Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 1/29/25![]() A Massachusetts resident has been taken into custody at the U.S. Capitol after allegedly intending to assassinate Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, according to court documents. Ryan Michael “Reily” English approached Capitol Police on Monday afternoon, voluntarily surrendering himself and stating his possession of weapons, including Molotov cocktails and a knife.English reportedly had planned to target Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and House Speaker Mike Johnson. However, his focus shifted to Bessent after learning about the Senate’s vote on Bessent’s nomination as Treasury Secretary. English’s arrest occurred approximately three hours before Bessent’s appointment was confirmed. . . In the affidavit filed in federal court, English claimed he considered attacking Bessent by throwing Molotov cocktails or stabbing him if an opportunity arose. The affidavit outlined the discovery of two Molotov cocktails, constructed from vodka bottles and cloth wicks soaked in hand sanitizer, and additional weapons during a search conducted by officers. . . Wow, how positively Jihadist of him!I say that because wait, there's more! And while it's more about the #1 with a bullet (heh) issue, the securing of our border, there's a bit of a twist that relates to the aforementioned Bessent story so let's see if you can spot it. (Fred Rogers voice) Sure, I knew you could! The two individuals suspected in the shooting death of a U.S. Border Patrol officer near the Canadian border in Vermont last week are believed to be tied to a transgender militant group. Teresa “Milo” Youngblut and Felix “Ophelia” Baukholt were stopped by the Border Patrol officer along Interstate 91 in Coventry, Vermont, with the officer and Baukholt—a German national—subsequently dying from wounds received in a shootout. The revelation is raising concerns about a possible trans terror cell operating domestically in the U.S.Surveillance on the pair began when staff at a motel in Lyndonville, Vermont., reported their suspicious behavior, noting tactical clothing and weapons. Law enforcement asserts that Baukholt was armed during the confrontation and was fatally shot after attempting to use his weapon. . . . . . Felix Baukholt, a German national, was living in the U.S. on an H-1B visa. Baukholt, described by acquaintances as a youth math prodigy, worked as a quantitative trader in New York after graduating from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Meanwhile, Youngblut—identifying with neo-pronouns—has been charged with using a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm during the assault that killed agent David Maland, an Air Force veteran. Being treated at a medical facility in New Hampshire, Youngblut awaits her initial court appearance scheduled for January 27.Terrific, German transexual terrorists! or Tourists if you use Arafat's elocution. I can just picture the scene in the Fuhrer-Bunker "Steiner will Tuck and transition!!!" Psaki-psircling back to the desperate attempts to derail Trump's appointees, in light of all of the above, I find this story particularly revolting on a number of levels: Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) on Monday pushed an anonymous smear about Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director nominee Kash Patel just days ahead of his confirmation hearing on Thursday. Durbin, in a letter sent to Trump administration officials dated January 27, 2025, said he received “highly credible information” that Patel “broke protocol” regarding hostage rescues when he commented to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) “without authorization” about a successful hostage rescue during the first Trump administration in October 2020. Durbin claimed the rescue of two Americans who had been held captive by Iranian-backed Houthi militants was still in progress when Patel commented to the newspaper. Durbin claimed that the WSJ published comments from Patel at 10:55 a.m. ET, several hours before the hostages were in confirmed custody of the U.S.Funny, I don't remember hearing this bastard say peep when John Kerry was secretly traveling to Paris to engage in back channel wheeling and dealing with the Iranians during Trump's first term, when he was no longer Secretary of State. And in light of assassination attempts on Trump, as well as acts of terrorism motivated by politics and ideology such as the mass shootings at Christian schools by Transexuals, Dick Durbin has yet to be called to account for his known and direct connection and communications with one James Hodgkinson, a Bernie Sanders supporter and a near mass assassin who critically wounded Steve Scalise while spraying him and his GOP colleagues at a softball field in 2017. In the spirit of bipartisanship, let's get Joe Scarborough to grill Durbin, since Joe himself is to the best of my knowledge has a whiff of suspicion about him...Yeah, his 28 -year-old intern keels over in his office from a supposed undiagnosed heart ailment and strikes her head on his desk and dies. Happens every day, Mika! All of this is the Deep State doing whatever it can to try and outlast Trump, and once again lord over us with an iron fist. It has been a time of lies. And not just any lies. Not the white lies, the fibs, the minimal impact ones of transitory hurt feelings, spared feelings, or boosted egos. No, these lies are the far-reaching, life-changing kind, vicious lies that destroy good people, innocent people. These are the kind of lies that are blasted from the proverbial mountain top, the kind of lies so egregious it makes Moses’s top ten list. These lies may be outright fabrications, mischaracterizations, or lethal lies formed from truths cut and altered and then pasted together to give the lies the sound and feel of truth. Since there are multiple sides to the truth, the lies may masquerade as one of those sides. But lying is not a side. The middle ground between lies and truth is a lie. And no lie would be complete without the liars hypocritically projecting their own offenses, including dishonesty, onto the maligned. . . . . . In this era of lies, liars are awarded honors, given prizes, granted presidential medals, or promoted to prestigious positions. As for the truth, the price of truth becomes so hyperinflationary, having to be paid with sacrifices so draconian — cancelled careers, ostracism, bankruptcy, prison — only the very rich with the steeliest spines and the most golden of hearts are able to afford truth. Truth is at the core of what is interesting, what is funny, what is art, what is sensible, what is wise, and what is right. Losing truth means losing all of that. In classic Capraesque fashion, an unlikely hero in the form of a blustering billionaire came along. This master salesman and self-promoting alleged narcissist somehow seems to be about the only one around with enough common sense and compassion and courage to pardon pariahs, speak the consequential truths, and open up the American First Amendment frontiers to enable truth and its byproducts to flourish. Both the dystopian nightmare of Kafka and the American dream of Capra unexpectedly came to America. Their competing visions were prophetic more than fictional. In the 2024 election they clashed. Capra won. It’s a wonderful election. America is being fitted with wings where the iron fists of the state had been tightening its grip. As long as we continue to speak truth, as thoughtfully and courageously as much as we can, and guard those truth-telling and truth-seeking angels, America will get to keep those wings.Have a great day. So, why are GOP lawmakers in so-called “red states” working overtime to deny their voters’ wishes?
The GOPe has spent decades thwarting the will of the people. They cannot claim that they were unaware of the public's wishes because they routinely campaign on them but, once in office, the money form their lords and masters speaks louder. This will continue until more of them lose their seats. Fortunately for us, the public is finding it easier to learn about these assholes and showing a greater willingness to kick them to the curb. After four years spent denying that inflation was a problem, Democrats are suddenly screaming at President Donald Trump for not having lowered the price of eggs already.
Of course, the price of eggs had absolutely nothing to do with a Biden official declaring by fiat that some chicken somewhere might have had a virus that would wipe all of mankind so that tens of millions of chickens had to be slaughtered. They did this several times over the past four years. You can't have USDA officials pop up from time to time and take a broadsword though the domestic meat industry and not expect meat prices to rise. Narrowly focused AI can be very useful. Medical expert systems can keep up to date on the latest information and are less likely to miss something although, like humans, they have a fixed set of biases they cannot overcome. Generative AI can be very useful (albeit already dangerous) in producing video/images without using thousands of man-hours or paying millions to petulant actors. General AI is useful for the people who own/run general AI companies as the ill informed will throw money at them. The pitch is that they'll produce an unbiased uber-genius system which can make all out decisions for us, can do all our work for us, can free us from every duty in our lives (thereby making them meaningless). It'll be WALL-E only we'll all be pretty and slim (unless that makes us fat-phobic) and nothing will ever go wrong as our computer-slave intellect controls every aspect of our lives for our benefit. Basically, the people who believe general AI will be great also believe that actual communism can work and would be great. I hate it, truth be told. To me, it's just another biased tool to use against people who hold my beliefs. If you ask it any kind of political question/political controversy, it seems to side with whatever the leftist take would be, couched in more gentle wordery. Just yesterday, I asked Grok about Carter giving away the Panama Canal. It started off with a definitive "he did not give it away" screed. I dunno, I just find it stupid, and it's obviously going to be used to control the intended message. YMMV

Trump, you magnificent bastard!
In the interest of pointing out misinformation. In Dec 2023 there was a decision by the World Court, that gave water above land shelves to those countries and ruled they were not international water. The renaming of the Gulf of America isn't renaming the whole gulf. It is renaming the area above our land shelves as our territory. You can't exactly put signs or border walls in the middle of the ocean. So for legal reasons, we need to identify these new changes on the map, so that new borders are made clear to maritime traffic. Those new maps will set the latitude and longitudes of where our border begins, or the Gulf of America. So all maritime traffic knows when they are leaving international waters. This is where knowing what is happening in the world, will help you filter out drama, and help you understand the legalities in your own country. This had nothing to do with Trump's ego, he is strengthening our borders and making sure all maritime traffic understands the changes that happened in 2023. Putting legal protections in place to help us enforce any military actions or incursion in the future. Posted by: rickb223 at January 29, 2025 08:27 AM (zmGDy) 117

It appears they (some kind of trans Nazis) have killed up to 5 or 6 people. At least 1 person murdered was a witness to 2 people killed that were landlords to people associated with the group.

as much as you put in, you get out. and you keep tweaking. I never have to buy stock anymore. I do feel badly about it.
I was doing some work for Scwabb where the creativity department (that does all of their communications) wanted to curate their digital image stock using descriptive taxonomy. "Two men, wearing green, fishing in a canoe in a mountain lake" then rummage around and find some images that would be along those lines. I remember then that this was a fool's errand because over a decade ago, AI images were threatening future Getty Images contributors. There are people today who will reject AI generated art for their article, even though the art is perfectly mated to the article, and would rather re-use some tired images that they already paid the license fees for. If it was that simple. The researchers have to bubble up their work unit through various levels of the university management, PR departments and investment services. By the time that work even finds its way to an outside interloping article writer, the narrative is wildly altered to better match the various editors view on the world and what they think best represents the research efforts in gathering more research funds. Its always about the money. When you read about any research, think in terms of how this benefits a lobbyist in the art of securing more funding. There were occasional flare-ups of interest in some situations, such as the former president's handling of classified documents or his involvement in his son's foreign business dealings, but when it came to stories like the potential ousting of Jean-Pierre or rumors of sexual harassment in the first lady's office, they turned a blind eye." The most interesting part of the early days of Trump's second term is Elon Musk retweeting stuff from @Datarepublican about the size, breadth, depth, and entangled nature of grant funding from the federal government to NGOs.
The latest is Musk retweeting a supposition that the 13% of the US workforce that works for the government at different levels but is also supplemented by the non-profit sector that seems to be pretty much entirely funded by government, making it more than 25% of the workforce. Assume 95% of that workforce votes Democrat, in no small part because their paycheck depends on it, and that's roughly 24% of the American workforce which should represent a similar number of...the voting public. Morning, JJ. Larry Correia agrees with you on the glory that has been Trump's first week:
"Trump is moving so fast that by the time the libs decide how to spin their freak out, that issue is already decided, and he's moved onto the next thing for them to freak out about. The NPCs can't handle the rapid downloads, so they're stuck a week behind, looking like morons still crying about rocket man's salute. We had a trade war with Columbia that was over in an hour. By the time the news decided how to spin that as the end of the world, it was already over. ...based on Trump's first term I figured the democrats/media would just manipulate and manhandle him again...apparently Trump spent the last four years getting increasingly pissed off at the left while they tried to destroy his life, throw him in prison, and shoot him, so that now he's come in like an absolute wrecking ball..." Form the Capra article
It's why Trump won. Literally hundreds of thousands of poll watchers. The problem with the vote rigging is that most of it is illegal, but judges will allow it to slide if it's not caught immediately. The RNC was on its toes, especially around the presidential fight. Vote splitting made senate races easier to steal, especially in WI and NV, the old fashioned way of last minute pallets of votes. They stymied most of the early vote cheating, but couldn't make enough of a dent in the late game stuff. The RNC was led by Michael Whatley who suddenly turned the RNC into a vote getting machine after nearly a decade of McDaniel. He's still in charge and has said that they're already working on 2026.
