Utah Man News

Collin Rugg
@CollinRugg

NEW: Utah man drives his car through the front of a Mazda dealership just hours after purchasing the car from the same dealership.

The incident happened in Sandy, Utah, after the man was told he couldn’t return the car.

The man told the dealership that he would drive the car through the front door of the dealership if they didn’t let him return it.

They told him that it was sold "as-is."

The man did exactly what he promised and drove the car through the front door.

He was arrested on charges of felony criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.

Glamorous female lawmaker, 30, 'bullied male aide into sex then made him run her errands'

A glamorous Washington state lawmaker bullied a male aide into sex, then made him run her errands and tried to fire him when he reported her, a lawsuit claims.

Emily Clouse, 30, is said to have begun a 'mutually consensual dating relationship' with the unnamed man after being elected as a commissioner in Thurston County, which includes the state's capital of Olympia.

But the aide alleges he felt unable to reject Clouse's advances because of the power she held over him and says he found the romance 'increasingly unwelcome.'
The video player is currently playing an ad.

'It was clear to the Plaintiff, however, that if the Plaintiff wanted to remain employed, he would need to continue his personal intimate relationship of a sexual nature with Commissioner Clouse,' the claim alleges.

Clouse is said to have exploited the man into driving her around, buying her food and drinks and loaning her cash which he says she never repaid, the Spokane Spokesman-Review reported.

He branded her an abuser and reported her behavior to Thurston County's human resources department on July 26.

Clouse, who was sworn into her role in November 2023, tried to fire him 30 minutes later and subsequently accused the aide of sexually assaulting her.

The aide says other Thurston County officials tried to suppress his claims, allegedly asking him 'what amount of money' it would take to make his claims go away.

He was put on administrative leave, which the aide says gave him the impression of being 'guilty of wrongdoing.'

Glamorous, really?

John Mulaney has a funny bit about tabloids' determination to call every woman they write about a "beauty."

Unrelated: Dana Carvey built his Joe Biden impression from his dad's condescending way of scolding him.

22 That fatty that rammed the dealership just destroyed his entire life over a tantrum that could have been avoided by taking the car to a mechanic and paying $150 for a once over.

He has to pay for the car. He has to pay for the dealership damage. He has to pay for a lawyer to defend him. He will likely spend some time in jail. He'll lose his rights to vote and carry a gun. If he has a wife, everyone she knows will be telling her to divorce him and run. The courts will screw him in any divorce proceedings. He's fucked. That's what you get for being a man baby.

29 So I live in rural Utah and the guy driving through the dealership is a big story here.

This wasn't some fly by night used car place; it's one of the "name brands" of the area; a Mazda dealer.

But they had this car, which they advertised as a "Mechanics special." The idiot payed 4 grand for it, drove off, and literally within the hour wanted to get a full refund. He then threatened to drive through the door, and then did it.

Good thing he made the threat because the dealership actually moved people away from the door just in case.

That being said, there should be better options to return a car within a certain time frame. They give three days to change your mind on door to door sales; maybe 3 days on a car sale would be good too. 4 grand for a mechanics special to advertise to people who cannot afford a new car or a decent used car? How are they going to afford the repair bills for the mechanics special?

39 Ace, the “glamorous” description by the left wing media has a specific purpose in this case: to undermine the guy’s claims. They are running battlespace prep for the meme that “she’s too desirable to have sexually abused this douchebag.”

As I mentioned in a previous post, this is all from a lawsuit by the guy so at best maybe 10% is true. I suspect the truth was this was a voluntary toxic relationship that went bad, as such relationships almost always do.

52 Utah's Lemon Law only applies to new cars, and for it to apply the same part has to break and be repaired/replaced by the dealer 3 times within one year. If that (rare) event occurs, then you can have the dealer buy back your car.

Used car? No lemon law.

There aren't many all wheel drive sedans that are good and / or relatively affordable, right? Sure, you can get a 90 grand "luxury" sedan, but for us normal folks, is there even a decent option outside of Subaru?

I live in rural Utah like I said, so winter driving is pretty scary some days and I don't want to just park my gas efficient car in late November and leave it until March while I drive the gas guzzling SUV.

Any suggestions / recommendations? Or is the Subaru Legacy about as good as it gets?

Every OEM makes a decent AWD cute-ute. It's a profitable segment, and market discipline keeps all the players on their toes. No, they are not sedans, but they are easy to drive, get decent mileage, and used models are readily available on dealer lots as they come off of 2 or 3year leases.

A lot of people love them. They're great in the snow. Subarus do have some problems, though. They sometimes blow their head gasket. Their piston ring design can cause them to go through oil. They can have CVT transmission issues. They're pretty well known for A/C failures if you don't keep up on that maintenance.

Like I said, though. A lot of people love their Subarus. Be sure and do your research about the specific model.

Subie's AWD is legendary. Once upon a time Audi was king of the AWD sedan, but since '91, nobody does an AWD sedan as well as Subaru. Especially if you don't need the clearance of a true 4WD, and maybe you do living in mountainous snow country.

188 One of my weaknesses is that, for some inexplicable psychological reason, I never haggle over price (and have often been taken advantage of, which I acknowledge is my own fault): either I'm willing to pay the listed price, or I'm not interested.

As a relatively young man, I purchased a used car with an auto loan (paid the asking price) -- and found out the next day that the vehicle I purchased had been listed in the newspaper by the dealer for $2,000 less.

I went back and asked if I could get that price -- or would be willing to meet them halfway. Of course they said "NO!" (SUCKER).

Then I had an epiphany: I hated my job at the time, and had been thinking about quitting -- so I did. Got a call from the dealer the next day saying I had to return the car because -- having quit my job, the car loan fell through.

Oops! Whoopsie!

My wife (who I will less than charitably describe as a wacko libertarian) often has blue or purple highlights of some sort.

Same for most piercings (if done in moderation). Except that damn septum bull ring booger hanger, which is really unattractive.

I'd say the same for tats, except the kids always seem determined to be covered in ugly jailhouse monstrosities.

261 I had a Subaru Forrester. It handled great, could laugh at slippery roads, and six inches of snow just got ignored. Loved that car. But the boy spawn outgrew it so we got a Chrysler Pacifica AWD.

It was bigger. The handling wasn't as sweet and I hated the color. Ya get what ya get when it's used.

Hubbymayhem started driving the Subaru and the Chrysler was "the family car".

Pappymayhem had an incident at his cousin's burial. Not a service really just fam standing around watching as someone buried a box of ashes at the cemetery. Pappymayhem had been feeling kinda rough and almost passed out. I was dealing with that and someone called Hubbymayhem. He got the kids in the car and headed for the cemetery to help me handle the grumpy Pappymayhem. Turned off one highway onto another, hit some loose gravel and Hubbymayhem and the kids went rolling down a steep bank. None of them were injured! And when the wrecker unloaded the Subaru in the wrong place, Hubbymayhem got in, fired the bitch up and drove it to a better location!
Subaru is quality.

Still, I'm not wanting to pay new prices for one. So that doesn't affect me much.

I had an Audi once, a A6. Man, that was an expensive car to drive. Timing chain broke and my local mechanic had to buy a new tool to change it.

Then it threw a rod while I was driving on the interstate a few months later. Astonishingly, it started up again after that for a minute to drive onto the tow truck... but that was the end of the car; I couldn't afford a whole new engine. And it only took premium gas; which is a huge expense.

316 128 So question for the Horde mind: i've actually been thinking about buying a Subaru Legacy. 1) it looks normal, not like the standard Subaru. 2) it's all wheel drive in a sedan.

So, I'm not a lefty or a same s*x attracted person; just a guy who loved his first Subaru, a WRX;

I'm on number 5 now; 2025 Subaru Legacy sport; great all wheel drive option; has the more powerful engine; fairly quick. All my Subarus over that last 12 years have been reliable; even the tetchy sporty ones. With their reliability, for the money, they are really good cars. I'd love to roar around in an Audi but with my income/debt level, will never happen. My advice, get the Legacy.
