This has not been my experience. Ive only read about fourteen of his books; I know hes written a lot more. But Ive been amazed at how different they are: different situations, different kinds of protagonists, different kinds of villains. Here's why Collette Peters quit. She was about to get a rather unflattering report card:
"The bipartisan legislation requires the Department of Justice’s Inspector General (IG) to conduct comprehensive, risk-based inspections of the BOP’s 122 correctional facilities, provide recommendations to fix problems, and assign each facility a risk score, with higher-risk facilities required to be inspected more often. The IG must also report its findings and recommendations to Congress and the public, and the BOP must respond to all inspection reports within 60 days with a corrective action plan." 103 The best Louis l’Amour books so far:
1. Conagher 2. Shalako 3. The Daybreakers 4. Dark Canyon 5. Last Stand at Papago Wells (this one goes to eleven) 6. Comstock Lode I've only read one Louis l’Amour book, The Walking Drum, and thought it was pretty great. A little dramatic, cliché, unrealistic, and not at all about Western, but it was a fun light adventure through and interesting historical time and location. IOW, the conspiracy is still alive, arrest them all, from Pelosi on down to the jail guard. Since deaths were involved the maximum penalty is... death.

As others have said, since Biden pardoned all the top-level criminals, then let's prosecute every single person who reported to them.
They neither resigned, blew the whistle or otherwise stopped the crimes. "I was just doing my job!" isn't a defense to not reporting treason. Every single staffer on the J6 Committee deserves a nice stay at Club Fed. Fauci's little minions can get whole new degrees in the prison library. All the board members, shareholders and executives of all the Biden shell companies can wear out the playing cards in the prison game room. Fuck them all. Oh yeah, and de-bank the Bidens. Once we solve all of the world's political problems, I'd like us to turn our attention to the sports media. I will *never* willingly listen to a 5'3 115 pound woman describe to me what type of offensive or defensive line play needs to take place today--sorry babe, I know you've had to push 250 pound men to try to get them off of you, but I'm not going to let you talk football to me. Similarly I'm not interested in a 5'6 any weight woman talk to me about the importance of blocking out when rebounding the basketball.
Lastly, I'm not going to listen to men talk sports who go by or allow themselves to be referred to as "Stink", "Scratchy" or other such nonsense. You have a name--use the correct one. Posted by: Crusader at January 21, 2025 05:07 PM (azSra) 134

Someone who is really , REALLY upset about the pardons is y'alls favorite senator, Mitch McConnell. Vance did an interview and McConnell took it to mean taht JD wanted a narrower version of the pardons. Absolutely false, but the old toad is hard of hearing, apparently : "Despite Vance being 100 percent in line with what Trump did—and specifically advocating for exactly this—some in media like those at HuffPost have tried to use Vance’s recent interview on Fox News Sunday to say that the Vice President did not support “such a broad pardon.”
McConnell, the former Senate GOP leader who is now just a rank-and-file senator, also tried to split Vance and Trump here, saying he agreed with Vance but not Trump after Trump’s decision on Monday evening." Posted by: runner at January 21, 2025 05:08 PM (g47mK) 143

As to the pardons, there is a VERY easy solution.
Investigate each and every person pardoned. Have them testify before a grand jury or a congressional committee, under oath. Ask each of them to LIST the crimes for which Biden pardoned them. If they say, "I never did any crimes" and you find out later that was a lie, you try them for perjury. The perjury is for a NEW crime they committed. Not covered under the pardon. The only alternative is for them to tell you what crimes they committed. Which of course, ruins their reputation forever. Biden just trapped all of these idiots, and they don't know it yet.
I ran across a Forbes article mostly lionizing Colette Peters
The BOP is a complicated agency. With an annual budget of $8.3 billion, it has seen the number of prisoners decrease by nearly 50,000 over the past 12 years yet its costs continue to increase. Healthcare costs, inefficiencies associated with old buildings and excessive overtime to meet the demands of supervising 150,000 prisoners 24/7 continues to drive expenses. I do have to laugh though...the number of prisoners does down and the costs go up. There was a similar budget fight at a local school district - the number of kids is down 30% over the last decade but costs have doubled somehow. Funny how government will always consume as much money as it can get its hands on isn't it? Posted by: 18-1 at January 21, 2025 05:21 PM (t0Rmr) 233

Do they still make snow tires with studs?
I believe so. I know people in Michigan who still change out their tires in the winter, so Im guessing snow tires are still significantly different. Last time I replaced my tires, I noticed that for a few dollars more I could get all-season tires plussed up for snow driving. Michelin calls them CrossClimate 2 but there are knock-off brands that do the same thing. They make a big difference in snow in Michigan, and dont seem to harm summer driving in Texas/New Mexico/Arizona. My dad does think he might have seen a slight reduction in gas mileage, but couldnt say for sure. I havent noticed, and I keep track of my gas usage. He got one of the knockoff brands, and has been very impressed by themand living in Michigan he drives a lot more in snow than I do. I read somewhere last night that the reason the D.C. jail is still holding them is because many of them weren't convicted, so their cases were dropped by the DOJ.
The problem is that a judge needs to formally dismiss the case in court and there were none around due to the holiday. So most of the J6 guys have been sitting in jail awaiting trial and are waiting for the courts to release them. Posted by: SpeakingOf at January 21, 2025 05:37 PM (6ydKt) 337

Yes. Most politicians or political writers you ask about the J6 prisoners, youd just get a blank stare or some random bland statement. I get that theres not a lot that can be done legally, but there is a lot that could have been done to keep them welland even aliveuntil release. Just making sure the prisoners know that people know about them, which Julie (and Cynthia Hughes) did in spades. Posted by: Stephen Price Blair at January 21, 2025 05:40 PM (EXyHK) 349
Here's one of those 21st Century problems that I wish would go away. I lower the tire pressure in the winter for better traction when it snows. But, my idiot busybody car will spend the entire time ringing a bell and telling my my death is about to happen due to low tire pressure. I think 5psi below the recommended sets it off.

The rubber formulations have improved a lot since the 70s or 80s when studded tires were more common.
Winter formulations just love to stick to wet ice. But they wear out quicker and get poorer gas mileage. So studs still exist (at least everywhere I have lived) but not nearly as common. Also towns have gotten much better at spreading salt and sand. The only time I ever had to use chains was Donner Pass during a blizzard where it was mandatory. I have a question. I know that these J6 prisoners have been held for over four years without trial. This is wrong so many levels. But I am wondering how they are able to text. I thought you couldn't have a phone in prison.. I'm just truly curious on how this is happening???

Jordan Fischer @JordanOnRecord - this AM
Trump's order pardoned people *convicted* of crimes related to Jan. 6. Defendants still awaiting trial or sentencing -- the vast majority at the jail -- have not been pardoned. Trump ordered their cases dismissed. That's not going to happen at 11 p.m. on a federal holiday. The confusion is understandable. Pardoning is something the president can do by fiat. Dismissing a federal case requires a U.S attorney to file a motion with the presiding judge, who then must grant the motion and order the defendant's release. Ford Fischer @FordFischer Thread by @JordanOnRecord does a good job of explaining what likely occurred tonight at the DC Jail. Quite frankly, the DC Jail itself communicated to MPD and to the people outside a number of different contradictory versions of events leading to a lot of preventable confusion. #433 BUT...
🇺🇸 @FreeStateWill - this AM The D.C. Gulag keeps hanging up the phone and stonewalling our request to get a January 6 defendant out this morning, who the Bureau of Prisons said should be released at 3 a.m. No other prison is doing this. " I know people in Michigan who still change out their tires in the winter, so I’m guessing snow tires are still significantly different."
Back in the late 60's, we used to put on "snow tires" for winter, but not studded. Middle Illinois gets some snow, but not a lot. Not many people switch to snow tires now, maybe better plowing, or front wheel drive dominant idk. Posted by: illiniwek at January 21, 2025 06:05 PM (Cus5s) 446

I can tell you aren't familar with the scams they dofor someone in jail. You put money on a phone service for an inmate. It can be for phone calls, texts,or video calls. The prices are outrageous but it is the only thing allowed. Jails give you a certain time you can use the service.

My opinion (FWIW) :
Trump should fire the top 50 office-occupiers at the Board of Prisons for malfeasance/ obstruction/ refusal of a lawful order. AND reclaim their pensions. The 50 office-occupiers who move into those vacated positions will probably discover a whole new outlook, and hustle the J-6ers out the door. AND, if not, fire *them*, reclaim their pensions, and see how the next round of 50 people do. BUT dammit there needs to be quick and *painful* action to stop this slow-rolling B-S right-damn-now. Fire and arrest every one of the people responsible for the delays releasing the J6 prisoners, come right over the top of whoever it is giving them orders to keep them there and then put them in the same cells.
