The Morning Report — 12/27/24

Morning Report intro.jpg

Good morning kids. Oh give me a freaking break, already.

Remember how Democrats were outraged — Outraged! — that some Republicans objected to the counting of the Electoral College votes back in 2021 over concerns that voter fraud tipped the election results to Joe Biden in key battleground states? The very idea of disputing the election results was seen as blasphemy and anti-democratic.  Yet the left is once again pushing for Congress to block Donald Trump from taking office, despite his overwhelming victory in 2024.

Evan Davis, the former editor-in-chief of the Columbia Law Review, and David Schulte, the former editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal, argue in a joint column in The Hill that Congress not only has the power to block Trump from taking office but should.

Their column doesn’t cover much new ground. It references Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which disqualifies individuals who have engaged in insurrection from holding office, despite the fact that Trump did no such thing. Heck, he hasn’t even been charged with such an offense, and when you consider the fact that rogue left-wing prosecutors have charged him with all sorts of made-up crimes, that says something.

. . . Heck, he hasn’t even been charged with such an offense, and when you consider the fact that rogue left-wing prosecutors have charged him with all sorts of made-up crimes, that says something.

Funny how Trump and we are labeled as deniers, and a hell of a lot worse for objecting and protesting what we now know, with mountains of physical, statistical, forensic and eyewitness evidence that at the barest of bare minimums showed that the integrity and validity of the 2020 election was seriously compromised.

Despite none of this in 2000,2004 and in 2016 each of the Democrat candidates as well as their entire party went on for years insisting that they were robbed and that Dubya and Trump were illegitimate. Recall that in 2016, there were indeed violent protests at and near the White House that resulted in the firebombing and destruction of an historic church. This of course an extension of the wave of burning and looting and murdering that ravaged American cities and towns in the summer of 2020, in the wake of the George Floyd dying while resisting arrest, again as a pretext to try and derail the election.

That and unleashing a Chi-Com and Fauci created/US Taxpayer funded Franken-virus as the pretext to lock down the world and cancel or otherwise give cover to legalized election-rigging.

And as for labeling Trump and those who came to DC on 1/6/21 as insurrectionists and terrorists intent on overthrowing the government to prevent the Electoral college from certifying the results, it will go down as one of the most vicious libels that resulted in the perversion of the justice system as a means for the Democrat Left to persecute and silence all opposition.

We know what Democrats and Leftists are capable of when they are denied power. The attempts on Trump's life are just the latest example, as are the threats against individuals such as Justice Kavanaugh and the infamous Chuck Schumer's thinly veiled threat about how the Intel community has 9 ways to Sunday to get at Trump, and on and on and on for over 200 years.

Can they actually pull this off and you can likely guess the media's reaction to both a successful coup and a failed one.

We're on a knife edge as it is, but this garbage is murder. And yet, that is the state of play 248 years out from the American Revolution. A republic if we can keep it. And the jury is out on that one. Are we really going to make it to the 250th: "Semiquincentennial." Especially as even a shadow of what the American nation, society and government are supposed to resemble. As Trump himself would say, we'll just have to wait and see. As always, hope and pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.

4 Regarding the H1B kerfluffle:

There were a lot of folks on Twitter posting their own horror stories about trying to get into engineering schools or jobs but getting denied because white.

One man called up a school that rejected his son who had an excellent GPA and every other thing they were looking for. He broke out lawyer mode and wore down the admissions clerk to the point she admitted off the record "He's a white male. It's a crap shoot whether or not he gets in."

This fecal matter needs to come to an end now. We need to implement a program of no hiring foreigners unless it can be proven that there are no citizens who can do the job.

1) Democrats will try to block Trump from taking office
2) I don't believe we will see the Epstein list or the JFK files, because I expect that stuff to disappear between now and Jan 20
3) The firm of Trump, Musk, Swamy & Homan are promising/threatening to do a lot of things after Jan 20. I will be surprised if they accomplish half of it.

This is all IMO. YMMV. I've been wrong before.

Many of here have issued so-called "black-pill" warnings about what the left might/could/will do prior to Trump actually resuming the office of President. They never quit. So it's no surprise there's talk about prohibiting him from taking office, not certifying the results, and so on.

I doubt they'll be successful, but they will try.

And there will no doubt be a slate of legal challenges to every move he makes, consuming vast amounts of political time and capital. That, hopefully is being accounted for.

We are way past any sort of reconciliation and are deep into retribution. I hope Trump's aware of that. 2026 would be a good year to remind the country that we don't put up with bullshit.

As we all recall from 2020, Congress is Constitutionally required to certify Electoral College slates on a state by state basis, in order to determine the accuracy and integrity of an election.

No where does it say Congress has to overrule the election because Democrats lost bigger than the margin of fraud.

Not too difficult - Russian crews are poorly trained, badly disciplined, and trigger happy. Air defense systems have gotten too good, really - we’re at the point that some illiterate fool can push a button he doesn’t understand, and the system will precisely shoot down a moving target many miles away.

And it’s not just a Russian problem - remember that just this week the USS Gettysburg shot down one F-18 and almost shot down another, in what they’re calling battlefield confusion.

81 About the Russians shooting down that Azerbaijan airlines plane...

Reports from the area suggest there was a "drone swarm attack" ongoing somewhere along the plane's flightpath to the intended airport. It could have been mistaken, or accidently shot at, but it looks like a surface-to-air missile got really close to it. Again, perhaps accidently.

Putin didn't have anything to do with ordering it shot down. Probably.

As an aside, we recently shot down one of our own F/A-18's while it was refueling and preparing to land on a carrier.

Mistakes were made.

They kind of do.

People who are likely to gain an H1B have two (official) things going for them in the admissions process. First, they're likely to get a job out of college which makes a degree from that college more desirable. Second, they are foreign and, therefore, pay more in tuition.

The fact that give colleges another excuse to exclude white males is gravy.

Allow me to begin with an obligatory "I don't give a damn about Candice Owens. I've never watched her not read her."

As I understand it, her original statement was concern about civilians being killed in Gaza. She had an issue with Israel (in particular), not Jews (in general). Now, you can argue that her stated position is foolish, or unreasonable, or whatever... but what actually got said was anti-Semitic. This was, apparently, on top of Ben Shapiro being his normal whiney self about her using the phrase "Christ is King".

I suspect that, at some point, when you're continually accused of hating Jews you start to give more credence to the idea that there's a Jewish conspiracy.

Now, I only know the peripherals of this whole thing because, as I've said, I don't care about Candace Owens and so I may have some of it wrong. I'm not trying to start nothing.

This is simply a standard op from the Democrat Playbook. The fear of losing one's pension is real.

What is also real is that most people make for terrible witnesses and their "observations" and recollections are made up of reconstructions rather than true recall. There have been many research papers written on how memory is influenced by external sources. One of my favorites is where a guy who was never in a hot air balloon was given a photoshopped image of him in a hot air balloon and when asked to describe the experience all of a sudden had vivid memories of the event.

Mass Formation Psychosis is a real thing and not all that hard to trigger in any population, especially young impressionable people typical aboard a naval vessel.

Weapons and command. That's pretty much it. Ships at sea have limited news and it's censored. By the time you got back into port the whole thing would be off the front page. The people who knew would have been told to shut up and they would. Many/most of them have secret, or better, security clearances. They know how to shut up.

Years after the incident and not long before he passed away, my uncle who worked at the SAC base in Omaha told his sons and me the backstory of the KAL shoot down when Reagan was pres. Remember how the Russians had insisted they were shooting down an American reconnaissance plane - well there really was one in the vicinity, using the KAL flight as a decoy. Then he said “how do you think we had voice transcripts of the Russian fighters cockpit transmissions?”

ANTI-SEMITE!!!
Some of their owners have Jewish names you see.

I tend to think that a lot of anti-Israel views in the "christian" community comes from those who hold to the "full preterist" view on eschatology. An outgrowth of that is "replacement theology."

Both partial and full preterism are unbiblical. You have to waaay oversymbolize scripture to get there.
Replacement theology is flat out heretical. It, by extension, is calling God a promise breaking, liar.
