Senile Octogenarian Molestation Suspect Begins New Career As Constitutional Scholar

Yes, Biden is doing damage with his last-minute, baying at the moon insanity, but on the bright side, he is tarnishing the reputation of the Democrat party, and further exposing it as a clown show and a party in existential crisis.

But this one is a head scratcher! The clear language of the amendment is that it would fail if it weren't ratified by...1982!

Biden Declared the Equal Rights Amendment Ratified

President Joe Biden announced on Jan. 17 that the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which was first proposed more than a century ago, is now the "law of the land."

The legal effect of Biden's statement is disputed.

Biden said in a statement three days before his presidency ends that he has supported the ERA for more than 50 years and that "we as a nation, must affirm and protect women's full equality once and for all."

The president said the final hurdle to the formal adoption of the ERA as part of the U.S. Constitution was overcome in January 2020 when the Virginia General Assembly voted to ratify the amendment.

This is of course the typical Democrat disdain for the law. If they FEEL it should be a law, then presto! It's the law of the land.

But the text of the amendment might be problematic for the psychotic, sexuality-obsessed Democrat/Progressive cabal. The first paragraph says:

Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

"SEX!" What's that? Care to define that? Is it biological sex? Is it the declared sex of the hopelessly insane? Is it defined by the presence or absence of external sexual characteristics? Sex hormone levels? Phase of the moon?

Inquiring minds want to know!

16 There’s more state-sanctioned discrimination against men than women these days, so bring on the Equal Rights Amendment!

One of the arguments against the ERA was that it would be used to force gay marriage and trannyism on America. It turns out gay marriage and trannyism were already hiding in the Constitution, just waiting to be discovered by legal geniuses Anthony Kennedy and Amy Coney Barrett!

Actually there is. We have noted from time to time that the Left had taken an “all in” approach ending in comparisons to Hitler and attempts to regulate speech - but those attempts failed. The core problem with “all in” is at the end, there is nowhere left to go, no exit strategy. Only assassins (tried twice, failed), armed rebellion (they don’t have the nerve for that) or complete and total surrender and drop out from the political system. (Accomodation for those who want to stick around)

They spent years painting themselves into this corner, well this is what the surrender corner looks like.

No, the 'legal effect' of Biden's claim is NOT 'disputed'.

Everybody that's not a far left hacktivist is laughing at how stupid it is because a Twatter pronouncement by the President has ZERO legal authority, under ANY actual legal standard.

The Supreme Court already ruled decades ago that this amendment was dead. The idea that a demented drooling moron can simply 'declare' it into existence is an idea so stupid that only the educated leftists could possibly believe it.

Although if they want to try and set the precedent that a President's Twitter messages can now amend the Constitution, Trump should immediately declare term limits for Congress.

87 this feels like Women’s Juneteenth, because of long delay before being informed of emancipation. MAGAGOP will fight against women’s rights to their last breath, or ours.

it didn't meet the requirements until January of 2020. The con artist refused to acknowledge it as ratified and sent three goon AG creeps after the archivist to stall it. Since then the ABA, and State lawmakers and lawyers have been working on legal arguments to take this to the courts and that is where we are today.

This is going to be brought to the courts. I like the odds of winning these arguments and the ERA finally being acknowledged.

Tribe mentions at The Contrarian he argued a USSC case about the time limit issue, and that there is clearly none. There is NO "time limit" for states to ratify the ERA. It was always media and right-wing bullshit. It is a lie. Don't fall for it.

What he didn’t mention was that he lost. The case was dismissed as moot because the time limit had run out.

the ERA Amendment quietly and automatically went into affect on January 27, 2022. SCOTUS will find a way not to recognize it if their illegal patrons pay them not to.

I know it's petty and not what I should be focused on, but for the love of all that's holy, could you not put on a f***ing jacket, suit, or tie? How dare you show up in sloppy jeans and a wrinkled polo. The fact that you're 80 lbs overweight isn't helping your look.

Two would be to thank Schiff for suggesting Cheney need to be looked into and assure him that she would take his concerns about her under advisement.

220 It's funny that Dems make the claim that women earn less than men without adjusting for experience

It's not just that they don't adjust for experience, they don't adjust for job. The 72% number comes from taking the average pay of all women, without regard to what they do, and compares it to the average pay of all men, without regard to what they do. It's utterly meaningless and that's why the left uses it for it's emotional appeal.

OMG! This daycare worker makes less than the starting quarterback of an NFL team... it's sooooooooooo unfair!

I get this, but I also kind of wonder if this is not a good thing- if people had half a brain. With representative democracy, you get what you buy and what you tolerate. The people in California are feeling the effects now. Will it change behavior? Make them do the right thing for the wrong reasons or by experience? (which was how this is supposed to work)

The vote stacking in Cali or the... blatant election stealing of 2020 makes this fuzzier, but at the same time I put 'and that they tolerate' in there for a reason.

Yeah, you're much closer to what im talking about. Trump's unstoppable drive is giving voice to the silent majority in a way I didn't think was possible. I'm happy as a clam. But, the beatings will continue until morale improves. Luckily, in this case, the beatings actually *do* improve morale, every day.

We're no longer sitting quietly like an effectively beaten wife. That has huge implications - but reform of the current US regime isn't one of them. That ship sailed a long time ago.

LOL.

Trump's reelection is a big deal for cultural reasons, and it opens up a lot of future possibilities for change.

But, no, we haven't voted our way out of anything, and we can't. That isn't how this works. Electoral politics are a circus. A useful one. But that's all.

This system will not tolerate reform at the ballot box.

The next four years, though, are going to show millions of people that cold, hard truth.

The events after the 2016 should have exposed to all the facade that the US elections have become. In 2020 they fluffed up results in a few key districts, in a few key states, then declared themselves winners. In 2024 even weeks of "counting" in California wsn't enough to tip themselves a win.

Folks here in the last few years have just started to start talking about how maybe we can't wash each other's laundry into mutual prosperity.

But I *do* have values I believe - just not *your* values.

463 I've been reading YD here for a while. Good guy that he is, he is also a nihilist. Either that or the word needs a new definition.

It all depends on your view of the human condition. Of people. Do you believe people are "good" to the core ? Bad ? Or just random.

I "know" - as much as I know anything - that the vast majority of people have this one neat trick where they can see what they want, then justify what it takes to make that happen as "good". Most people are, in my opinion, "bad" for that reason. Not be to be trusted.

That makes me a nihilist, I guess. And makes me look at all of those that don't see everyone else with the same suspicion as problematic fools.

That is a most solemn place. Our scout troop has visited there on the "Wreathes Across America" weekend. From National Archives:
"The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures. None of the 27 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed by constitutional convention. The Congress proposes an amendment in the form of a joint resolution. Since the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolution does not go to the White House for signature or approval."
