Jen Rubin "Exits" the Washington Post; Chuck Todd "Exits" NBC

Maybe they can do a show together. Can you imagine the sexual heat that would convect out of your TV?

NBC wouldn't agree to Chuck Todd's terms, so his contract his ending. I assume that NBC wanted him to take a pay cut, because no one's watched him in eight years, and he refused, as he couldn't suffer that indignity.

Chuck Todd's days at NBC News are winding down as the former "Meet the Press" moderator is plotting his next steps in journalism once his contract expires later this year, according to a report.

Todd, who was once a central figure in NBC's political coverage, is quietly mulling his options for life after 30 Rock, according to the Semafor news site.

Todd, 52, has reportedly been meeting with Washington-based media organizations to discuss potential roles outside NBC, including opportunities in broadcast and digital media, Semafor reported.

His contract with the Comcast-owned news outfit is set to expire this year, and Todd has signaled his intention to leave the network, according to the report.

Meanwhile, Jen Rubin is finally leaving the Washington Post. She demanded other journalists resign in protest when their owners made decisions prioritizing profit and sales over wokeness, but didn't resign herself.

She's finally resigned. Except, of course, I don't believe she "resigned." I would bet any amount of money that the Washington Post, losing money and readers at such a pace the paper's existence is literally in danger, looked at its staff and decided to fire the non-performers.

She literally has no constituency at all. Almost no NeverTrumper does. Almost every single NeverTrumper in the country has a high-paid media gig despite having no audience or constituency. They have been paid simply for loyal service to the Democrat/Progressive Cult, and to astroturf a propaganda front against Trump.

Now that all of this money has been shown to have been wasted without effect -- turns out the "Nikki Haley voters" turned out to be only Nikki Haley and her cuck husband -- the entire corrupt corporate media is re-evaluating how much money it spends on NeverTrump nobodies.

But Brian "Love Spud" Stelter is championing her new Substack and claiming it's got the potential to be huge.

Despite, again, the fact that no one reads her now.

The result is a new venture called "The Contrarian," which was first reported Monday by another media anti-Trump figure, CNN media hall monitor Brian Stelter:

Rubin is partnering with former White House ethics czar Norm Eisen and launching something new: a startup publication called The Contrarian.

The startup's tagline, "Not owned by anybody," is a pointed reference to billionaire Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos and other moguls who, in Rubin's view, have "bent the knee" to President-elect Donald Trump.

"Our goal is to combat, with every fiber of our being, the authoritarian threat that we face," Rubin told CNN in an interview ahead of the publication's introduction.

Among the fantastic writers that Rubin will feature on "The Contrarian:" Kellyanne Fitzpatrick's cuck ex-husband George Conway. Gee, where would I get my George Conway otherwise?

Also featured: deranged woke lawyer "former FBI agent" (DEI Division) Asha Rangappa.

And, of course, disgraced corrupt prosecutor Andrew Weissman.

Again, where would I see these important commentators if not for this new "Contrarian" substack? I mean, they're just on CNN literally three times a f***ing week saying the same things over and over again.

The Contrarian joins a growing group of publications -- like The Bulwark and Zeteo, to name two -- that are built on the Substack newsletter platform. Starting Monday, it will publish some content for free but will charge $7 a month for complete access to columns, podcasts, and videos.

Oooh, podcasts! I need to see Jen Rubin, with her face-made-for-radio and body-made-for-mobility-scooter, and I'm eager to spend $84/year for that privilege.

This is going to be big, guys. So big.

Here's her and her new co-host showing off the sizzling sexuality that'll be dripping off your TV screens:

"We'll have a humor column! We'll even have cooking program, but we'll sprinkle in a little pro-democracy flavor!"

He said that. He really said that.

Bluesky Libs doesn't believe she resigned, either:

Oh, she's now on BlueSky. She announced that she would also be flouncing off X.

flouncingrubin.jpg

I want to call her a hero, but I know she'd just humbly reject that praise.

In response to a fire in a mostly leftwing area Olbermann wants people to cheer on the fire...but only if it burns the correct people while remember in the larger picture Trump is about to be inaugurated.

Not only is this morally wrong but...its stupid. Right now people like Olber-douche should be telling Trump and the right "can't we let bygones be bygones?"

100 I respect Jennifer Rubin. Have not always agreed with her on all issues - but think she is a principled and honest journalist.

She used to be a conservative Republican. It's been interesting to watch her transformation...right now she's laser-focused on the threat to our democracy from Republicans. I respect that.

She's joining a bunch of other journalists at a new publication called The Contrarian. Interesting group of contributors. Trump has created a counter-movement of intellectuals from various points of view, now coming together to form a united front.

She was one of the few reasons I was reluctant to cancel my Washington Post subscription. The other was their climate change reporting.

To hell with Jennifer Rubin! I'd like to drop in a contrarian view here. There would be no Trump if it weren't for "conservatives" like Rubin laying the ground work for decades, poisoning the body politic.

People like Jennifer Rubin, George Conway, Rick Wilson, etc. SHOULD BE ON THEIR HANDS AND KNEES BEGGING FOR FORGIVENESS for what they've done to our country.

They can oppose Trump all they want but they will always be complicit in my view for his rise.

Many of these fires were purposefully lit.
Posted by: Seems Legit at January 13, 2025 02:04 PM (gaKF9)

========

It doesn't take much funding to start fires. And if antifa's shock troops are generally the product of wealthy parents (like Tim Kaine's kids), they can exist for a long time without any other funding.

But...they also tend to limit to blue areas.

Posted by: Paco at January 13, 2025 02:09 PM (mADJX)

290 The Jen Rubin on O'Reilly's show clip is an excellent example of the Leftist communication strategy. A strategy they've used since forever. There are three parts of the strategy.

A. Make false/unsupported assertions about how wonderful Democrat plans and their results are or will be. Make assertions characterizing all Democrats and left-leaning people as kind, caring, and better persons than Jesus.

B. In parallel, make assertions that Republicans are totally corrupt and wicked. Make false/unsupported assertions claiming each and every Republican policy and plan is wicked and designed to benefit only the Top One Percent of earners.

C. Depend on no one in the Media Borg asking serious questions about, or giving examples that do not support, your assertions. Do not give well-spoken and fearless Republicans or right-leaning people live TV opportunities to respond to your assertions; recorded push-backs by any and all Republicans are OK because they can be edited to support Democrat assertions. Or not aired at all.

This strategy has worked well for the Left for many years. Its use will continue for a long time, despite it being exposed more and more as lies.

Eh, politics would be better if that was true but generally no. Apolitical types make more money outside the political grifting system than they would if they bothered to set up their own blogs, etc.

The difference is money from donors seeking govt policy is directed in part at pundit influencers to persuade the DC bureaucracy plus Congress to adopt what the donors want. You don't get that from a network of Davids as Insty called it. That is why the MSM, whale donors, GOPe, and Dems are so desperate to shut down the Internet as are their compatriots in the EU/Britain. We are probably on the cusp of a major turning in the West for better or ill. The reactionaries (MSM, GOPe, Dems, big donors) want to return to their comfy era of post cold war politics focusing on identity politics and allowing those with fortunes to play YOLO with the lives of others.

At the end of the day, even people as wealthy as Bezos or Lauren Jobs want their vanity presses to at least break even. They are losing increasing amounts of money so layoffs are built into the cards. Both WaPo, the Atlantic, Gannett, the alphabet news organizations, cable news with the exception of Fox I guess, and so on are declining in reach and prestige because the US public, including Ivy Leaguers are becoming functionally illiterate. Podcasts, videos, etc. have replaced actually reading books, newspapers, etc. and now it has replaced even the mighty cable and alphabet news companies.

Interesting. Nucor makes steel by melting scrap.
USS is an integrated mill, meaning they make steel from iron ore.

Article says the future is the Nucor method, but that is bullshit, long term. Nucor essentially recycles.

Sure, nobody wants to LOSE money, but the "business" model changed, not just due to other forms of media coming along, but because there was a point when powerful forces (in and outside of government) decided they needed propaganda machines, and more than a few of these outfits decided that was A-OK with them, as long as they got to keep the prestige of being "news" organizations.
