My humble advice to journalists is the same offered to Hollywood- read the room. If you don’t want to lose your job and stop making the income you currently enjoy, stop expecting the world to change for you, and become what your customers are telling you they want. Who cares if you think you are right, you can be principled and unemployed, or you can be what the market wants. Someone who delivers the news- who, what, why, when and where.

New York Magazine has been slammed for editing black people out of a front cover spread on the 'young, gleeful and casually cruel' MAGA faithful. A reporter chronicled an inauguration party in Washington on January 20 at Butterworth’s bistro alongside young Republicans celebrating Donald Trump's return to the White House. After the report made the front page of NY Magazine, the publication was called out for cropping the main image to remove any person of color - making it appear like the only 'casually cruel' Trump fans in attendance were white.

Posted by: Intercepted DU Transmissions brought by the Intrepid AoS Liaison at January 28, 2025 12:10 PM (JCZqz) That's quite an admission. Because actually telling the truth is different than truthful. Truthful, especially in artistic environments which includes live media, means "characterized by accuracy or realism" In other words, Dan Rather's "fake but accurate" is perfectly acceptable. And since the media believes that they are humble, speaking truth to power, and unbiased against everything they consider good, they truly have no concept why they are reviled. After all, they're being "truthful." Posted by: Virginia SoCon at January 28, 2025 12:21 PM (a/dOO) 189

Posted by: Piper at January 28, 2025 12:05 PM (pZEOD) --- Progressivism *is* ignoring feedback. I realized that's why James Lindsey calls everything "Gnosticism". Because Gnostics believed that in some sense they were God, but the world was being all poopy in not showing them their true god self, so the world is poopy and created by a demon. Marxists are just atheists who behave as if they pursued a Gnosis (divine insight), they're not actually Gnostics. Gnosticism seems to have been the crystallization of the idea that I'm right/the World is wrong. Which is why it has been the sort of inspiration of progressive politics for so long. “Now look, I have a lot of fear that as this term goes on, things are going to get a little fascist-y. And we must be vigilant. But part of vigilance is discernment. Republicans control the House, the Senate, the executive, and the judiciary. And just about every move that has been made, till this point, we have granted them electorally. He had great chemistry with Chris Evans in his debut Marvel film. But none of these actors can read the vibe of the room that is America. They let their egos and hubris get in the way. Had Disney been wise, this film would be America, eff yeah, rah rah, and it would be playing right into the pro America zeitgeist building right now. Instead it went the opposite way and will tank. Someone said that the problem for young actors nowadays is the Hollywood machine is churning out charmless, flat, shallow roles due to woke. The message matters more than the substance. They are building a resume of crap roles in crap films that will be forgotten in fifteen years. It's impossible to build a career from that, the way actors did in the past. Some support eSIMs so you don’t even need a physical second SIM, it’s all just done virtually. I have multiple lines on my iPhone 14 Pro on Verizon Wireless. I pay $16 /month for the second number. If you saw Greta Garbo on a poster, you knew what kind of movie you were going to get. A subset of that was the A-list versus the B-list where A-listers made money and B-listers didn't. This part never made sense at all, but it became the dominant thinking around stars pretty quickly. It's complete horseshit, and I can pull examples all day of major stars failing to sell movie tickets despite being in movies. But Hollywood still pushes it because Hollywood is run by dullards who need the simplest explanation for why one movie is a success and another movie is not. 183 New York Magazine has been slammed for editing black people out of a front cover spread on the 'young, gleeful and casually cruel' MAGA faithful.

What sports does is drive "live" viewership which advertisers pay more for because the viewer will see that show at the time it airs instead of up to a week later when they watch the recording. On average, the typical viewer watches about 5-8 networks, and with live sports it drives viewers to those networks which is why you see a lot of promos for upcoming shows during games. And it showed that even the most American of institutions can be rotted from the inside, how Shield rotted into Hydra, without constant vigilance. Very apt lesson for today!! It wasn't until the later films/TV series that the Marvel movies melded into bland bombastic sameness, as the Marvel bigwigs got afraid to take new risks and let woke take over. I once almost threw myself over a balcony yelling at Coach K leaving below me, and he would have been dead and I would have been in jail. Husband and son's gf were horrified after the game at my son and me. I did try to pick a fight, a polite exchange of words, with a frat boy. I was asked, later, with an exhausted sigh, "Just who do you think he would fight?" I said, me, and I could have taken him. My husband apparently thought he would have to defend me from the twit. Cillizza didn't cover himself with glory on this one either. On top of that, he insists that Trump still lies, without any quotes from him showing that he actually might. It's axiomatic for these midwits that Trump lies, but they can never show proof of this. I guess that's why it's axiomatic; they take it as a sign of faith that it must be so. Chris Wallace should have been a wake up call. For every Tucker who succeeds wildly when parting a network, there's a few dozen Wallace's. Wallace had an audience at Fox. But it had to do with the Fox brand, not Wallace himself. He left. He went to CNN. The audience did not follow. His show was canceled very quickly. The problem probably has to do with the fact that Wallace's rhetoric was no different from 90% of the talking heads while Tucker was different from the 90%. There was reason to follow Tucker to a new place (online, X), but no real reason to follow Wallace. TRUMP WAS LYING! .... That's ... not "the Truth". If it turns out in retrospect that you did not foresee that the President of the United States had better information than you did, and you *knew* that you were taking one authority's word over another (which is also *not knowing*), and you went to "LIE" instead of just sharing that we had contrasting reports, then that's a larger oversight than simply "Not knowing the Truth". BLUF, the NFL/Church of Manhattan Media gets better ratings with KC-Eggles Super Bowl. This is known. Posted by: Pudinhead at January 28, 2025 01:20 PM (Wg6v7) 596
The bad news is all these twats will move to red states cuz they can't afford to live in the beautiful blue shitholes.
Posted by: Pudinhead at January 28, 2025 12:10 PM (Wg6v7) they don't know what a red state is. Ok, maybe Florida. Posted by: Oldcat at January 28, 2025 01:25 PM (n7h9X) 597
Press gaggle seems a little disoriented, confused. Not attacking as much as expected. What's up with that?

582 ChristyBlinky, I kind of like that part of hockey culture is the fans boo the refs whenever they come out on the ice. Hating on the refs is built into the sport.
Posted by: LizLem at January 28, 2025 01:13 PM (gWBY1) I think it is a lot of fun and cathartic. When my new husband first saw this at my brother's HS game...my dignified Southern gentleman father yelling at refs, he was stunned. I told him this was totally normal, having gone to basketball games from age 5yrs. I thought everyone did this! Granted, I would not yell at the refs at 6yr old games (grandson) as apparently some men get a bit loco over this. We are lucky if grandson shoots/misses/ we applaud wildly. He mostly stands under the goal with his arms up as if he was being robbed. Even when sons played soccer it was not the same to pick on kids who were trying to ref. Big deal. I go for blood only in college games. Those were the days! I once made voodoo potato heads of Duke players from home. It worked. You all know what's going to happen with the Jim Acosta's, Jennifer Rubin's Chris Wallace's etc....don't you?
They are going to Fail with a capital "F" at their podcast endeavors. And, as they are not really invested in any form of conviction, they are going to swing hard Right and try to co-opt an audience from those they are currently attacking with such unbridled enthusiasm. The great pretend is about a year and a half away. Posted by: Orson at January 28, 2025 12:44 PM (dIske) He has to set one up first. Or he has to find someone to set it up for him, to maintain the payment system that lets him pay people., the facilities and set. Then he has to find guests that won't get tired of him overtalking them. Posted by: Oldcat at January 28, 2025 01:30 PM (n7h9X) 602

The refs have been 1000 percent fixing the games for them since Cincy beat them in the AFCCG four years back and went to the LA Superbowl. In the year after that they actually had a "do over" play when KC didn't make a key first down without even calling a penalty. Posted by: Oldcat at January 28, 2025 01:34 PM (n7h9X) 603
