Huffington Post To Lay Off More than One Quarter of Its Propagandists

Alexander C. Kaufman
@AlexCKaufman

In the coming weeks, HuffPost is going to ax upward of one-quarter of our newsroom.

Under @gzornick's leadership, my team won awards, broke major stories and beat our monthly traffic goals by threefold.

How does dismantling us serve long-term business or journalistic goals?

Alexander C. Kaufman
@AlexCKaufman

Before any MAGA folks reply to smear mine or my colleagues' work as partisan, I'm proud to note that Republican political and industry leaders have routinely shared and praised our coverage of things like nuclear power, mining, and the electrical grid over the past year.

Sure.

This isn't just about Learn to Code. The leftwing propaganda media has done everything it could to starve right-leaning writers of advertising income. They've deliberately worked to make us essentially unemployed.

We should celebrate their own unemployment.

There's not a single moment where any of them even so much as consider that the reason everyone is abandoning them is because the "work" "product" they've been "producing" for the last three decades has been not just shit, but completely antithetical to anything that vaguely resembles the practice of journalism (in the case of the media) or competent administration and statecraft (in the case of politicians).

80 Again, this is astonishing - left-wing media flourished after Trump won in 2016 - it was the best thing that had ever happened to them.

Now, with Trump's new victory, left-wing media is collapsing, because they have no credibility left.

In retrospect, the Democrats made a world-historical mistake by stealing the election in 2020, and installing a drooling demented person as President.

Now, instead of dealing with four more years of Trump the Grey, who did things like appoint Chris Wray to run the FBI, they get Trump the White, who does things like appoint Kash Patel to run the FBI.

It's not just the poor quality of the work product, but the supply of the product has far out-stripped the demand. The internet has pretty much eliminated the need for each individual city to have news gatherers and news readers so the vast majority of their jobs will go away.

They don't realize that they are still trying to sell mediocre quality telephone booths in a cell-phone world.

The “legacy” news media had a monopoly for so long, they have no idea what’s coming. They are the equivalent of Sears and Roebuck.

Lots of good real estate, but the world has passed them by due to mismanagement. Cat video ladies on YT get more views and subscriptions.

My hometown newspaoer/website is nothing but sports, for the most part. The real news stories are suppressed to an alarming degree. They won’t allow stories to load unless you “subscribe”; at least if Java is enabled.

213 76 Back in the ancient times of my youth, teachers were, in the case of the men, mostly vets, WW2 or Korea. My 9th grade English teacher made the announcement he was leaving the teaching profession and joining the Marine Corps. Ran into him in Vietnam, 1st Lt, A4 Skyhawk jockey.
Posted by: bill in arkansas, not gonna comply with nuttin, waiting for the 0300 knock on the door at January 09, 2025 12:13 PM (gm9Sb)

I think this is part of the problem too. Men bought the feminist drivel that women could do anything men could do -better - and ceded all power and authority to them. Now - the teaching profession is dominated by women - has it improved? Look at L.A. - the fire dept and city leadership - dominated by 'women'. Does it appear to be effective?

Men in this country need to put their foot (feet?) down and say enough is enough. We don't want to put you back in the kitchen - but we need to demand accountability, competence and sanity if you're going to put yourself forth as 'leaders'.

It's up to the men to man up and demand to be heard and respected again. Otherwise we'll go the way of all female dominated societies...now go make me a sammich.....

If you are trying to get rid of them, my advice would be to see if you can get a grandkid or neighborhood kid to go through them and see if you have anything that is worth real money.

Some 90s stuff can be REALLY expensive.
Ex. An Original Zoo Pressing of Tool's Aenima will cost you 1k in VG+ - NM shape.

Selling them off to a store or shop will likely net you around 20-30% of their actual value.

It all depends on what you have and the condition, of course.

That would be the implication that we are all protoplasm machines....

It would be the implication if our brains were fat-based Turing Machines.

You really don't know how pessimistic the idea that we are no more than Turing-Complete is to our state of mind.

And yet, if we were Turing Complete and Turing-Halting can be encoded, there is no telling how it can be encoded except as merely a symbol. So how did Alan Turing's process come up with it? If he needed a new symbol to encode it?

No matter what "AI" we build in a laboratory, it can never be more than Turing-Complete, because it's built on machines that only have to be Turing-Complete.

Thus the *unprovable* speculation is that we are very very likely to be More than Turing-Complete--if machines at all.

The problem with people like Carter, who like the rest of us will be judged in the next life, is that they leave a legacy that allows people to assess what they did in this one.

He is left wanting. If anyone takes a genuine look at who he was, how he behaved, and the fact he spent the last several decades pretending to be someone he's not.

He was a low, shallow, vindictive narcissist. Unfortunately, a set of qualities that describe many Democrat politicians.

We get to talk about it, because he chose to put himself out there. Doesn't mean anyone is trying to judge his eternal soul.

I could drive my Hummer through it." The audience roared with laughter and the next day Arnold rocketed to first place in the polls. From that moment on her numbers plummeted. Boom, career over. Yes they are. Pakistanis are very loyal labour voters. In the past, labour has actively hidden the crimes, and some of their employees in their CPS were actively finding girls for the pakis to rape. Additionally, labour sent out a memo to all districts telling them to not prosecute or publicize the fact that pakis were raping thousands of girls.

Not that I really want to spend too much time thinking about this monstrosity, but... which is worse? The evil of the people actually doing this stuff, or the evil of the people who know it's going on, are in the position entrusted with the monopoly of force to stop it, and look the other way because they simply don't want to stop it?

Evil is evil, and will always be with us, but these somehow seem like two different species of evil, with the latter being somehow worse. A sick animal is a sick animal and needs to be put down. But if you found out the local zookeeper was intentionally buying in sick animals and letting them out at night, and then fighting tooth and nail against Animal Control doing their jobs... going on kafkaesque gaslight campaigns against anyone who speaks out...

At a conference talk once, the presenter showed a picture of two punch card decks, and asked the 300+ people present which one was 'written' by a professional programmer. I was the only one who knew.

Both had marker designs drawn on the top edge. One was secured by one rubber band, the other by three. It was the three bander that was professional.

Prejudice... ie Pre Judgement... bad... making an uninformed Judgement... yeah... bad...

Judice... Judgement... Good. We HAVE to make judgements, but we should do it when we have studied the issues... and understand the consequences.

The entire police system in the UK was "captured" by the left, and the mot outrageous leftist fantasy policies were made mandatory. All police officers in the UK, starting decades ago, are compulsorily trained to overlook crimes by Muslims, since to accuse them of anything is deemed "racist" and "Islamophobic." In addition, the police are required to investigate anyone who accuses a Muslim of anything, because to do so is a potential "hate crime." This is nationwide policy, not some crazy local police acting against orders.

One victim says the police actually showed her internal documents overtly stating that Muslims are a "protected class" immune from prosecution unless on video committing the act.

514 Before any MAGA folks reply to smear mine or my colleagues' work as partisan, I'm proud to note that Republican political and industry leaders have routinely shared and praised our coverage of things like nuclear power, mining, and the electrical grid over the past year.

As I don't believe the Republican Party is remarkably better than the Democrat Party, my "attack" wouldn't be *partisan*. Partisan doesn't exhaust the sense by which this MAGA advocate would call call you flacks and propagandists.

I saw this Pakastani guy unwittingly condemn his own religion, as he understands it.

He was one of the 11 men that was caught with the "consenting minor", and he said he was NEW to the culture, he didn't KNOW the law.

And then he followed that up with "All I know is SHARIA LAW".

Thus, a Muslim is implying that gang-banging (was it 7-yo?) young girls IS okay in Sharia Law.
