The Corpse King Biden Moves to Unilaterally Ban Oil Leases in Nevada With Just Days Remaining In His Fake Presidency

Carter 2.0.

The Biden administration is attempting to implement last-minute restrictions on oil and gas drilling in the west just weeks before President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

On Monday, the Department of the Interior announced plans to pursue a 20-year ban on oil and gas leases in 264,000 acres of Nevada's Ruby Mountains.

The administration submitted an application to withdraw the acreage from any potential leasing, which initiated a two-year ban on new mineral leases in the area during the approval process. The proposal now heads into a 90-day public comment period, which will fall under the Trump administration.

"The Ruby Mountains are an iconic landscape with exceptional recreation opportunities and valuable fish and wildlife habitat worth preserving for the future," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a statement. "Today's action honors the voices of Tribal communities and conservation and sportsmen's groups and marks another important step to protect a treasured landscape."

...

It is unclear whether the Trump administration will consider potential leases in the region, but such actions could face roadblocks following the Biden administration's new proposal.

We should be happy that he spent 40% of his fake presidency on vacation.

Note that he really worked hard his last year -- he was only on vacation a quarter of the time.

President Joe Biden's final year in office was marked by an increased amount of time spent away from the White House. According to a Daily Caller review of White House pool reports, Biden spent 24% of 2024 in Delaware, Camp David, or other vacation spots--amounting to 89 full or partial days away. This figure excludes foreign trips taken for official business.

After dropping out of the 2024 presidential race, Biden's time outside the office grew substantially, with 46 days spent in Delaware, Camp David, St. Croix, Nantucket, and California from August through December. Among the notable trips, he spent 21 days in August away from Washington, including 14 in Delaware and six days at a $37 million California residence owned by Joe Kiani.

The president also maintained his tradition of a Thanksgiving trip to Nantucket, staying at billionaire David Rubenstein's $34 million residence. His current trip to St. Croix, which began in December, remains ongoing, with no specified end date.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates defended the president's schedule, emphasizing Biden's ability to work "around the clock" from any location. Bates cited accomplishments during Biden's time away, such as securing international deals and addressing key issues. Bates also noted that Biden's vacation days have decreased compared to earlier years in his presidency.

Nah, he can even get the money back if it's not spent...you can freeze the spending and reprogram it back...aka, something done in regular order (that I wrote documents for when I was in the Air Force) that is very possible.

So, he declares all Biden spending down in the last month frozen and sees what's left, and then pulls it back, reprogramming it to vet health care or NC hurricane relief or wherever there's a big budget hole (b/c it does have to go somewhere in a reprogram)...

The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore has been ping-ponged back and forth by environmental nazis and preservationist nazis who were in charge of the place (but not at the same time).

"Let them revert to nature!" the eNazis declaimed and so structures over one hundred years old were allowed to fall further into ruin or were taken out during the winter months by burning them.

Then the Chief eNazi departed for other pastures to despoil and a pNazi took its place.

"We must make a concerted effort to retain and preserve significant historic structures besides just the lighthouses!" the pNazis declaimed and so they went hat-in-hand to local preservationist groups of volunteers willing to devote time to that type of work. "Please work with us!" the pNazis pleaded. "Okay!" Said the pVols, happy to be recognized as part of a cooperative private-gubmint partnership. Then they'd learn that the gubmint had scant funds for preservation.

In the meantime, what was there continued to cross over to become what was no more, nor ever would be again.

Trump won the majority of native Americans in the election, knowing full well he's all drill baby drill. I don't think those tribal communities are as against drilling as the liberal white man thinks they are... provided they can get a cut. If Trump reversed the policy, I don't think they will be all that outraged.

Eggers says that Columbus was the creative producer.

Producers come in all shapes and sizes. Most are money men. Many wish to be creative producers and have no idea what they're doing. Some are creative producers who do know what they're doing, just pushing things in the right creative direction for the project without adding anything of themselves into it.

That's apparently Columbus, especially on Nosferatu.

Hah. This holiday season, I just barely found out that had Chevy Chase been less of an ass, Columbus would have directed Christmas Vacation instead of Home Alone. He bailed after how Chase treated him, and Hughes gave him the Home Alone script instead. Some things are just meant to be.

I also think while the first Harry Potter film isn't the best, that his knowledge of how to direct kids helped launch that movie franchise properly. The kid actors were in good hands and he helped get good performances out of them.

170 Debrina Kawam, a 61-year-old resident of Toms River, New Jersey, was identified this week as the victim of a gruesome attack in which she was burned to death aboard an F train in Brooklyn on Dec. 22, police said.

Toms River Mayor Dan Rodrick expressed outrage over the crime, calling for a reinstatement of the death penalty in New York and New Jersey. “The states of New York and New Jersey need to bring back the death penalty,” Rodrick said. “We should at least be able to have the death penalty for those who are caught on video committing these heinous murders. People like that cannot be rehabilitated.”

“People convicted of such heinous crimes, caught on video like this, should be put down like a rabid animal once convicted,” Rodrick said. “Why should society pay potentially millions of dollars to keep people like this alive? There is no room in our civilized society for behavior like this.”

All depends on if Trump wants to obey Federal Judges again. He was blocked, more than once, from simply cancelling Obama EOs by various Federal Judges.

Curiously enough, he was also blocked from instituting travel bans by country of origin. Guess who did that during their Presidency ? Jimmy Friggin' Born Again Greatest Humanitarian Ever Carter. Did it during the Iran Hostage Crisis.

Isn't parking in NYc like $70 a day or something? If you can swing that, an extra $9 for congestion pricing isn't a big deal. It's not hurting commuters since commuters who drive are already paying through the bose and still do it. It will hurt businesses who have to drive there. The way Sec. 4 of the 25th (involuntary disability) works, Congress must ultimately decide the issue, and by 2/3rd vote to prevent the president from re-assuming the duties of the office.

So, VP and majority of cabinet trigger 25th. President disputes it. Congress then has so many days to decide the issue, and it requires a 2/3 vote to override the President's declaration that he is fit for office.

249 Isn't parking in NYc like $70 a day or something? If you can swing that, an extra $9 for congestion pricing isn't a big deal.

I'm not familiar with this. NYC would pay me $79 a day to park there?! No, thanks. Add some zeroes and I might consider it.

I have 43 with some sun breaks. Water is a cool 47 in the winter.

My plunge lasts about 3 seconds. Gotta go all the way under or it doesn't count!

I love watching/listening to Karoline.
Fresh face, smart and quick on her feet, always cheerful.
It will be enjoyable watching her in the press room.

It's going to drop down into the 20s in GA and 70% chance of snow on monday.

There's nothing crazier, death defying, than to drive in the south on the first day of snow in many, many years. They are so snow-stupid here. And on a monday. After people's newyears weekend benders. I'm not looking forward to it.

If some ruling says that Trump admin has to invite the legacy deep-state propaganda 'news' organs to the press briefings, he should at least have them sit in the corner behind a curtain. And they have to display their press credentials on their dunce caps.

Ha! Years ago I was in Atlanta during a "snow storm". I think it amounted to about an inch. I was sitting in a little coffee shop having breakfast watching the collision derby and laughing my ass off.

I spent 5 weeks in the Ruby Mountains in field work for my degree (Earth Sciences; a very small part of the USGS geological map is from my degree project).

They are beautiful. They are wild. They are devoid of anyone taking recreation. I saw little but sage brush and rattlesnakes, neither or which is endangered to any degree.
