Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Corrupt Gangster Moll "Super-Mayor" Kicked Off Ballot for ReelectionThe citizens of Thornton, Illinois had enough of this hoodrat using their money to buy herself extravagant gifts and vacations, and then using more of their money to bribe people not to blow the whistle on the self-declared "Super-Mayor," so they organized a caucus to determine the candidates for the town council and voted her off the ballot. Unfortunately, somehow this self-styled "gangsta" holds not one but two top positions, one in Thornton and another in nearby Dolton, and she's only off the Thornton ballot.Given that Thornton is mostly black, at least the ghetto Super-Mayor won't be able to play the race card. Or will it? "This is prime example of puppet masters trying to control the narrative," she said. In an interview before Tuesday’s unusual caucus, Henyard cried foul saying her supporters were stuck outside while backers of the committeeman, Napoleon Harris, gathered inside. Harris is also a state senator who selected himself to run for township supervisor at the top of the democratic ticket. They canceled the primary and reverted to the alternative form of choosing the Democrat nominee, a caucus. It's unusual -- but it's perfectly legal. In a Dolton town council meeting, the "Super-Mayor" showed up a half hour late with no apology or explanation. Citizens then told her that they were counting down the days until they booted her out of that office as well. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Stuff like this happens in NJ and it's perfectly legal (but should it be?)
Town officials like municipal judge and prosecutor can be appointed in multiple towns, there isn't really a limit except how many places they can be in at once. Each down pays different, but if they stitch enough together they can easily make 6 figures. One infamous example was a town judge down the shore who was making over 200k, more than ackshual full-time Superior Court judges. He got indicted and thrown off the bench because he was fixing tickets for his buddies, surprise surprise. And these folks can even maintain private practices and rake in more money. It used to be worse: people would retire from the County Prosecutor's office, drawing a pension form there, then get vested again by getting appointed as part-time municipal prosecutor in Podunk, NJ and end up getting 2 pensions, all funded by suckers like me. Chris Christie, before he got horrible, ackshually put a stop to the double pension dipping. Of course, much lamentation was had. People get too hung up on the corruption on the national level, the rot in this society extends all the way down to your local dogchatcher. Background info = The Thornton Township comprises an area of 17 villages, of which Dalton Village is one.
As township supervisor, Tiffany kept having her township social events in Dalton, as none of the other villages wanted her mess in their immediate vicinity. As the Mayor of Dalton, Tiffany could secure the necessary permits / security / sanitation, etc. for the township's events from her village AND waive any pesky requirements for liability insurance from her vendors. This story has been a rollicking wreck for over a year and it's reaching it's climax. Posted by: Count de Monet at December 05, 2024 03:46 PM (Aqu9a) 57

Not all sub-sea earthquakes will generate a tsunami. If the seabed is thrown up, or thrown down, you will likely get one. If it's just a lateral slide, like much of the movement in Cali and offshore, there will be no great volume of water displaced.

Posted by: Build your own damn stadium!!! at December 05, 2024 03:54 PM (lNr8Q) then what is it ? are demographics @132 correct ? or is it a different little town ? Since leaving IL, I forgot how many gov't layers IL has created. The town of Thornton (that I meant) is less than 3k people and roughly mirrors US demographics. The township of Thornton includes many cities, is a regional sub-county kind of thing, and does have a high black population. ..."Unfortunately, somehow this self-styled "gangsta" holds not one but two top positions, one in Thornton and another in nearby Dolton, and she's only off the Thornton ballot."...
Aaah... Hell-Annoy! The Land I fled for greener pastures (IN)! In the Eastern portion of the US, way back in the day, for land surveying purposes, Territories and States were subdivided into Counties and Counties into Townships. Most of these Townships still exist in many states (in name only), but being the Land of Grift and Politics that it is, IL decided at some point that the Townships would function as an added layer of Government Control, Corruption and Excess. So, if you live there, you have an extra layer of government between the City/Town/Village level and the County level to steal your money and screw with you! Isn't that great? This crook decided to double dip her beak by getting "elected" at 2 levels of Government at once! Sorry if this is confusing to most Americans. Illinois is just extra special when it comes to finding new and unique ways to screw the taxpayers! THE MORE YOU KNOW!... Posted by: Mr. Right at December 05, 2024 10:27 PM (s3gLo) 225

"The citizens of Thornton, Illinois had enough of this hoodrat ..., so they organized a caucus to determine the candidates for the town council and voted her off the ballot." Thornton is not a town. It is a Township. The Land Ordinance of 1785 created a system of surveying the land between the Ohio River, the Mississippi River, the southern boundary of Pennsylvania extended west and the boundary with Canada into 6-mile square districts called Townships. These became public lands owned by the Federal government. A form of government was defined for them and provisions for selling the land were defined. They were divided up into 36 one square mile parcels. Four of those were reserved for future use of the Fed. Gov't, one was reserved to be sold off for the support of a public school, and the rest to be sold to settlers (with especial attention to Revolutionary War veterans). Here in Illinois they have been mostly superseded by actual towns/villages/cities that have incorporated the land. However, in some areas they still perform some functions (roads and senior citizen services, mostly). Posted by: RonF at December 06, 2024 06:38 PM (l8nW6) 226

If you live in one of the States where the land was affected by this you will find that most of your major streets run along boundaries of the 1-square-mile plats in your township. She is also Mayor of Dolton, a village in that Township. She's still slated for re-election as Mayor; we'll see how that goes. The election will be in April. Illinois separated its municipal elections from the regular biennial Federal/State/County elections years ago. Posted by: RonF at December 06, 2024 06:43 PM (l8nW6) 227
"Rod Blagojevich is out doing interviews, and I wonder if he is doing "consulting" work since he used to be tops in the Ill Machine and seems the sort to carry a grudge."
He was never tops in the Ill. machine. He was an actual power broker's son-in-law and was a useful idiot. At some point he bought into the illusion that he was in fact tops in the machine. That pissed off his father-in-law who then withdrew his support. He was impeached and removed from office soon thereafter.
