14 This is basically her "brand," sort of a mild insult comedy that's raw enough to be "edgy" but tame enough for mass consumption. She had a few big standup specials a while ago. She was ok. Better than a lot of today's "comics" and at least she's shapely and attractive. So many female comics are almost deliberately designed to thwart the male gaze.

21 I watched the Jeff Ross 2024 "roast" yesterday.

It was ok. They had a Biden impersonator, who wasn't very good, but all I could think was "it's safe to do Biden now, it would have been meaningfully edgy to do that 4 years ago."

Ross is Ross, although apparently he's finishing up cancer treatment, and they made fun of him for being fat.

A few jabs here and there at various "sacred cows." I also noticed they were VERY careful about how they "roasted" Taylor Swift.

There is a different skillset between comic acting and standup, and I just think women don't really bring much to the standup medium, because all too often they're trying to be crude. It just mostly doesn't work.

Sketch shows have had plenty of skilled performers, Gilda on SNL, Cheri Oteri, and a few others from SNL. Katherine Hicks and Andrea Martin from SCTV, and Nicole Sullivan from MadTV.

I thought Nicole would be a star, but she did some voice work, which, given how super fire hot she was, I don't understand why you wouldn't put her in front of a camera, instead of a microphone.

Haven't seen her recently, I wonder if she's still hot.

Women can't do stand-up for the same reason they can't do management well. It takes self-assurance, self-security, to get up there and be funny about your failures.

And women simply don't have it.

Men are pack animals. Once we embrace it - we can laugh and joke about it. Women can not do that.

I'm convinced it's why some women, back in the day, were such excellent home-makers. They need that empty void, no distractions, to concentrate. Certainly no other women in that space.
