Some of you may remember these regular threads on Saturday afternoons. During the Trump 45 era, OM began to include a "Dress Pr0n For The 'Ettes" segment in his weekly Chess Thread. Ok, that's sounds harsher than I meant. She was gorgeous in both dresses, but to me she always juuust misses perfection, and tends to be costumey. I think Usha has better taste, although I hope she's not going to be like The Princess of Wales, and wear a lot of blue. She, like Catherine, is too warm to really wear blue. Memory from the dark ages. As a warrant officer candidate, i was poor and Smash & I were living on maybe $700 / month. Smash had a job at the rio grande gazete as an illustrator/type setter. While I attended wareant officer school in this new fangled air defense system Patriot. My commuter ride was a Harley Sportster 1100, with a 5 gallon gas tank mod. Tank had a viking babe weilding a sword. I eventually dumped the Harley for a ragged out cj7 (wish I still had it!) with a Van Halen concert bumper sticker.
Unbeknownst to me, a class of newbie enlisted were going through Patriot training at the same time and admired both the Harley babe and the Van Halen sticker. Three of that class wound up in my battery and gave me endless grief over getting rid of the "viking babe withthe bewbs and sword".
Thank you, Doof for unlocking this core memory again.
Sp4 Hornbuckle and her husband Sp4 Hauf both became Ft. Bliss post soldiers of the year. Sgt. (Forgot his name, damnit) became post NCO of the year. If any of you have seen the Stinger Team statue at Bliss (now resident at Sill), the team leader pointing at the target is Sp4 Hauf.

We have a string of autumnal (orange) lights, and a string of multicolor (Christmas) lights across the front porch, which will stay up. Just plug in the seasonal strand - none currently. Son put them up for us. I avoid ladders nowadays.
Need to figure out some Spring and Summer lights to go with them, I guess.

I worked for a(n) LSP, and he poached several of our staff for SpaceX. He is definitely on the spectrum, but he was very nice to staff like receptionist, servers, etc. I was staff myself, so I say that from first hand experience. Very polite and considerate.
His enthusiasm in endearing, but I'd hate to work for him. Very intense and focused. First time I met him, I thought he had a speech impediment. 😂 I had never heard a South African accent before. You barely hear it now.

The Fed “targets” a roughly 50 percent loss in purchasing power of the dollar every 20 years. And then you pay tax on the nominal “gains” on your assets and investments upon sale. If leftists try to impose a “wealth tax” then that would apply immediately.

I live in Central TX. My rural area is weird. Historically Black, although I am not. Racially, it is very mixed. People get along. Everyone lives on acreage. But there are some trashy trailer park areas....if ICE rolls through here, I would celebrate.

Yeah it was definitely smooth. Full flavored and no bitterness. It almost seemed like you can make it strong enough to peel paint without it getting bitter. Its more than $25 a pound these days. I'm seeing crazy numbers. $33 for 7oz. I saw a 5lb bag for over $700. Some single source shit. For that money i better be able to fucking smoke it. lol

She was just watching him, helplessly, hoping he didn't drown. Meanwhile, at the time I was watching this, I was downing lots and lots of beer. I wasn't much better than that guy in the pool at the time. Except I was in the USAF so had to sober up for work.

My dad had 3 Studebakers when I was growing up. A red 1946 pickup truck, the last year with exterior running boards. A cream 1950 Starlite coupe, with a chrome bullet nose and wrap around rear windows, very futuristic design for the time. And a maroon 1941 Studebaker with suicide rear doors. When he was restoring the '41, my job (age 9) was to painstakingly paint the hundreds of little red divots in the beauty rims for each wheel. Hated those rims, but they were good times with my dad. Went with him to help him sell vintage car parts at swap meets as a kid. Sure miss him (3 years this Thursday,)
