There is one video of him turning down Bourbon, odd thing is the cameraman was videoing that particular truck for like a block before he got to Bourbon. How did they know to focus on that truck.
And what was the plan for all the other IEDs, and were there really 4 others planting IEDs? FIB now says he acted alone, last I heard.

Bragg (now called Liberty) had lots of service members and civilians and there are lots of organizations there to include the Special Forces school and the PSYOPS command which is part of Special Operations Command.
The two terrorists were not recruited into the Army together did not train together were in different units and different specialties.

You have to submit a credit card and a photo of your drivers license. I don't think any more insurance info is collected beyond what typical rental agencies do: they offer to sell you insurance, and I believe there is a check box to state you have your own if you turn it down. But nobody (Turo, Hertz, Avis, etc.) requires you to provide your insurance member number to verify that...

I suspect most of the cars on Turo are like houses and apartments on VRBO and AirBNB: bought for rental purposes and used only or mostly for rental purposes. It's highly unlikely the cars rented on Turo are someone's daily drivers. They are cars bought specifically to rent out, or converted to rentals.

Yep. Actually I'd wager Turo vehicles are on average more for secondary use than VRBO properties. A lot of people (not most, but a lot) have primary residences but travel a lot and VRBO / airBnB the primary residence out when they're away... But they don't rent their primary vehicle. It's tough to do the Turo handover without being nearby or present, and if you have a need for a vehicle, you couldn't rent it out...

I have a cousin who has cars that are solely for Turo. And I have a neighbor who rents out his personal cars on Turo. It’s a mixed bag.
There is insurance that covers any damage and you can also require a deposit for things like cleaning barf off a seat or whatever.
People rent out luxury homes on Airbnb. Renting out a $40k car on Turo isn’t a big deal relatively speaking.
There is risk of course, there’s always some risk in any business transaction. But if you’re afraid of all risk, I guess don’t do anything.

Not sure what the OWNER'S insurance would do, as the OWNER did not intentionally destroy his car. Particularly if the insurer considers the car being used for "commercial" purposes???

The owner didn't commit any intentional act. What might be a bigger issue for the owner is whether his policy permits short-term rentals. I know some guys who rent exotic cars, and insurance is always an issue. Insurers aren't keen on their insured cars being rented out to randos.

It was known in NOLA (newspaper photos) that the bollards were being replaced and were currently not operational. This guy knew. Fortuantely for people he didn't blast down Bourbon St at midnight when the street was completely packed. Been there/done that for the packed people at age 18 and Mardi Gras. No where to go.
