Surprisingly enough, the answer is yes. There are content creators who post content on PH that is not sexual at all. I read an interview with one who said they do it because PH pays more for content than Youtube. He claimed that the number of views that earned him $1000 on PH (his video was about math or something) only earned him $600 on YT.

Oh no!

22 I witnessed the most Tennessee thing ever today. Around here, when anyone clears a woodlot, they simply bulldoze the trash trees into a big pile and burn them. It's no big deal and no one cares. At this site close to me, the pile was not burning well so, the diesel tank truck, after the fueling of the track hoe was completed, filled the hoe's bucket with diesel which was then dumped onto the pile on fire.

Glorious. Get 'er done.

Check out the book and let me know what you think. I get your concern about Westerners not understanding other cultures, and I think I did a good job of trying to convey that.

I go through Amazon, and they've done well by me, so I can't complain. This comes up from time to time, but I think forcing Amazon to face the fact that conservative books sell is not a bad thing. It lets them know that they will lose actual money by getting woke.

Long Live Death actually went to #1 upon release thanks to the Moron Horde, and it is selling better than all my other stuff combined. People want the truth about the Spanish Civil War and they come to that book because of all the glowing reviews and ratings.

It's pretty cool.

LOL. As Bulg indicated, there's a lot of subtleties in the various Chinese languages, and also the translation systems.

So...people may be surprise to know that Germany was a major weapons partner with China for 50 years. Starting in the 1890s, they cut a deal with Imperial China to manufacture the Gewehr 88 "Comission" rifle, and as time wore on, subsequent contracts were made about other German rifle designs (I'm being reallly brief here). Anyhow, by 1935, Hitler approved a military mission to help the Nationalists wipe out the Communists, and it was all-in: they got tooling for rifles, web gear and helmets. Chinese dudes fully kitted out in "Nazi" gear and using Kar98k rifles using German tooling. No shit. Parts interchangeable. Chiang Kai-shek loved them, and decided to give his name to the pattern, which was rendered "Zhong Zheng" because translation/reasons.

The lesson for us today is that he encouraged defectors. He watched them, but he was willing to give them a second change, and so added troops to his ranks who wanted nothing more than to be left alone.

216 Orlok wishes to note that as cold as a witch's...actually, that is probably too revealing. Never mind.

Upthread there was mention made of a "testicle festival." Is this indeed a thing in the United States? Orlok only got the internet a brief while back, and the satellite dish reception in my Carpathian castle is sketchy at best, so a six-hundred-year-old Nosferatu has much to catch up on. Orlok finds Wikipedia a bit sketchy, and Google seems to possess a sort of passive aggressive demeanor to those who use it. I suppose I am saying, please, American friends, tell me that the "testicle festival" is not a genuine event. Lie to me if necessary - Orlok would like to think that such an event would not be part of the American culture.

Oh, and please go see "Nosferatu" - Orlok is scoring some bucks on that one. I must go now - "Beat Bobby Flay" is coming on, and I am really hoping that this time Flay will receive a battering with kitchen implements or whatever other implements of bludgeoning are ready to hand.

Herzog made a film about me with Klaus Kinski in the title role. The shame of that stings to this day. Each time I look in the mirror I see...well, I see nothing, unfortunately, but that is part of the job description with the whole Nosferatu thing. 233 I'm not a musician. Can't even play the kazoo very well but I love music. I've been watching Drumeo which is a YTube page. The premise is a drummer listens to music he is not aware of, minus the drum tracks, and then just figures out how to play the drum parts of the music. That's how you get Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater fame playing the drum parts of a Taylor Swift song. TBF, I didn't recognize the song either so don't feel bad, Mike.

Amazon. 'The 1% Club'

I took a test for these types of questions for a programmer job and the incredibly hot black woman told me I was the only person they ever had that got a perfect score. Ever!

And I was taking the test in a room with at least 50, mostly Indian.

Go white guy.

Anyways, horrible year so far. I'm killing beer. And watching Amazon's show that has those same type of questions. I've only missed 2, but yes, for several I did stop and think for awhile, but got them correct.

262 Well, Count, if you got a nifty set of dentures, you could see them in the mirror well enough. Kind of like the Cheshire Cat.
Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon

I must confess that I had not considered that. But the dentures...those of you who wear them know how difficult it is to eat corn off the cob, and a Nosferatu would have a similar difficulty. Going for the jugular requires a dependable bite strength that dental adhesive just can't quite deliver.

Actually, now that Orlok is thinking about it, why do we Undead only have two upper fangs? Maybe two lower fangs would make it too much like chug-a-lugging? It would be less tidy, certainly. In six centuries I have never even considered this question. Orlok is thinking maybe he should e-mail Blacula and get his take on this. He was a big early adapter with the whole internet thing.

I have seen waaaay worse. We did an outdoor show once, a kind of festival of sorts. I think 4 bands. Beer was free, so a friend of one of the other bands got hammered, and then made the mistake of passing out in a chair behind the stage. He was sitting there passed out with his head back and his mouth open. His darling friends decided to pull their dicks out and position themselves around his face, and somebody snapped a picture. Not sure how it ultimately went because at that time it was a film camera, so no instant pic thing. They would have to fuck with him later. Of course metal bands being on the dark side of creative somebody floated the idea of naming the picture "dick medusa". I will have to write a book one day. lol

Hirono’s strategy is a bold one:

- Interrupt immediately and try to put a false “answer” into the record

Weather forecast are getting interesting. We've got another one of the loathsome dry artic blasts coming through, potential for lows in the mid to low teens around here.

But then, a system off TX is gonna throw some moisture into the mix. But that mass of cold dry air is going to push so far south, it will keep most of that moisture out of here, and we get one of the rare situations were the low country and coasts of SC may get snow, and we do not up here.

There's a potential for Myrtle Beach and Charleston to get significant (for them) snow accumulation.

Poor guys spends a month in jail due to some crazy bitch's totally made-up rape claim. A month before they figured out it was bogus.

And she gets charged and convicted of filing a false police report. This is should be a felony with at least the sentence of an actual rapist.

As I noted last night, multiple generations of her family ran, and worked in, a whorehouse catering to horny sailors who'd been at sea.

She wound up going into politics. Apparently there are some things even sailors won't do.

332 Alas, another episode of "Beat Bobby Flay" ended with not even so much as fisticuffs, let alone a lead cosh or a truncheon. Is this always to be the case? Shall Orlok forever be Charley Brown, whose unfailing optimism is forever betrayed by Lucy pulling the football away at the last moment? (Is this a reference still in use? There still is so much that Orlok has to catch up on. This Urban Dictionary thing, for example, is really distressing, and you are hearing that from a six-hundred-year-old denizen of the Undead.)

Is it truly too much to ask that at least one episode shall feature some slight assault and battery on Flay? The man puts peppers in everything and gets away with it every single time. Chocolate Mousse? Habeneros. Dover Sole? Vietnamese Ghost Peppers. Cotton Candy for a delightful family outing? Caroline Reaper. Orlok thinks Alex Guarnaschelli would trash Flay without a second thought, and Alton Brown would leave him in the dumpster outside the studio. Then shall the forces of justice train their eyes upon Guy Fieri, who has had a beat-down coming on him since first he blasphemed the frames of a camera.

I got interested in the time the presidential term ends. The 20th Amendment just states it ends at "Noon on the 20th day of January".

Well, what noon? Local high noon or mean noon, or time zone? Doesn't say. Well, turns out the US code, 15 USC 252, has a general provision that says any time specified in law refers to the "US standard time in the zone in which such act is to be performed".

The 20th Amendment, which governs this, was ratified in 1933, well after the notion of Standard Time was put in law. So they were aware of that at the time the Amendment was proposed and ratified.

As near as I can tell, legally, that USC provision governs everything where a time or date is not completely specified. I can imagine situations where this could cause a conflict, and I don't know what would happen then.

That law above indicates that any time not precisely specified means the standard time, which is understood to be either Standard or Daylight, whatever is set to be the current time in the time zone per the definitions.

There was an interesting case in England after they first set up GMT and started using it. It never was officially put into law precisely for decades.

There were some cases (somebody missed a deadline, etc) that came up. The courts ruled that the time was actually the local time, which would've been the understood meaning before GMT and "standard time" came about.

So, for about 20 years, you had this odd situation were local govt offices and so forth would have to close at say 5:02PM, or 5:05PM or whenever depending on their exact longitude.
