Forget sending Mexico the "bill" whatever it is. There is something much, much more effective we can do on the debit/credit card front.
Find the banks that issued them and look up their asses with flashlights. These are people with no Social Security number, no taxpayer ID, unverifiable identity and often no fixed address. It is impossible - literally impossible - for them to have passed the "know your customer" laws that banks must follow to comply with anti-money-laundering requirements.
Start jailing bank executives and levying ruinous fines against the banks that helped enabled this.

Man, that's something I'd like to see: an end to the quangos.
If so much as one single penny of taxpayer money enters your coffers through *any* mechanism at *any* level, I want to see tax-exempt status revoked and a serious tax burden imposed.

Kevin O'Leary was the talking head; he arranged for her to meet Trump at Mar-a-Lago about 10 days ago. Canada is a bit of a political gong show right now, including trying to figure out a national response to Trump's tariff threats, so Smith is doing what she can to show that Alberta is still open for business and wants to send its oil to the US. She's taking flak for not "standing for Canada" and going on her own, but she's doing the right thing.

Given what we have learned about the FBI in the years since that incident, it may be that Biden accidentally did the right thing. Peltier did serve a long term of years in any case. Biden's other pardons are more outrageous, IMHO.

I've been seeing 4 or 5 posts a day on my F book telling me I'm supposed to give Wait staff 25% or 30% tips... and I'm an asshole if I don't. Someone at F Book either has an axe to grind, or they are being PAID to show me all those unsolicited posts.
So, I usually just hit the button to stop seeing posts from those folks... but... then I see the exact same post, from someone else.... clearly a campaign.
So, I've started posting on those that this is clearly an ad campaign... one designed to use moral authority to try to make US pay the wages of a Restaurants staff... and if they add an auto gratuity to the bill, its fraud, as you are being forced to pay more then the advertised menu price, for the meal or drink you just had.

Also, the "job" changes with the workforce, and technology and over time.
If you don't have 100 guys who want to dig ditches for $2/hour, you incorporate a backhoe into the job. And yes, the price of labor might (gasp) go up. And yes of course the equipment isn't free, and may cause some short term disruption until the playing field is leveled. And the costs of modifying the job with technology will be passed along (along with the efficiencies).
And over time, the efficiencies can significantly offset the costs (like the tech McDonald's uses to cut down food prep time). There is no such thing as "a job" independent of the costs of labor and substitutability of labor, which is always variable.

There was a ton of this in the private sector. People relocated to warmer or cheaper climes and didn't tell the company. Suddenly, there's a "return to office" requirement and ... uh-oh.
I know at least four people who got shit-canned over it, once the mandates were imposed. They are in rough shape now because those nicer, cheaper places they moved have a lower pay scale, but they still have significant structural debt.

The current crop of Cardinals know who is in the seminaries, and that the liberal Catholic project has no future. They also long for less drama.

Hey if it works I'm all in. And actually we should expand the canal while we're at it to accommodate more state of the art shipping. Was just a feeling that we might not want to get too far over our skis. America First does mean something after all, and we've done a lot of harm by focusing on second and third-order implications of things abroad that may indirectly be in our interests, while neglecting fundamentals. But yes, definitely a worthy strategic objective to get The Canal back.

That was a "money" pick...Arlington Diocese has a very conservative bishop for the diocese's faithful...so they balance that out by having a liberal in DC, so all the folks with money can go to what they like - liberal or conservative - in driving distance.
Maybe that's letting out sausage making, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't it. But with DC financials floundering, they picked a guy who can't stay more than 5-6 years (his age) to see if that strategy has become wrong...

There's not many illegals crossing Panama. Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua are all north of Panama. That's where the bulk of illegals are coming from.
