I have a quote with materiel BOM that will put a 15lb payload at 100,000 feet AGL using a 2 stage "P" set up. We were gonna use it to test micro satellite isr for artillery targeting in a denied air environment. Cost was $250k for two rockets, that could each do two flights.

For a female to be orange, she must have 2 X genes. If she does not she is a tortie or calico. Male cats have only one X chromosome and thus can't have black and orange.
Tabby cats can have orange in the undercoat which is called a Brown Tabby. This is detectable by looking for the color of the stripe. Brown Tabbies have black stripes, a Orange has orange.

I like cats because they generally leave me alone. Dogs are very intrusive, drool all over me, and bark.
Cats are subtle, and have a much wider range of personalities (both good and bad).
Cats do understand language, but they are tonal, not purely phonetic. You have to repeat the words in the same tone for them to understand, and it will transfer from person to person.
On weekends (when we sleep in) our older cat will pat at our bedroom door and if she doesn't get an answer, will start vocalizing, and it sounds very much like "hello? Hello?" complete with the uptalk at the end.

Cats can mimic other sounds. There's a clip of Tigers mimicing cows to lure them over to their cage. So yeah they can mimic your sound if it works for them.
My cats are not very vocal except with each other which puts the lie to the 'cat meowing is only for people' lie. Meows are baby talk to cats while adults use more complex body language to communicate with adult cats.

It varies between the breeds as well. Siamese are extremely vocal, and love to talk. I will also say it's not a mimic in this case, it's communication. The cat heard people saying it, and observed that it got a response, and she has found the same to be the case.
She also has a sort of grumble she makes in the kitchen (where we keep her food) that is like kids asking for a treat.
The younger cat (calico female) is not very bright, which pisses off the older one. She's very affectionate though.

If the white was on the chin and chest it might have just been from the tabby pattern all cats have.
White marks on cats have nothing to do with the sex gene. They are from other genes and small white spots can appear on the chest or belly called lockets or buttons. Calicos come from an interaction between the colors and the "White Spotting" gene

Before Obamacare it was possible to buy health insurance that covered a catastrophic event (like cancer) and just pay out of pocket for a checkup. Obamacare means you have to pay more to subsidize all kinds of things that don’t impact you. And of course it has led to further consolidation in the industry.
It’s a little like how Dodd Frank supposedly reformed the financial industry but really just locked in the dominant positions of the largest banks - the only ones that could afford the compliance costs.
Any kind of big federal regulation that aims to ‘solve’ a problem usually just entrenches the largest players and makes life worse for normal people.

Oh yes, ear and tail position are big indicators! Our calico cat has very interesting facial markings, almost quartered like a coat of arms, so it's hard to see her expressions, but they are usually blank, poor thing.
Our elder cat is gray, with a white tuxedo that also touches her face, so she make very vivid facial expressions and it's interesting so see when she's frowny or smiling.
I think cats are a wonderful teaching too if you want to read people. All cats are horrible liars, and picking them out is helpful in spotting it in people.

Both are natural mutations, preserved by breeders. Three of my cats are from Munchkin litters, but the ones without the favored mutated gene. If a kitten gets two of the genes it is lethal, and you have an old style Persian cat. Meanwhile what they have done to the skull of the Persian cat through their breeding is cruel. I adopted one with the super flat face. He had such bad digestion he ate twice as much as my other cats at half the size. If he didn't eat virtually every waking moment he starved, and died some months later. Sweetest cat and had no fear

Something we find kind of funny is that there is a doppelganger for both of our cats in the neighborhood - not exact, but very similar. Probably part of the local gene pool.

Cat genetics has wild variation built in so the normal genes can produce huge variances.. It takes one gene to make a Tabby Cat solid black. White spotting has a 'volume knob' somewhere that can make nearly solid to nearly white randomly. One gene can turn a cat orange instead of black. The dilute gene takes any other pattern and makes it grey. The siamese coat pattern is temperature dependent, cool areas are dark as the black coat is turned to dark brown to coffee with cream colors.

If you go uninsured one day a year you’re counted as uninsured. So if you switch jobs and go a week or even a weekend in between coverage, voila you are uninsured.
And millions of people who simply choose not to buy it. Mainly young healthy people.
Factor those cases out and the real number of people who want insurance and can’t buy it is maybe 5% of the population.

My cat spent months healing my broken bones. She spent every hour she could sleeping as close to the break as she could get and as soon as it was cured (to the day) she went back to her pre break habits. As I am north of 29 this is not a trivial matter.

Dogs are pack animals. They need a boss by their nature, and at one point they were wise enough to allow men to be their leaders. But they don't really have a choice like cats do, they are really in distress without a pack.
Cats have free choice in bonding, which I appreciate. Like people, they trade their skills for payment. And they actually are amused by us generally. They see us as equals, not a master.

The purring of cats is still somewhat mysterious, but it does seem to produce positive effects on healing. It is unquestionably calming. Now that you mention it, my elder cat used to purr a lot on me when I was stressed from work, and I'd often doze right off.

My current quartet act just like a security staff. When I get up they have 2 in front and 2 in rear, there are always cats watching the hallways leading to where I am. They often start being 'visible' in a gentle way if I am up too late.

The leftists couldn't help but give the game away, wanting to set up Death Panels and gleefully bragging about how they sent Trumpkins to premature deaths while withholding life-saving treatment.
It was a huge wakeup call for a lot of people. And now look at Canada, telling folks it would be great if they would just die. The "watchdog" actually covered up hundreds of violations, none of which were prosecuted and most resolved with a strongly worded email.

Both of the cats run patrols and will let out a signal if they've found something wrong. The younger one makes a plaintive howl, which she also does when she scores a kill (often a sock), while the older one will sometimes cackle or cry if a serious violation has happened.
The older one also tracks bugs brilliantly. I can't count how many times I realized a wasp was buzzing around because she suddenly went on point and tracked it for me.

I love both, have had both. We are currently without dogs, because it wasn't worth the expense of fencing in 20 acres, and I won't let my dogs roam.
I won't ever be without cats. Ours are very affectionate, very entertaining, and very empathetic. They can definitely tell when you're unwell, be it illness or emotional troubles.

Its just different. If you are hunting or taking the long walks dogs need because that is how dogs become an apex predator it is ideal. Herding livestock, also a huge plus. Its less useful for me who doesn't do that.
But for me, I am uneasy at that sort of slavish or intense adoration by anything, it doesn't suit me.

Yeah, that was the elephant in the room. Illegals with no insurance but who must be treated at ERs. Gotta make up that shortfall somewhere, so force people into higher premiums so hospitals can cover their costs.
I've been told point black by the billing dept. that my family is allowed longer hospital stays because of my insurance and they will also cut me a discount if I pay the co-pay as a lump sum because they get so much on the back end.
It's socialized medicine with a capitalist skin.

Russians are making some serious gains in the south, outflanking the Ukrainian defensive lines. They're moving slowly but steadily, outflanking towns rather than assaulting them.
