That's so reassuring! I'm in my 40s, and I'm starting to fret that I've blown it as far as achieving some of the things I've always wanted to do. That some of my life goals are passing me by. But I'll probably look back at this period in my 60s and be like aw, I was such a baby then. Trying to just move forward and not worry I've used up my chance on come of my big goals.

Chicago Gets me thinking. Can the lost and degraded areas of the country be reclaimed? I live in southern CA, and for years i'd been thinking I might have to flee. But now, last couple of years, I've been thinking that maybe pushing back is the thing to do. How, I'm trying to figure out.

I've been to Goblin Valley, the place where they fought the rock monster and had the creepy murderous mini aliens. The weird mushroom shaped rock mounds are called hoodoos. That whole area is extremely desolate and very beautiful.

Be happy or try to be. My sons in college finished me off at 45yrs, but both vote Trump and are still male, so we did pretty good. Happily married to the guy I met in college and all that goes with it. We age together. Life is good. I know I am lucky.

I can still walk up stairs and swim laps, so I'm not Biden yet! I had good jobs fall in my lap and I loved most of the docs and nurses I worked with at a med center. However, the last job of nitwits (females) in a tiny dept, left me thrilled to retire, and life is much easier.Moved back to our college town and mountains and all is good.

You're roughly the age of my sons. They still like me most of the time and want us to travel with them, etc. You are still a pup!

I am 70 and still kicking. I think my one goal is to live to see my eldest have a kid that drove him as crazy as he drove me. Hopefully soon. Then life will have gone full circle and I can blast off.

Can't think of a thing I would have done differrently. No regrets (ok, maybe one and very brief and whatever). We are living in a time of amazing history. I've always been pretty happy, and simply snarked my way through the Barry Error, and ignored as much as possible with Biden.

I'm not flinging my beret like Mary Tyler Moore or anything, but I am pretty happy most days. We've had a crap winter of not a lot of snow, and that's a bummer but life goes on. Grandmothers both lived into their 90's. So I ain't done yet! I can still train my grandkids to be deplorable people!

Interesting. Since women tend to live longer I expect to live as long as my mother, not my father. My grandmothers and all of my great aunts outlived my grandpas and uncles by many years. That seems typical among my friends too.

The second best laughter with kids is when you realize they have the same sense of humor as you do when a bit older. But baby laughter til they fall over is fantastic. We do it as well when we laugh til we cry. Nothing better for the ole endorphins.

Ok, I just thought of one thing better for endorphins that is not laughter nor involving children, but will skip over that in my Ted Talk. It can sometimes make children. I need to stop now.

216 176 Be happy or try to be. My sons in college finished me off at 45yrs, but both vote Trump and are still male, so we did pretty good. Happily married to the guy I met in college and all that goes with it. We age together. Life is good. I know I am lucky.

I can still walk up stairs and swim laps, so I'm not Biden yet! I had good jobs fall in my lap and I loved most of the docs and nurses I worked with at a med center. However, the last job of nitwits (females) in a tiny dept, left me thrilled to retire, and life is much easier.Moved back to our college town and mountains and all is good.

You're roughly the age of my sons. They still like me most of the time and want us to travel with them, etc. You are still a pup!

I was given paragoric with opium for diarrhea as a kid (or as my son called it, and I think the spelling should be changed, "dire rear"). Tasted nasty but worked very well.

Saw a meme/photo once for a cough/cold tonic that should be brought back with opium and other magic stuff. I could support that but doubt RFK,Jr would be on board.

When I have a cold I want any magic potion to put me to sleep. At least for awhile. I hate colds and have survived surgeries with less moaning.

Unsure if we will be around for our toddler girl's entry into teens, but she's already crazy. This is the mellow son's daughter, and he doesn't deserve it.

The other son deserves it. Once when he was in college I honestly thought I'd have blood shooting out my ears cartoon style he made me so mad during a phone call.

It involved us coming home from being out of town and he was watching our dog. There was evidence of him using our house as a retreat with a girl. And inviting her dog to pee in the half bath, the icing on the cake. Then he went back to Tampa and this was what we pieced together. I think I blacked out some of the details in rage. He had about 30 girlfriends from HS through adulthood and I am not kidding. But not ghey.

Otherwise he was fairly good except for never admitting he was wrong from age 5yrs and stuff like that. Also needing money at times. His brother was a walk in the park easy.

Interesting. Since women tend to live longer I expect to live as long as my mother, not my father. My grandmothers and all of my great aunts outlived my grandpas and uncles by many years. That seems typical among my friends too.

Women have that extra X which means they have a spare in reserve for things managed by the X. If a gene on the male's one X is genetically broken then there is no spare to take up the slack.
