Politico Panics: Trump Set to Unleash "Shock and Awe" Executive Orders

Hello, everyone. It's the last week of the Biden Usurpation.

Aww. Is this like Joe Biden tyrannically changing the actual law at his whim, or just rolling back Joe Biden's executive orders?

resident-elect Donald Trump will issue "a blizzard of executive orders" as soon as he inaugurated Jan. 20, Sen. John Barrasso predicted Sunday.

Speaking on CBS' "Face the Nation," the Wyoming Republican said: "When President Trump takes office next Monday, there is going to be shock and awe with executive orders. A blizzard of executive orders on the economy, as well as on the border."

Executive orders, for better or worse, allow a president to bypass Congress. But Barrasso, the new Senate majority whip, said that he expects Trump to also rely on the narrow Republican majority in the Senate and even more slender one in the House to get his agenda enacted.

"When we met with President Trump earlier this past week," he told host Margaret Brennan, "what President Trump said the No. 1 goal for the Senate needs to be to get his team in place. I've met with just about all of them. I support every one of these nominees. As the whip, my job is to make sure they get across the finish line. Get on the job, and President Trump deserves a team early."

Meanwhile, the incoming National Security Advisor wants the entire current staff to submit their resignations by 12 noon on January 20.

He wants them physically out of the offices by 12:01 PM, too.

Incoming National Security Advisor Mike Waltz told Breitbart News exclusively that every intelligence official from the various departments and agencies across the federal government currently detailed to the National Security Council (NSC) at the White House under outgoing President Joe Biden will be expected to vacate the premises by 12:01 p.m. Eastern Time on Inauguration Day when President-elect Donald Trump is inaugurated again.

Waltz, in a phone interview earlier this week, told Breitbart News that he is making sure everyone understands that it's "crystal clear what the agenda is."

"Everybody is going to resign at 12:01 on January 20," Waltz said. "We're working through our process to get everybody their clearances and through the transition process now. Our folks know who we want out in the agencies, we're putting those requests in, and in terms of the detailees they're all going to go back."

The way the NSC works is the National Security Advisor oversees a team of political appointees from the president who oversee a wide range of what are called "detailees"--people who work at the various agencies and departments across the federal government who are assigned, or detailed, to work at the White House for a period of time on the NSC in a portfolio in which they demonstrate expertise. These career intelligence officials come from places as wide-ranging as the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the Pentagon, and other law enforcement and intelligence agencies, and report up to the political appointees atop each major portfolio in the NSC. The NSC has various issue-specific portfolios like counterterrorism and cyber policy as well as regional portfolios focused on things like the western hemisphere or the Middle East or Europe or Asia. The detailees then help coordinate back to the various agencies and departments so the whole federal government executes on the decisions that the president makes.

One of the major problems Trump faced in his first term came from inside the NSC with some of these detailees, as the person who spearheaded the first impeachment of Trump--Alexander Vindman--was one such person. Waltz told Breitbart News that he is taking very serious steps to ensure that there are no more Vindmans. From this point forward, he said, anyone who gets a detailee position on the NSC will be on board with the president's agenda.

"The issue with Vindman wasn't during transition--the issue with Vindman was he was already slated to transfer but didn't come in until the summer or fall after," Waltz said. "So that's one, number two--the folks that we're bringing in are 100 percent aligned with the president's agenda. Hell, the entire world seems to be aligned with his agenda if you just look at the outreach from world leaders and everybody who wants to come to Mar-a-Lago. So, there's a little bit of a difference in that everybody was reflexively just against him [the first time] just for the sake of it and the Trump Derangement Syndrome was out of control in 2017. Now, after seeing and feeling four years of progressive governance under Biden and seeing the world come unglued, we're not even seeing the levels of resistance to his agenda--that's just a broader point. But also the folks we're bringing in, the key members of my team, have relationships out in these agencies and we know who is completely on board."

More from Breitbart's Matthew Boyle at the link. Interestingly, Waltz says he's considering a new way to combat Russian and Chinese hacker operations against the US: Going on offense and unleashing our own hackers against Russia and China until they are deterred from further cyber attacks.

The criminal Christopher Wray will be out before Trump's in office.

In somewhat-related news, lawyer and director of the Article III Project Mike Davis has a "dark warning" for the criminal prosecutors and judges who have unleashed lawfare on their political opponents:

I'd imagine mostly spying. As in, stealing the data as it crosses the infrastructure. As Snowden revealed, they have back doors to most US-designed hardware and software, not to mention the data cables and trunks in the US and around the world.

So they don't really need to "hack" anyone in the traditional sense. They have all the information about every person on this planet that they could ever need.

49 I was musing about PDT taking office again andagainI realized just how big a mistake the Deep State made in getting rid of President Trump in 2020.

PDT has had 4 years to really dig into issues and take a long hard look at what our government has been up to.

He doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected so he can afford to go scorched earth on the Deep State.

At least, that's what I think I'm seeing from the Trump camp.

Vindman has already put up a post on X bitterly complaining about this. The people who are detailed to the NSC are "nonpolitical", you see - like him.

I suggest that we take three steps with regards to Alexander Semyonivich:

1) Determine how much money Alexander Semyonivich has received from Ukraine;

2) Determine whether Alexander Semyonivich registered as a foreign agent representing Ukraine;

3) Prosecute Alexander Semyonivich for violating FARA - ideally in Federal court in Oklahoma.

60 I remember in January 2009 (and December 200 the non-stop whining and pleading from the media about "can't we just put Obama in office now, so he can start fixing everything? Why do we have to wait so loooong??? It's so unfair that Bushitler gets to remain in office when the people have voted." Now Biden is throwing every roadblock he can in the way in his lame duck period, and the media gets a case of the vapors that Trump is planning a bunch of executive orders.

61 "Executive orders, for better or worse, allow a president to bypass Congress. "

I don't believe that is exactly true. I don't think there's a constitutional mechanism for the President to bypass congress and legislate on his own. EO are supposed to facilitate implementation of laws passed by congress and clarify the administrative branch's understanding of those laws.

I think this is more pre-teen girl level fear-mongering by the media.

96 I was musing about PDT taking office again andagainI realized just how big a mistake the Deep State made in getting rid of President Trump in 2020.

PDT has had 4 years to really dig into issues and take a long hard look at what our government has been up to.

He doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected so he can afford to go scorched earth on the Deep State.

At least, that's what I think I'm seeing from the Trump camp.

99 I've said this before - but the Democrats made a world-historical error stealing the election from Trump in 2020.

A second Trump term starting in 2020 would have been marked by much of the same occasional ineptitude and poor personnel decisions that marked Trump's first term.

Instead, they gave Trump four years to meditate on the errors he committed in his first term, and their attempts to throw Trump into prison on fake charges indicated how high the stakes were for him personally.

You security clearance is about you. Your need to know is what changes. If you have no need to know a thing, you don't get to know it. Basically, you are on file as qualifying at some level of security. You only have access if you are in a need to know position.

191 > Nuclear would work too, but the anti-carbonistas screech incoherently when you mention that.

The USSR's RBMK design implemented at Chernobyl was deeply flawed. It depended on a positive void coefficient in the coolant, meaning it's more reactive where there is less coolant. So as more steam pockets in the coolant, the device starts to runaway, creating more voids in the coolant.

There were designs at the time that operated in the exact opposite way. An increase in the voids in coolant (eg steam pockets) would decrease reactivity. The design was stupid and the people running the reactor were arrogant and careless.

Nearly forty years later, we have many better designs than we did at that time, and again, Chernobyl was a bad design AT THE TIME.

The stuff they didn't have back doors in to (like google's server software), they were able to hack by man-in-the-middle'ing the private fiber optic lines between google datacenters, where the data wasn't encrypted.

That was 10+ years ago. I'm sure it's gotten much better in the meantime, especially with how aggressive the government has become when dealing with the tech companies.

In fact, there were stories a few years back about how Russia was going back to using typewriters and couriers with physical paper for any important communications, as they determined that it was impossible to guarantee that the US government wasn't spying on any form of electronic communication.

228 Lots of treaties to deal with, too -

Wikipedia: List of the United States treaties, in particular
1950 - 1999
2000 - Current

For instance, 2016 - The Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol is an international agreement to gradually reduce the consumption and production of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). It is a legally binding agreement designed to create rights and obligations in international law.[3]

The Montreal Protocol was originally created to preserve and restore the ozone layer; participating countries agreed to phase out chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), gases that had been causing ozone depletion. HFCs do not contain chlorine, so they do not cause ozone depletion, and therefore have been replacing CFCs under the Protocol.[4] However, HFCs are powerful greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change,[5] so this amendment adds HFCs to the list of chemicals that countries promise to phase down.[6]

As of November 4, 2024, 163 states[2] and the European Union[7] have ratified the Kigali Amendment. (More)

With that happening, it should also allow the POTUS to walk into the White House with whoever he wants to have on his staff. "Career" White House officials shouldn't lose their jobs, but the POTUS should be able to reassign them out of the White House into a department where he doesn't have to put up with them.

I'm betting that the Trump folks learned this lesson after what happened to them from November 10, 2016 to January 20, 2017 when everything they were even thinking of doing was leaked to the press.

Funny how quiet things have been now, and how Trump hasn't bit on any of the traps the media has tried to spring on him.

Donald Hamilton, whom I understand knew a bit about guns, had Matt Helm declare once that the Luger was "a comedy pistol that pulled around seven corners before it got to where the bullet went off."

Still, a lovely gun, and it fitted my hand as if tailored for it.

428 @402 Thanks.

GOP national security hawks in particular viewed this as problematic, we’re told, fueling renewed doubts about her confirmation prospects. Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, suggested on a WSJ podcast Wednesday that Gabbard should disavow her previous opposition to the 702 program.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) also sent us a statement Thursday night supporting Gabbard’s 702 stance — a key indicator of how the GOP leadership is thinking about her nomination.

If it comes down to trusting Cotton, it's an easy call. He's solid.

Essentially what's going on is that Gabbard said she was totally against FISA-702 because even though the language only allows surveillance on foreign nationals, it was abused due to who these foreign nationals associated with. So, if a foreign nation associates with a US Citizen, then that citizen is valid for surveillance. This was further abused in 2008 when the text was amended on Section 702, which allows American intelligence agencies to collect, use, and share foreign personal data stored on servers managed by U.S.-based cloud service providers—a situation some describe as “mass surveillance.”

Gabbard did a 180 degree turn on the issue, and now they're saying she will be confirmed. Keep in mind that foreign intelligence services do the same thing for the US...so that's how you get the UK spying on US citizens with the CIA's and NSA's approval. Incidentally, that's how they were able to bug Trumps phones etc.
