That's quite an admission. Because actually telling the truth is different than truthful. Truthful, especially in artistic environments which includes live media, means "characterized by accuracy or realism"
In other words, Dan Rather's "fake but accurate" is perfectly acceptable. And since the media believes that they are humble, speaking truth to power, and unbiased against everything they consider good, they truly have no concept why they are reviled. After all, they're being "truthful."

That's quite an admission. Because actually telling the truth is different than truthful. Truthful, especially in artistic environments which includes live media, means "characterized by accuracy or realism"

If by "principled" you mean being the mouthpiece for the rich and powerful, then yes. Accosta and Fauci share that trait.
The only principle they serve was to spread propaganda, and whatever change of direction is happening now, has nothing to do with market shares. It has to do with the rich and powerful deciding that message wasn't going to work anymore.
They're regrouping. When the likes of Accosta and Fauci become useful again, they'll use them. Or they won't. They'll find younger and prettier mouthpieces.

Maybe check into having your home number ported over to a cell phone? I had that done many years ago. You could also have the number transferred over, I believe, to a new provider.

I remember a time when I was a child, my Godfather was playing badminton and jumped over a wooden fence for some reason. He didn't make it and would up with a pretty significant splinter, who's location I don't remember.
instead of a trip to the hospital, everyone agreed they'd attempt to remove it. They gave him copious amounts of booze and took it out shortly after he passed out. I don't remember if he used the bucket they placed there for him to vomit in when he woke up.......

My wife and I recently started TNG from the beginning. I haven't watched every episode of the series before. I caught many of them when it was in syndication, so even the episodes I did watch were out of order. So far, I'm enjoying myself. I cheered out loud when Picard told Wesley to shut up.

Chris Wallace should have been a wake up call. For every Tucker who succeeds wildly when parting a network, there's a few dozen Wallace's.
Wallace had an audience at Fox. But it had to do with the Fox brand, not Wallace himself. He left. He went to CNN. The audience did not follow. His show was canceled very quickly.
The problem probably has to do with the fact that Wallace's rhetoric was no different from 90% of the talking heads while Tucker was different from the 90%. There was reason to follow Tucker to a new place (online, X), but no real reason to follow Wallace.

The movie star system was developed by Irving Thalberg in the 20s/30s as a marketing technique at MGM. If you saw Greta Garbo on a poster, you knew what kind of movie you were going to get.
A subset of that was the A-list versus the B-list where A-listers made money and B-listers didn't. This part never made sense at all, but it became the dominant thinking around stars pretty quickly. It's complete horseshit, and I can pull examples all day of major stars failing to sell movie tickets despite being in movies.
But Hollywood still pushes it because Hollywood is run by dullards who need the simplest explanation for why one movie is a success and another movie is not. "Famous person was on the poster" is easy enough to understand, even when it doesn't always work.

Sort of. What sports does is drive "live" viewership which advertisers pay more for because the viewer will see that show at the time it airs instead of up to a week later when they watch the recording.
On average, the typical viewer watches about 5-8 networks, and with live sports it drives viewers to those networks which is why you see a lot of promos for upcoming shows during games.

Winter Soldier, which Mackie is in, was actually one of my fave Marvel movies. The reason the first few films were so good is they each took a different genre and ran with it. Winter Soldier was a taut spy espionage thriller in the vein of Tom Clancy. And it showed that even the most American of institutions can be rotted from the inside, how Shield rotted into Hydra, without constant vigilance. Very apt lesson for today!!
It wasn't until the later films/TV series that the Marvel movies melded into bland bombastic sameness, as the Marvel bigwigs got afraid to take new risks and let woke take over.

Husband and son's gf were horrified after the game at my son and me. I did try to pick a fight, a polite exchange of words, with a frat boy. I was asked, later, with an exhausted sigh, "Just who do you think he would fight?" I said, me, and I could have taken him. My husband apparently thought he would have to defend me from the twit. Nope. And it was only an exchange of words, I didn't goose the guy, for heaven's sake!

Chris Wallace should have been a wake up call. For every Tucker who succeeds wildly when parting a network, there's a few dozen Wallace's.
Wallace had an audience at Fox. But it had to do with the Fox brand, not Wallace himself. He left. He went to CNN. The audience did not follow. His show was canceled very quickly.
The problem probably has to do with the fact that Wallace's rhetoric was no different from 90% of the talking heads while Tucker was different from the 90%. There was reason to follow Tucker to a new place (online, X), but no real reason to follow Wallace.

The first Joe(?) Johnston movie was pretty much perfect. His Rocketeer was also great. Captain America was a good movie. Winter Soldier was a good movie. A little soft on commies, but whatev.
Cap in Civil War was meh.
Notice that the darker and further away from the flag Cap's suit got the shittier the movie.
As soon as Hollywood and NYC get a hold of Captain America or punisher, they can't wait to bend them over and destroy them.

I think it is a lot of fun and cathartic. When my new husband first saw this at my brother's HS game...my dignified Southern gentleman father yelling at refs, he was stunned. I told him this was totally normal, having gone to basketball games from age 5yrs. I thought everyone did this!
Granted, I would not yell at the refs at 6yr old games (grandson) as apparently some men get a bit loco over this. We are lucky if grandson shoots/misses/ we applaud wildly. He mostly stands under the goal with his arms up as if he was being robbed.
Even when sons played soccer it was not the same to pick on kids who were trying to ref. Big deal. I go for blood only in college games. Those were the days! I once made voodoo potato heads of Duke players from home. It worked.

If you bet against KC you are an idiot. The refs have been 1000 percent fixing the games for them since Cincy beat them in the AFCCG four years back and went to the LA Superbowl. In the year after that they actually had a "do over" play when KC didn't make a key first down without even calling a penalty.
