All Kinds of Dogs Cafe

jimscottthestronghold.jpg
"The Stronghold," by Jim Scott
I'm pretty sure it's Smailholm Tower in Northumberland

You will believe a dog can fly.

You will believe a dog has bionic legs.

Firemen render first aid to two dogs rendered unconscious and near-death by smoke from a fire. They make it!

Climbing dog.

Amazon For Cats just delivers empty boxes.

Skunks sound like Muppets? You hear them when the get to the cameraman near the end of the video.

Serious dog, not recommended for amateurs. An x user says it's "the Central Asian Shepherd Dog, also known as the Alabay, Alabai and Turkmen Wolf-Hound is a livestock guardian dog breed."

Another gentle giant.

Dog clerk.

Dog alarm clock.

This doesn't look fun to me but I guess if you're poor, this is a decent replacement for a waterslide.

(not a dog)

Just a hop skip and a jump.

Doggie's first kiss.

I did not know at the time, but that was where all the hard core SS Nazis that weren't accused of war crimes were kept. Hitching his wagon to Don Dokken was not a great long-term strategy, *but* the 1st 4 Dokken albums were better than even a greatest-hits album would have been by Lynch Mob. Lynch was a *beast* while in Dokken, and yet even the 1st 2 Lynch Mob albums show that his playing was no longer the same.

I know that most/all of Dokken did a lot of drugs, but George's playing seemed to fall after "Back for the Attack", and it just never returned to that level again.

I disagree. I watched Disney's The Black Hole this past Saturday while high (I saw it when it originally came out and a couple of times over the years) and most people complain about the weird disjointed ending Hell scene. But right at the beginning the Ernest Borgnine character says "It looks like something right out of Dante's Inferno". So I started paying attention to the religious themes in the movie and holy shit this movie ended up being about life, death, science, religion, new beginnings. All handled with a deft touch. So the Hell scene fit right into movie.

Weird movie that makes no sense whatsoever, which is typical for absurdist theater. According to Wikipedia:

"Rabbits was used as a stimulus in a psychological experiment on the effects of acetaminophen on existential crisis. The research, in a paper entitled "The Common Pain of Surrealism and Death" suggested that acetaminophen acted to suppress the compensatory desire to affirm systems of meaning that viewing surrealism has been shown to produce."

283 We have seen so many dogs in stores and restaurants that I want to scream at these idiots. It's the stores fault for allowing them. I don't mind service dogs, if you're blind or handicapped, that's different. Your chihuahua or Yorkie is not a service dog. We have seen people bring in their huge labs or huskies on just a rope going thru the meat department. It's crazy and I always want to confront them but hubs won't let me.

Probably because they're not being used to "service."

A couple places around here are "pet" (read that as dog) friendly. That's fine so long as the owners have control over their animal. This is not always the case. In fact, it's mostly not.

Having someone's Rottie sticking it's nose into my wife's crotch while in line is poor taste. Especially seeing as how she'd deathly afraid of dogs.

Which leads to confrontations.

Which lead me to over react. And then the law shows up. And there's an hour or so of explanations, threats of lawsuits, etc.

All something I could seriously do without.

And all because someone thinks their ghetto mutt is a "service animal."

Then I checked Zillow to see what kind of prices they get for the houses, and came up with something like 3 million average. But the houses are not 3 million houses sitting on zero cost lots. More like 1.5 million cost to build a replica. Lets round that up to 2.

So it looks like somewhere around 20 billion will be laid out to rebuild it if it were all rebuilt to the program each house had for beds baths living garage etc. Ten insurers each having to lay out 2 billion each. Can that be done?

This is a "tail risk event". This is what "reinsurance" I think they call it is about. Basically, an insurance company has insurance against such a low probability tail event (a whole lot of claims at once). It's essentially a pool they all pay into. Local insurance companies transfer the tail risk to the larger, national pool.
