The House of Representatives is voting on another $3 billion to reimburse telephone network carriers with equipment from Chinese companies Huawei and ZTE that turned out, much to everyone's surprise, to have been made in China. (Tom's Hardware)

This is on top of the $2 billion already allocated to replacing the shockingly Chinese devices.
Chinese hackers have meanwhile reportedly hacked "all phone companies everywhere" according to the FBI and CISA. (Politico)

The trove of data included in the latest, wide-ranging attacks include FISA court applications which are allegedly secret.

Though pretty much everyone is worth more than Intel at the moment. Nvidia and AMD, yes, but also Qualcomm and Broadcom and Texas Instruments and now Marvell.

Intel has a lot of revenue but investors are not seeing a lot of upside.

22 Well, here I am in the early morning with the other dear early risers and insomniacs .😊 I have two prayer requests, one of which I shared before.
My son, K, starts his new job today. It's a six month assignment but may be extended. He came to church yesterday and we prayed for him.. if you are a praying type, I'd appreciate your prayers. He's supposed to go tothe home of the young adult pastor of the evangelical church nearby which he's been attending and he likes the leader and members so that's a blessing. Thanks!

The home nurse and aide for the "retired" elderly organist is in the hospital with GI bleeding and her EKGs have been showing abnormalities . She is a lovely person and we've become friends since my home visits ,or when she comes to church with our former organist. Her name is "E". Thanks so much!

Imagine it. 64 Once a box is installed and starts carrying traffic it's very difficult to replace with a different box. Not impossible buy lots of time and money that can be spent elsewhere.

I think the Fed incentivizing the replacements is a good idea. Just make sure the money isn't squandered in the usual management churn.

There should be some Federal level task force pushing this but I'm sure the Chinese agents in DC will do their best to scuttle it.

Maybe a Data Free National Holiday where everything is shut down like it would be during an actual and eventual attack would get peoples attention.

Most folks take our data infrastructure for granted and don't know/care how fragile and pervasive it is.

The Constitution trumps any statutes or enforcement of same. The power of pardon granted to the President (Article Two, Section 2, Clause 1) has been held by the Courts to be very wide. The only thing explicitly excepted from a Presidential Pardon is cases of Impeachment.
