Top Story

Tech News

  • The founder of IMDB is stepping down from the role of CEO after 35 years. (Tech Crunch)

If you do the math, then yes, that means IMDB is older than the web. It started on Usenet on the rec.arts.movies newsgroup during the late Cretaceous.

  • Decentralised social media is the only alternative to the tech oligarchy. (404 Media)

This is not untrue so far as it goes. There are just a couple of problems with the statement:

First, this complaint arises out of a lack of censorship.

Second, we already have this. It's called Usenet. It still exists.

Third, almost all the direct accusations leveled against individuals made by the author are lies and potentially actionable.

Fourth, the decentralised platforms built recently like Mastodon and Bluesky are oppressive shitholes run by people who are sad that they were born too late to serve as Stasi informants.

Fifth, the author himself is an unreformed Stalinist loon who despises everything that is right and good in the world:
A legion of the worst people on Earth have spent years building admittedly resilient alternative social media sites after being deplatformed from or rage quitting sites like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. Places like Rumble, Gab, Truth Social, Odysee, and Patriots.Win are full of the worst America has to offer, but people on these websites have been successful in seeding (often false, often hateful) narratives that filter up the power chain and often end up getting repeated by Donald Trump or on more widely viewed right wing media like Fox News
So it's a choice of light censorship by a coterie of partially reformed billionaires or totalitarian oppression by the left.

  • Nvidia's 5000 series GPUs are out of stock. (WCCFTech)

They haven't launched yet - that doesn't happen until the 30th - but they're out of stock.

  • AMD's 9900X3D and 9950X3D run games at about the same speed as the 9800X3D. (Tom's Hardware)

Which should come as no surprise, because they are just versions of the 9800X3D with more than eight cores, and very few games use more than eight cores. (Because both the Xbox and PlayStation have eight cores.)

7 And at least one core on the consoles is reserved for system functions. So game devs can utilize just seven cores. Though, if a viable way can be found to utilize a 16 core CPU for an enhanced PC version, the option is there. Though many don't even utilize those seven core very well yet.

11 So who is going to build all the nuclear reactors to power this thing? The ZPG is all out of juice.

During the press conference President Trump mentioned while discussing the he would make sure that government red tape was not going to be an issue including power requirements which could be on site. The way this comment came out it was a blip and slid right on by.

My ears perked up massively at this point and really perked up when, I think, Larry Ellison said the first data center would be in Abilene, TX. Having been there, I was like Abilene is in the middle of nowhere being some 2+ hours NW of Dallas and that there is zero infrastructure in the area. Toss in that Texas has electricity generation issues because they were dick heads and went green the only way they are going to supply enough power for a 500,000 sq. ft. AI data center is to build on site massive gas fired electrical generation plants or build one these new and much smaller nuke plants.

So yeah, it is very possible a nuke plant is what is under consideration. In other new real estate in Abilene might be a good investment.

30 A summary of the Leonard Peltier case. While on the run from the attempted murder of a Milwaukee cop Peltier and his cohorts shot hundreds of rounds at two FBI agents who were trying execute an arrest warrant on a different person at the time of the firefight. This crew were stone cold killers and Peltier landing in prison with two consecutive life sentences was a win. The guy should have been executed. It is unthinkable that Biden would set this guy free but he did.

Plus all the communist DEI offices that have spread like cancer throughout the federal government have until the close of business today to be shut down. The only crappy part is the statsi agents populating them are being put on paid administrative leave instead of being immediately fired and perp walked out the buildings so they can spend more time with their cats and vibrators.

As an adult I retruned to that practice when about 20 yrs ago our museum was given an Encycolpedia Britannica set from 1818. I had to read a bit of that. IL was set to become a state, which happened Dec 3, 1818.

85 From Daily Kos. The lack of self-awareness here is hilarious.

"Within hours of being sworn in, convicted felon Donald Trump committed his first blatantly impeachable act. Trump made good on one of his vilest campaign promises, pardoning and commuting the sentences of those convicted of even the most violent of crimes during his Jan. 6, 2021 coup attempt."

A few observations: Leonard Peltier, Federal death penalty prisoners, 1500 drug traffickers, Fauci aka America's Dr. Mengele, Liz Chaney, the entire J6 show trial participants, Hunter Biden and the entire Biden Crime Family, all let go by Biden.

This list stands against the 1500 political hostages that have been held for years, sometimes without a trial, for protesting a stolen election.

I think that before the internet people who wrote all the time were just better writers. Anyway, May all people of good will who love the Lord and the scriptures and who need courage. receive it today. Here is Joshua 1:1-9

I actually do find it a bit surprising. Adding more cores does usually slow games down, because those cores take up more room on the die, add heat and generally just introduce inefficiencies that do gaming no favors. If they've managed to figure out how to add cores without the downsides, that's a pretty new and good development.

The so-called Bishop who spoke at the National Prayer Service on Tuesday morning was a Radical Left hard line Trump hater. She brought her chuck into the World of politics in a very ungracious way. She was nasty in tone, and not compelling or smart. She failed to mention the large number of illegal migrants that came into our Country and killed people. Many were deposited from jails and mental institutions. It is a giant crime wave that is taking place in the USA. Apart from her inappropriate statements, the service was a very boring and uninspiring one. She is not very good a her job! She and her church owe the public an apology!

The "resistance" is already ahead of this by renaming their DEI programs. Claiming "DEI" isn't being enforced because there's no "DEI" program.

They're using variations of EEO now. Same shit. Different name. So, not "DEI."
