Kamala Harris Is Taking a Taxpayer Funded Trip Around the World... to Inform Foreign Governments of the Biden Administration's Accomplishments

Wait, what?

We're paying for her and her aides and her security detail to take a round-the-world trip to tell foreigners about Biden's and Harris's alleged accomplishments?

What are we even talking about? What is happening?

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to embark on a whirlwind farewell tour next week that will take the vanquished 2024 Democratic presidential nominee to Asia, the Middle East and Europe in the final days of the Biden administration.

Harris, 60, is expected to meet with foreign leaders and US service members stationed in Singapore, Bahrain and Germany throughout the five-day trip, slated for Jan. 13 to Jan. 17, and trumpet her and President Biden's exploits during their only term in the White House.

"Throughout her trip, the Vice President will discuss the accomplishments of the Biden-Harris Administration over the past four years in each region, the U.S. partnership with the respective nations, the contributions of U.S. military forces to regional and global security, and the enduring national security interests of the United States," the White House said in a statement Tuesday.

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will join Harris on her final world tour as vice president and "engage with civil society, including religious leaders and families of servicemembers," the White House said.

I'm sure our warriors deployed overseas will be overjoyed to be bothered with another political photo op by a useless loser.

The voyage will allow Harris to check Bahrain off her country count list, which she's never visited as veep, and make the island in the Persian gulf -- which she pronounced as "Beh-ran" just two years ago -- the 22nd country she's traveled to on the taxpayer's dime.

She has previously visited Germany and Singapore as vice president.

Conservatives on social media ridiculed Harris for embarking on the overseas journey in her final days in office....

"We must see where we have been to know what we have done," one X user quipped in an apparent reference to Harris' infamous proclivity to speak in "word salad."

Speaking of the dick-riding devi, there was mild amusement on the right when Deb Fischer's husband balked at shaking Kamala Harris's hand when his wife, Republican Deb Fischer, was being sworn in.

I linked this myself with a throwaway "no one likes Kamala." I didn't give it much thought because I didn't think it was worth much thought.

The left, however, ranted and seethed:

It turns out that Bruce Fischer didn't snub Kamala -- he was holding the Bible his wife would swear her oath on with his left hand, and with his right hand, the one Kamala wanted to shake, he was holding his cane upon which he was leaning, because he's partially disabled. He didn't refuse to take Kamala's hand; he instead prioritized not falling down on his head and breaking his hip.

Well, that's MAGA's claim, says the diagnosably retarded Daily Beast, which insists that the cane was just a Racist Prop to get way with his racist snubbery.

MAGA Gives 'Real Reason' for Kamala Snub by Senator's Hubby

Bruce Fischer, husband to Republican Sen. Deb Fischer, had a cane in one hand and the Bible in the other.

"Real reason" is put in sneer-quotes and attributed to "MAGA" to suggest that they're all lying liars who lie about having to walk with a cane.

It wasn't just the despicable sexual-assaulter and unemployable moron Don LeMon who shrieked at the obvious racism of this disabled man for choosing his cane over a Strong Empowered Woman of Color's hand.

The whole of the left cried out at the Holocaust-level horror.

Including NeverTrump grifter clown Joe Walsh (not the guitarist, obvs) and former "real media journalist" and Republican primary debate "moderator" John Harwood.

No one on the left ever gets censored or restricted for pushing out one filthy stupid lie after another. No fact-checkers swarm them.

Their lies are a Public Good.

11 In Kamala's defense, I too would probably take advantage of a tax payer paid ultra luxury world tour on a private jet before I had to go back to normal grifting as well.

When is her next chance to fly on a private jet? Especially since Epstein died? And not a Gulfstream little baby jet, a real life private 757!

I doubt Trump will be flying her around on his 757 any time soon.

Nope. Not gonna' happen. A downhill siphon only works if the resulting fall ... after the initial rise caused by the one-time suction event ... uses enough potential energy to offset the initial lift of the material vertically.

If it could ? Then you'd have solved perpetual motion. Won't work. Do not pass go. Do not collect jack shit.

Some "reactionless drives" have been awarded patents, though. They're not perpetual motion machines, but critics say they are as equally impossible. Personally, I'm not so sure. I've seen videos of Cook Inertial Propulsion devices and read the patents, and it seems t me that that particular design does not violate any physical laws and could in principle (i.e. converting rotational force to directional force).

Proviso: I'm not a physicist but I'm not stupid, either. I've read some of the attempted rebuttals of the Cook Engine, and they don't hold water. Problem is, it'd be very very difficult to build a device successfully. Not fusion-level difficult, but difficult enough to prevent one ever having been made yet.

185 Hey. Just wrote up something you all may enjoy.
1/3
This is a subject I have been waiting a while to have someone bring up, and I am glad Ace did earlier today.

One of the "intolerable acts" that motivated the independence movement was King George III asserted the right to change venue for any official accused of capital offense in the colonies.

An act for the impartial administration of justice...
"...or in acting under the direction and order of any magistrate, for the suppression of riots, or for the carrying into effect the laws of revenue,..."

"...to the satisfaction of the said governor, or lieutenant-governor respectively, that an indifferent trial cannot be had within the said province, in that case, it shall and may be lawful for the governor, or lieutenant-governor, to direct, with the advice and consent of the council, that the inquisition, indictment, or appeal, shall be tried in some other of his Majesty's colonies, or in Great Britain;"

Posted by: bob at January 08, 2025 03:59 PM (qUMgz)

186 2/3
The background is that the officials feared an impartial jury in the colonies, but the the colonists saw it the other way and felt the administrators would be free to commit murder without consequences.

All this made them put it into the constitution that all trails had to be held with a jury, of peers (impartial), in jurisdiction where the crime was committed. And that prevents the change of venue to outside DC.

Ironic, isn't it?

Amendment VI
"...the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed,..."

But Article Three Section Two says:
"Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed. "

Posted by: bob at January 08, 2025 03:59 PM (qUMgz)

187 3/3
So the murder of Ashli Babbit was *exactly* the type of case this was meant to cover (excepting that it is not a capital crime anymore to murder someone) and the handling of the case by a corrupt system to allow the murderer to go free is *exactly* the results the colonists expected when they labeled this the "murder act."

Yet in a broader sense, the Americans wrote the constitution to avoid the kind of biased juries all the J6 victims have seen. They did NOT want trials to be held in ruling class cities with biased juries where the guilty would be set free, and the innocent persecuted.

Some "reactionless drives" have been awarded patents, though. They're not perpetual motion machines, but critics say they are as equally impossible. Personally, I'm not so sure. Cast iron and carbon steel are basically the same composition. CI retains heat better, but is a larger thermal mass, and so takes longer to heat up, and has less responsive control during cooking. Carbon steel is lighter, heats up quicker, but also retains heat less well for the same reason.

272 SS sucks for heat transmission. It is very common in pans so I don't think people realize how much better carbon steel or cast iron is. -- more even heat and quicker response to changing input.

High end multi-ply cookware has an aluminum core sandwiched between thin layers of SS, so the work of transmitting heat is largely done by the Al, which has much better thermal conductivity.

Not normal use. At water or oil temperatures it is totally inert.
Yes, if you leave it to burn it will emit toxic fumes, but most things do.

To kill a bird you have to leave it on the burner, with no overheat protection, and let it scorch with no water or oil in it.

291 His thinking is sound except the bit about teflon being harmful.

It's not really the teflon, it's the breakdown products, which include PFAS and various other chemicals. Whether PFAS is really a problem is another question.

When Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE) breaks down, it releases toxic chemicals into the air, including:
Fluorocarbon gases: Tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) and difluorocarbene radicals (RCF2) are the main decomposition products.
Carbonyl fluoride: A highly toxic byproduct of PTFE pyrolysis.
Hydrogen fluoride: A highly toxic byproduct of PTFE pyrolysis.
Perfluoroisobutylene: A highly toxic byproduct of PTFE pyrolysis.
CO, CO2, CF4, and COF2: Byproducts of Teflon combustion.
Teflon coatings on nonstick cookware can start to break down at temperatures above 500°F (260°C). Inhaling these fumes can lead to polymer fume fever, also known as the Teflon flu.
Teflon is often incinerated like other garbage, which releases PFAS chemicals into the environment. ...PFAS chemicals have been linked to many health effects, including kidney and testicular cancer, immune system dysfunction, and thyroid disease.

Posted by: lin-duh of the garbage clan at January 08, 2025 04:02 PM (K2iv3)

I have All Clad, Le Creuset and Lodge Cast Iron.

I've cooked on cast iron most of my life, but it is worth noting that it's a different beast. Takes longer to heat up (but holds heat well), and you have to be pretty specific in how you clean it (no harsh soaps with lye, has to be completely dry before you put it away. Old school people don't use any soap on it at all).

As far as non stick? It's not as good as teflon, but a well seasoned pan can cook really solid fried eggs w/ a little bit of butter or other lubricant.

This is a thing often ignored. Because its not an interesting topic. Population density - and all the things that have happened to get it this high as a possibility.

And for what ? To enable clusters of pricks to lord over the rest of us.

401 395 You can buy Staub at half the price of Le Creuset and get the full performance of Le Creuset. It is also made in France and says so on the lid, if that is important.

I was watching the prices before Xmas, and I can't agree. Staub had sales and LC did not, but it wasn't a 50% difference.

403 Another fire has broken out - this one is right by Leo Carrillo camping grounds. This area was wiped out by the Woolsey Fire in 2018. This one will involve Ventura County.

A disk has a tip built in!

Now a leper, after a Kamala blow, may say "Keep the tip."

405 Add most of Texas to the list.

This is a thing often ignored. Because its not an interesting topic. Population density - and all the things that have happened to get it this high as a possibility.

And for what ? To enable clusters of pricks to lord over the rest of us.

Even 100 years ago ... NYC and Chicago and Dallas and Houston and Atlanta and LA and Seattle and on and on simply couldn't be like this. 150 years ago ? Forget about it.

And Florida - south of a line drawn W-E from Pensacola to Jacksonville. That's why the capital is in Tallahassee - because anything to the south was uninhabitable before AC.

416 It's not a trip to tout their accomplishments. It's the Shrewd Managers' Trip. She's running around, telling them...
‘How much do you owe my master?’ He said, ‘A hundred measures[a] of oil.’ He said to him, ‘Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty.’
Luke 16

She's the dishonest manager in Jesus' parable. She's losing her last sinecure, and she wants to be "received into their houses." Preferably ones without an extradition treaty.
