Latrine John-Pissoir Pisses Off Lapdog Press By Bumping John Kirby and His "Peace Deal" Briefing to Focus on Her "Goodbye Party"

It's all about ME! Me, the incompetent DEI hire!

Journalists and aides to President Biden are seething over White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre's refusal to let a national security expert discuss the tentative Israel-Hamas cease-fire at her final briefing Wednesday -- deeming the occasion her "goodbye party."

The press secretary's spotlight-stealing forced the nation to wait an extra hour to learn details of the American hostages being released, including their names -- with Jean-Pierre herself providing no new information at her 306th and last briefing and referring reporters to a National Security Council background call that got underway after she left the stage.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan personally asked for his top spokesman, John Kirby -- a former press secretary at both the Pentagon and State Department -- to take the lectern moments after Biden announced the long-sought deal and cast it as a signature achievement of his team.

Sullivan made the request of White House chief of staff Jeff Zients -- but Jean-Pierre refused to allow it, citing her own prearranged plans to celebrate herself, two sources told The Post.

"She basically said it was her goodbye party," one person recounted.

"She kinda marketed it as a celebration of her and her tenure and unfortunately that took precedence over huge breaking news -- and we haven't had this kind of news in this administration for a long time."

Jean-Pierre spent 51 minutes skirting details about the looming end of the war in Gaza, as exasperated journalists waited to learn the names of two US citizens who are set to be released in the first wave of prisoner exchanges as early as Sunday.

"Sources" were harsh on the incompetent DEI hire:

"I thought at the last minute she would just break and say, 'OK, fine, [Kirby] can just come at the top and he can leave, and then I can wax poetic about my time here, and then I don't really even have to answer any questions and be grilled on anything,'" the first source said.

"But she really wanted to make a point that the briefing room was 'hers.' And so that's why she pushed so much, and in the end, she feels like she won, and I guess she kind of did.

...

"Not allowing actual news to be delivered from the podium on such an important day for the president and the world for your own ego is disgraceful," a longtime Biden aide told The Post of Jean-Pierre's antics.

"I am not sure there is someone that did more damage to the president's reputation than her -- it is really sad."

One outraged reporter who attended Wednesday's briefing said it was "totally unsurprising behavior from someone who was either incapable of recognizing her own shortcomings or unwilling or unable to put in the work required to overcome them."

How did she keep her job?

This might explain it:

Jean-Pierre has at times threatened to call in powerful allies, such as the Rev. Al Sharpton, to back her up, this person said, explaining: "It gets kind of scary for someone like Jeff, who is a white man, who is like, 'I don't want this kind of smoke.'

"She's thrown some serious temper tantrums over this kind of stuff ... and when Anita left, there was no way Jeff was going to have the negotiating skill to bring both of these people to the table and to muscle Kirby back into that briefing room."

Below, Latrine John-Pissoir thanks everybody as if she's won an award. I wouldn't watch this whole clip, just some of her thank-yous in the beginning and then her tearing up at her own self-praise at the end.

She really thinks she's accomplished something.

135 Unfortunately, the Dems have learned a bad habit from Karinge's run.

They can put a trifecta into the speakership and never get called out because of the racism and sexism and homophobia.

And she can be incompetent at her job. She can tell the press what questions she's not going to answer. She can ignore questions she doesn't want to answer.

And the questions she does answer can be transparent lies, and only a single person will call her out on all this.

This is all we will ever get from a Democrat administration, because Democrats spokespeople exist to "agree to disagree" and run out the clock, when they are not lying broadly about their opposition.

From the location of the speech to the Capitol is a little more than a mile and a half. The barricades on the grounds at the Capitol were first breached at 1:00 P.M. Trump uttered the phrase “[w]e fight like hell” at 1:10 P.M. Given that the barricades on the grounds were first breached at 1:00 P.M., and Trump’s delivery of the “fight” phrase took place at 1:10 P.M., the phrase could not have caused the breach of the barricades on the Capitol grounds.

168 96 "UPDATE: Senator Moore has been released from Fulton County Jail."

Was there any legit reason for the arrest?
Posted by: illiniwek
-------
No, and the House and its speaker have got their asses in a sling over it. Basically, Moore is a gadfly type and he called out (as a house member) the corruption of the now deceased GA House Speaker Ralston. Ralston, in his day job, was a lawyer but it was revealed that Ralston used a very old (120 year old) law that permitted an automatic delay in any court proceedings when Ralston claimed he was unable to appear due to legislative business. This happened over and over again in all sorts of cases--civil and criminal to the detriment of public safety (some were DUIs and druggee defendants) and plaintiffs in lawsuits. Cost both the state and plaintiffs money for lawyers time when Ralston pulled that shit for over 1000 cases over the years. Moore, a former House member at the time, called Ralston out on it.

Later, Moore got elected state senator, Moore continued to be a gadfly and publicly spoke against naming a public building for Ralston and why he opposed it with Ralston's family in the audience.
To be continued.

192 Moore doing so caused the ire of Speaker Burns (a crony of Ralston) and Burns banned Senator Moore from the chamber permanently.

Moore also created ire with his own GOP colleagues as he urged a special session to deal with Fani's escapades well before Kemp and the GA GOP finally started to address her sorry ass illegalities in office. That earned him removal from the GOP caucus in that chamber.

So, Senator Moore shows up for a mandated joint session of the state legislature to hear the Gov. State of the State (legislative agenda) which was held in the House chamber due to its size. Moore tried to enter but was blocked from entry and then arrested contrary btw to laws forbidding interference with a legislator doing their job by attending the sessions of teh GA legislature.

So, Burns and the state of GA smeared shit over its face publicly to silence a hated gadfly legislator. This is not going to play well in the courts as arguably criminal offenses, certainly civil offenses were committed by Burns and his hack enforcers.

DUNE was an underappreciated film. I didn't like it at first viewing because the story was rather complex, but it improved greatly with repeated viewings. Yeah, there was Lynch stylism in the visuals and it wasn't strictly sci-fi as it merged that with deities and thrones, but it was still an interesting watch. The remade Dune is much better, but so is film tech. You don't get the new/improved Dune w/o Lynch's first attempt.

A bit of an indictment on the GOPe to have languished in failure theater for so many years. The party was a corpse. Almost no energy or proactivity for populist conservatism (or simply conservatism) despite a brief interlude with Perot's appearance that forced the Gingrich GOP to lean Right briefly to ward off populism.

I regularly pop popcorn in an ordinary 2 quart pot. Put the oil in, popcorn in, lid on and turn the burner up to medium. 5 minutes later it's all popped. You are remarkably black pilled today and nedd to actually report polling with data.

Trump's approval rating is about 56 over the last several days and part of the remainder includes about 5 percent who have no response. See Rassmussen.

If you prefer Gallup, it is slightly less as in about 51 percent but disapproval is about 44 percent by Dems in December. Indys break even, and GOP is much more supportive of Trump than in the past as the NTers die off or quit.

Biden is at 39 percent btw.

Also it was every state that mattered, at least get that right.

Linda Hunt is great in anything. She's walking proof that a strong female part need not be scrawny women fighting giant male bad guys. In "The Year of Living Dangerously"...in which I believe she received and Oscar, she just sold the part...and took heat for accepting a role where she was playing a Vietnamese. They accused her of "yellowface"...but there's no one who could have done the role as well as she did, regardless of ancestry.

358 Speaking of David Lynch,
Watching the (two part) remake of Dune.... beats the hell out of his version.
Posted by: Itinerant Alley Butcher at January 16, 2025 03:34 PM (/lPRQ)

I disagree.

The new version follows the story more directly but doesn't at all capture the feeling/vibe/appearance of being 10,000 years in the future.

The sets look like they were filmed in your local Pinkberry Yoghurt emporium and the actors look and act like they could've been found there as well.

The new one is good but bland, very very bland and familiar.

I have mind bleached the taste and the name of the bottle forever.

366 Is that why they dry everything out?
Posted by: Axeman

Yes. Use a semi sealed container to reheat leftovers, sometimes add a little water as well if protein rich food. You can also buy vented containers designed to vent off excess steam from the reheated food but keep most of it in to aid in cooking time and to aid in preventing the food from drying out. Steam is a very efficient way to cook things.

368 Cj Koehlers book that the movie is based on, is quite a trip, it's no where as linear as the film, yes hunt's character is supposed to be half chinese, in a country that had limited tolerance for same, they were more strongly idenitified with Sukarno over Suharto, the neutralist candidate, and they bore the brunt of the purge in 65

371 Hey mandate lovers. Hey landslide claimers.

Trump did not win in a landslide. There is no solid mandate. He won because he got the wins in the states that matter.

Look at the polling for "approval." FIFTY PERCENT DISAPPROVE of whatever they perceive he is doing.

That's a whole bunch of people. And those of you that are saying the dems are hosing themselves with their performances in the cabinet member hearings, remember that 50 number. Every one of those that are in the "disapproval" side LOVE that behavior the senators are demonstrating.

373 On one of the Greg shows (5 or Guttfeld!), I had to rewind a segment of the clip where KJP was tearing up at the podium, thanking President Biden and First Lady Jill.

The reason was that last bit - she thanked Jill Biden for being the spokesperson.

Maybe she was thanking everyone. But I felt this was "a statement against interest". Evidence of one of the people actually running things in Joe Biden's place, moreso as an un-elected member of the Executive Branch.
