Before the new quote that will doom the already-doomed $350 million+ movie that's tracking on the same level as the bomb The Eternals, I'll just say that this isn't Anthony Mackie's invention. Marvel Comics is a leftwing asylum for untalented transgenders and fake lesbians (white women who get jobs by claiming to be LGBT, even if they're married to dudes), and they hate America and have long used Captain America to attack America. He's Captain Anti-America, and has been for decades.
Like the time where he unmasked the head of the terrorist organization The Serpent Society and it turned out to be... then-President Richard Nixon. Anthony Mackie played Captain America's partner, the Falcon. But Marvel decided that for some reason the world needed a black Captain America, so they gave the Falcon the White Man's hand-me-down mantle. This failed in the comics, and it's about to fail spectacularly at the box office. Brave New World's struggles to surpass Eternals' and Quantumania's pre-sales are cause for concern considering how both films finished at the box office. Eternals ended with $402 million worldwide, with critics and audiences lamenting it as one of the MCU's most disappointing entries. Meanwhile, Quantumania, which stars the since-fired Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, started well with $120.4 million domestically during its four-day opening in 2023, the best of the Ant-Man trilogy. However, Quantumania's momentum slowed significantly among middling reviews (46% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes), ending with $476.1 million at the global box office against a $330 million budget, only earning a small profit.To hell with Marvel. To hell with Disney. To hell with ABC and George Stephanopolous and David Muir. May their stock price fall to $40. And to hell with the entire demonic media.

Another Marvel project is Armor Wars.
To be centered around War Machine.
It's been in development for 5 years. It's being rehauled completely because Secret Invasion, which came out in the last couple of years, was a huge disaster that everyone hated and it was supposed to lead into Armor Wars.
Long pre-production periods get expensive. Writers, directors, art design that keeps going and restarting.
Disney had a good 2024, but 2025 feels...messy.

That was a calculated risk: you weren't supposed to like Azrael. They put him in the bat suit in order to demonstrate to all the "why doesn't Batman kill??" people why they would not actually like that. But the writers and editors underestimated how badly people hated Azbats and had to cut the story line short.

I now think that Watergate was 100% setup by the IC for Nixon. Probably, the Dems promised that they would look away for a good 20+ years, if they could remove Nixon...or something.

The generic number I've always seen is 60/40, 60 to the studios.
But each film is contracted individually, I believe, with theaters, so a big film like a Marvel film will see higher percentages in the early days of release and lower the longer its in theaters. Smaller films won't see that.
I remember reading the unprecedented deal that Lucas got for Episode 1 where he was getting 90% of ticket sales the first week.

I watched The Black Hole a few weeks ago (about the 4th time over the years). This last time I discovered it is a brilliant piece of religious fiction. It starts off with "It looks like something out of Dante's Inferno" and ends with the Hell scene. The entire movie is suffused with themes of life, death, the unknown, God, faith. Watch it from a religion standpoint.
It would make an excellent movie to start religious discussion in a group setting.

I never tried.
They replaced some show I was watching with it, I watched a bit of it, too cartoony and weird. I turned the channel.
Then my son started. He never missed it. I would walk into the room, stare at it for a couple of minutes, nod that it continued to be as uninteresting as my first 10 minutes and walk out.
And do stuff in the background while he watched it. Cringing every so often...

The Naruto manga was good, the anime caught up to the manga and had all this ridiculous filler until more fresh content was released. I really liked the One Piece live action, which surprised me.
Apparently the One Piece creator was so devoted to the series, he did that Japanese thing of making work your whole life, and basically shunted his family to the side to keep up with demand. He had a breakdown and I think the Naruto creator had to come in and help him finish for a bit.
Supposedly there is a real treasure that is the One Piece, it's not just "the treasure is finding friends!"or some crap. Force the creator to finish the series already! So he can get to know his family before he dies.

It's not quite as good as Death Note season 1, but it's better than Death Note season 2.
Good mix of characters in Tower of God and my goodness...the plot twists really change things, and there's one nearly every episode.

I'd say that > 50% of congressional Republicans are seat-fillers. They keep an actual conservative out of a voting seat. All the way up to that only about a dozen aren't.
McConnell did a bit of gate-keeping by controlling the Congressional funds and deciding various people were "unqualified" or "low quality". When the "quality" he was probably looking for was voting with DC.

I took the money and my security clearance, and now I'm a beltway bandit! After the feds, the state of PA and VA, took their chunk of taxes from my severance, it was much lower than announced.

Saw "Wolf Man" yesterday.
Kinda flat. Kinda Meh. Some good scenes. The opening worked really well.
Not really a "Wolf Man movie" though. Leigh Whannell clearly wanted to film a re-remake of "The Fly" but not call it The Fly. Follows Cronenberg's film pretty closely.
Also, "Wolf Man" doesn't look like a wolf at all. He looks like a diseased version of Jack Nicholson's werewolf in "Wolf" but with way worse make-up.
Julia Garner also is terrible in this. I thought she was a pretty good actress when watching "Ozark", but I guess not.

As I recall, the executive order was NOT a permanent stop of Federal Funding. It was a temporary stop to determine the actual application of the monies provided, and whether they were truthful, and whether they were detrimental to the American people. Where the "unconstitutional" aspect of this comes in is hard to fathom. The Judge who filed and Administrative decision pushing it off to Feb. 3rd did so seconds before it would have gone into effect at 5 pm EST today. Secession would only be justified if 100 percent voted for it, and then they would have to refund the US for all improvements since 1607

Keep in mind that the Secret Empire arc that had Cap as Nomad and Nixon as the villain led immediately to the writer getting canned for Jack Kirby to take over, all his other Marvel books taken, and him fleeing the country for a few years. And they still didn't replace him with Sam, but had Sam train a young white guy named Roscoe to replace Steve, who was promptly brutally murdered and Steve took the job back. Over and done in a few months.
Sam has been Cap 3 times in comics. Once in the 90s in a times part story set in the 70s era written by noted liberal psychopath Mark Waid, once when Steve aged out due to being trapped in another universe for decades until that was fixed, which was a liberal shitshow that had the Red Skull be Jordan Peterson, Steve be replaced by a Nazi sympathizing version of him from another universe and led to an issue recalled for slurs printed about the Tea Party that violated decency codes, and now, when he's not the only Captain America but "co-captain" with Steve. Sales haven't been robust.
I actually think this was Mackie pandering to the foreign box office, which Captain America is a tough sell for and he's a tougher one.

Well in the original Civil War half of Virginia did, and there were supporters of the USA all through poorer hill country areas from the Carolinas to Alabama. US troops were raised from every US state IIRC even without counting the freed slaves that were put in the USCT.
