I defer to the expert. The Free Democrats have a history of coalitions with the conservatives, so their jumping ship makes sense. They can get credit for stopping the nightmare and make nice to the CDU/CSU, which will probably need them because the second largest party is AfD, which no one will talk to because they are too rational.

I have visited a few old houses. Pretty often they would start as a small, crude thing. When things got better, they 'd stick a room or two on one end and live in one side and make the old house a kitchen. The house would grow by accreting larger houses to the original little house.

I visited the Winchester Mystery House in CA once. The story is that the heir to Winchester money lived there and kept building her whole life for mystical reasons. I think the mystical part was a cover for the real reason.

She had tons of money and needed a hobby and to drive off people trying to sponge off her. She picked this and got to design the changes and watch the work, there were always husky men around to drive off ruffians, and she wasn't isolated from the area because she was hiring people continually.

Hi, Anna! Today I went with my friend and had a look at that VW campmobile. Pretty sad, not an original
AZ car, but has been around, and has some rust, which has been bondo'ed over, so the full extent is undetermined. And not a '78 with EFI, probably '73 or '74. Seats, soft trim, and all the plastic laminate in the camper area are shot. I figure it would take two G's just to fix the stuff you'd need to fix to make it roadworthy. To make it look pretty? Dirty bomb. They're trying to say nuke medical waste. Couple of reasons it couldn't be. There wouldn't be enough to make a credible threat. To make it enough to be a credible threat, the shielding needed to transport it safely, wouldn't be able to transport it. Once you get past a certain size, regulatory nuke groups get involved.

What could move 50 lbs of refined uranium in a shielded box? A conex trailer on a semi.

The tilt roof is off it, and leaning up against one side. Canvas is in rags. Rust in roof, in nose panel, and suspect in rear quarters. Exterior paint bad, with surface rust around window frames. Rubber gasket between engine and body is mostly gone.

Carbs are off it, but owner has them. So it might run, but would require some assembling to make it run. Nice old folks, not wealthy. She has sentimental attachment to it. It would make a nice project for a VW van enthusiast to buy and restore, provided the rust was not structural. I see no upside for a buy and flip.

I had the exact same experience with a '72 VW van. The "Type IV" engines are much more expensive to replace or rebuild than the Type I, and less reliable. Hand grenades, they are. And retrofitting a Type I is impractical.
