You cannot make this up. Then again, nothing should be shocking, but it’s always nice to see the corrupt liberal media get their comeuppance. This incident doesn’t involve a writer or a television host; it’s a cartoonist. Sure, it’s not a massive scalp like taking down someone at CNN or MSNBC, but it’s a little more ironic when said person depicts Trump as a sexual predator, only to get busted for child pornography. The cartoonist Darren Bell is a Pulitzer Prize winner and the first black man to receive the award (via NBC Bay Area):

Now, Governor Kathy Hochul has finally done something about this crisis: As Eater NY reports, she’s signed the Restaurant Reservation Anti-Piracy Act into law. Through the law, which was passed by the State Legislature over the summer, Hochul promises that the state will “put an end to the predatory market” so that ordinary people can eat at these trendy restaurants. Through platforms like Resy, resellers snatch up reservations using bots, then peddle them to consumers who fork over hundreds to thousands of dollars for tables.

Democrat tore Trump sign, flag from Republican's fence

JANUARY 17--Claiming that he was “intimidated” by a pro-Trump political sign and flag attached to his next-door neighbor’s fence, a Florida Man tore the items down and tossed them into an adjacent lake, according to police who arrested the registered Democrat.
Police accuse Lee Jonathan Farber, 55, of “forcefully ripping the sign and flag from a wooden fence” Tuesday morning. Farber reportedly “did not like the pro Trump political signs” that had been screwed into 67-year-old Leon Pierce’s white picket fence.
Pierce, a registered Republican, told TSG that he has affixed a rotating collection of spray-painted signs to his fence with pro-Donald Trump and anti-Joe Biden messages. The sign that landed in the lake read “Eight days to go and fuck you Joe,” while the flag was a “Trump 2024 Fuck Your Feelings” model.

56 It could get down to - 20 and I wouldn’t care except southern homes aren’t built with cold temps in mind. I want a house built to withstand cold like the science bases in the Antarctica. I hate having to wrap my outdoor pipes and faucets, drip water all night or if it’s going to be a hard freeze ( relatively speaking for the south) where the temps will be well below freezing for over 24 hours, you shut your water off and bleed all of it out so you don’t run the high risk of a burst pipe.

He asked, what can I do for you? I told him, I was going to ask him that. He said a piece of chocolate cake and two glasses of champaigne good? I said perfect. They came later, a big surprise for her (candle and all), and they weren't on the bill.

It had two segments on Pittsburgh. One was four old ladies from down Southside. The other was three teenage girls, from an unspecified area. From the sound of them, I'd guess up northeast from Pittsburgh in Allegheny county.

I used to stew in those accents as a little kid, before I left for the mountains in Colorado, and then Appalachia. Nothing sounds like them anywhere else, even in the rest of PA.

Once I was hearing them again on this video, I was captivated. I ended up sitting there through those entire segments for overcame hour, because it took me right back to being a little 10yo yinzer.

There are a few houses around here doing things like that. This one house has Trump, and fuck biden banners nailed to his fence since before biden shuffled into the oval office, and they're still there. A tad old and tattered, but I'm pretty sure they'll be there till the last of the stars burn out. Nobody has messed with him, or the others for that matter.

97 68 I was watching an old documentary from the 80s about American dialects, back before the Internet annihilated them all.

It had two segments on Pittsburgh. One was four old ladies from down Southside. The other was three teenage girls, from an unspecified area. From the sound of them, I'd guess up northeast from Pittsburgh in Allegheny county.

I used to stew in those accents as a little kid, before I left for the mountains in Colorado, and then Appalachia. Nothing sounds like them anywhere else, even in the rest of PA.

Once I was hearing them again on this video, I was captivated. I ended up sitting there through those entire segments for overcame hour, because it took me right back to being a little 10yo yinzer.

I’m writing a bit right now on Latin in the Catholic mass, and why word order seems to not matter nearly as much as in English. Nouns change their endings depending on whether they’re being used as the subject, the direct object, or various indirect object forms. And their adjective, besides matching gender as in any Romance language, also match that.

Which means it doesn’t really matter where a noun is in a sentence because its purpose is in its ending. And it doesn’t matter which side of a noun its adjectives appear on, because which noun its attached to is obvious from its ending.

They aren’t found in quantity in places like California or Florida with “new money” and people moving around a lot. 227 Oddly enough, Spanish also lost its declensions and case endings, and I don't know why. Vulgar Latin and Gothic were both inflected languages, but no where as close as Old Norse and Saxon. Maybe the Moorish conquest had something to do with that, Portuguese is very similarly non inflected, though unlike English they both retained very complex verb tenses and forms.

I think you meant to say AF1 has taken off one more time than it has landed.

This happened when Nixon resigned. He resignation letter said the resignation would be effective at noon, August 9, 1974. He boarded AF1 and took off for California before noon that day. Ford was sworn-in shortly after noon.

249 Orlok is about to watch the new SNL tonight. My God, it is starting off with a skit about MSNBC. Dave Chappelle is to be the host, so maybe this is just a weak beginning. Orlok knows, though, that he is probably lying to himself. Once Dennis Miller left the show and they fired Norm Macdonald, the show was running on fumes. Tina Fey was able to restart the show's collective pulse. but after she left, the funny went with her. (I will not lie - if that one visited the Carpathians, Orlok would show up to inquire about a blood donation, if you know what I mean... which would unfortunately be exactly what it sounds like.)

Now Chappelle is doing the opening monologue, and it is somewhat funny. He is mining the LA fires for material, and it showcases his talent. Yet Orlok is still not confident. I tell you these things, but I do not intend live-blogging the program. First of all, Orlok is a Nosferatu, and therefore cannot live-blog anything. Secondly, Undead blogging would be seen as tedious, and I would not inflict that upon my Horde friends. Orlok will continue to watch, but he will probably flip over later to the Heroes and Icons Channel to catch up on "The Rat Patrol."

258 It could get down to - 20 and I wouldn’t care except southern homes aren’t built with cold temps in mind. I want a house built to withstand cold like the science bases in the Antarctica. I hate having to wrap my outdoor pipes and faucets, drip water all night or if it’s going to be a hard freeze ( relatively speaking for the south) where the temps will be well below freezing for over 24 hours, you shut your water off and bleed all of it out so you don’t run the high risk of a burst pipe.

German has some gendered nouns that are suggestive.

A Bü:stenhalter is only worn by women, but it's a masculine noun anyway, because it grabs tits.

Doors (Tür) and walls (Wand/Mauer) are feminine, but floors (Boden) and ceilings (Zimmer) are masculine and neutral, respectively. Zimmer is also the word for "room." I always thought it was interesting that dwellings are split between genders.

Well, you need most of Yukon, too, if you want to make the Alaska Highway all within U.S. territory. Saskatchewan and Alberta have a lot of mineral wealth. Huge uranium deposits in Sask, also oil and gas and potash. Now also producing lithium from brines, and even helium. Lots of coal in alberta, plus oil and gas. Yukon has great mineral potential, too. Canadian shield: gold, uranium, rare earths, lithium, diamonds, copper, nickel, iron.

You can tell if someone has been vaccinated, but not infected. They'll have only spike antibodies, but not any of the "N" antibodies (or other ones).

What I don't know if there's a way to tell if you've been infected but not vaccinated. There may well be, but it's probably more complicated.

Those that don't want to become Americans can move to Ontario or Quebec. Those that do, give them a green card, and an opportunity to become a citizen after 5 years. Individuals who have been life-long welfare drones not eligible. The Provincial Health Insurance plans would be privatized. Give them a cash endowment as initial capitalization, and let them collect premiums from their subscribers, which they would be able to afford to pay by virtue of having a lower tax burden. Let existing U.S. HMO's into that market to compete.

To assume that the USA has to take the whole schmear is a category error. You can cherry-pick. There is a pretty high level of separatist sentiment in Western Canada, particularly in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Maybe 20% of voters right now would not dismiss secession out of hand. Possibly more. A good marketing campaign by Trump could turn that into annexationist sentiment. One real good point in favor of annexation is that Alberta and Saskatchewan are landlocked, no seaports, and shipping goods through a hostile rump of Canada would be problematic. If Alberta and Saskatchewan join the USA, we have access to ports on 3 coasts, via existing highways and rail lines.

One year it always seemed to snow on Saturday night into Sundays so we either didn't have church or it really cut down on church attendance. I live in Tampa, have been or many years, but I grew up in Ohio. Floridians dress the same no matter if it's 90s or 30s: shorts, t-shirt, flip flops. We might put in a sweater or a sweatshirt if it gets near freezing. It's the flipping Northerners like WS-ites I see a the last few weeks all bundled up with winter coats and scarves. Most Floridians (me included) don't even OWN a flippin winter coat. We just dress how we dress. We don't layer clothes. It's a real funny trope about Florida man, but we laugh at you idiots scraping your windshields, shoveling snow, stamping your slush sodden boots and winter socks to try to get some life in your toes and blowing on your numb fingers. We only have to walk to our cars to our house and back. We turn on the AC once we get in. Maybe run the defroster to take the fog off the windshield, then it's AC on low baby, no matter what the temp.
