hasn't been an accident of this magnitude before. But the odds of it happening were astronomically high. That it hadn't happened until the other night is remarkable. And IMO it will likely be discovered that there were mistakes made by more than one person(s) that resulted in the crash. If it was deliberate, we'll never know. — They did kinda. The controller asked the helicopter do you have a visual on the CRJ. This was when they were getting close to each other. Helicopter replied yes. And tower said something like go around the crj. Helicopter said ok we will. From everything I’ve seen and analysis provided, the helicopter pilot fucked up. It was 100 feet above the maximum altitude to start with and most likely mistook the plane behind the CRJ as the CRJ. At its core I think the fault lies which whomever decided having helicopters fly in between landing lanes at Reagan was a good idea. To me that’s insane. Tower control can only do so much. I was interested in RFJ Jr's assertion that "38% of teens have diabetes or pre-diabetes."
That's a higher number than either the CDC or American Diabetes Association cite, and they are not shy about pumping up the statistics to drive a narrative. Certainly not that amount of teens have clinical diabetes. But it may be believable when you consider the term "pre-diabetes". The population distribution curve for Hgb A1c looks something like this: https://is.gd/819Evm The median level is about 6.9 The population mean is about 6.3 A level over 6.4 is considered diabetes. Pre-diabetes is defined as levels from 5.7 to 6.4 The cutoff value for calling someone pre-0diabetes is well below the population average level. (see alsso definitions of obesity or hypertension) DEFINING DISEASE DOWNWARD I have a different term for pre-diabetes. And IMO it will likely be discovered that there were mistakes made by more than one person(s) that resulted in the crash.
1. ATC re-routed CRJ to land on runway which would have it crossing flight path of helo. 2. ATC's alert to helo about CRJ was non-specific. 3. Helo busted their ceiling, albeit gradually - as though they were looking for a jet rather than at their altimeter. I believe those are the three things which, combined, had the biggest impact on putting all the required ingredients together for the crash. And then it happened. I don't (today) believe it was deliberate. Posted by: I used to have a different nic at February 01, 2025 10:45 AM (ExV1e) 292

"I don't know why, but I think that's kinda neat.
I mean, what's the evolutionary path where that was successfully tested?" Similar to the density of water decreasing slightly as it gets close to freezing. This is unique among fluids and the reason why ice floats. Otherwise ponds and lakes would freeze from the bottom up, killing anything living in them. Such a well designed molecule. Some issues bugging Las Cruces residents.
Why does Insurance Specialists have a drive through window? Will we be able to watch the movie Protector when it is done being filmed in Las Cruces? A recent Chicago transplant is worried about getting stopped by the cops because his car window tint is too dark. A different transplant wanted "spacific" thoughts about refrigerated air conditioning. And lastly for now, a different potential transplant is curious if it is possible to buy a home and have a job in Las Cruces. What's strange is, this was always a hypothetical, for the entirety of his life. I took for granted that I would outlive him, one way or another, and now that we're here, it's so big, so total, I'm not really experiencing it as a sadness or a pain. Malone seems to lump them together. Regardless, nucleic acids pose an ethical minefield, fraught with hazards. I am not a fan of people throwing such terms around as memes. My brother Paul passed away last Sunday. Despite the hospital asking us to put him in hospice, we declined, but God took his suffering from him anyway. He was only 58, but had suffered for decades.
It’s been a difficult year. He was bedridden the entire time, and diminished daily. My wife and I had almost the same dream, right before he last went into the hospital. My brother was happy, well, and walking, and I can only think it was God’s grace that we both dreamt such a similar dream (neither she nor I ever dreamed about my brother before). Please keep Paul in your prayers. Posted by: Justin Pinochet Castreau at February 01, 2025 03:02 PM (l5yVc) 369
