Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Hunter Biden Pardon Has Stripped Bare the Democrats' Years-Long Preening About How They're the Party That "Respects the Rule of Law"Scott Jennings: This drains every ounce of credibility from Biden's media surrogates.
The Free Beacon: This fat nobody continues humiliating herself for her CNN paycheck. Meanwhile, the rest of the media continues humiliating itself. Whoopie Goldberg forbade a fellow View panelist from saying Biden "lied" about the pardon, insisting he had told the truth when he repeatedly vowed that he held the justice system sacred and would never pardon Hunter. He just changed his mind, Whoopie insisted. Well, for one thing, it's still a broken promise. For another thing, he's clearly lying. The explanation he gave for Hunter's pardon tracked exactly with the claims Hunter's lawyer Abbie Lowell has been making for a year -- that the unprecedented plea deal rejected by a judge for containing a secret absolution for all crimes Hunter committed, not just those he was being charged for, was a perfectly routine and reasonable one and should be "honored," and was only repudiated because "partisans" got to the judge and pressured DOJ officials. Biden heard this argument a thousand times before he pardoned Hunter. There is no new information or new argumentation here. He didn't change his mind -- he was just lying, to establish that only venal criminals like Trump believe that the DOJ is ever biased or criminal in its operations. Nate Silver pretends to be shocked and stunned at the actions of the corrupt Joe Biden and corrupt Democrat Party. Paid Democrat Twinkfluencer Harry Sisson has never been prouder of A Father's Love: Well, you'll be happy to know that Biden is plotting more and more pardons, including of his influence-peddling brother, his "business" associates, and Alejandro Mayorkas, who serially lied to Congress. A Brother's Love. A "Business" Partner's Love. A Commander-in-Chief's Love. Miranda Divine says that all conservatives knew Joe Biden was lying and would pardon Hunter -- why didn't the self-appointed "fact" checkers and assorted Experts of the media know? We always knew Joe Biden would pardon his troubled son Hunter, no matter how many times he promised he wouldn't. So it is fitting that one of the final acts of this mendacious president before leaving office was to break yet another promise to the American people. Thus on Sunday night, the president issued a statement from the White House declaring that he had just signed a "Full and Unconditional Pardon" for Robert Hunter Biden, 54. Joe claims that Hunter was "selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently ... singled out only because he is my son." In an amusing twist, the president explained away all his lies to the American people by lying about his lying: "For my entire career I have followed a simple principle: just tell the American people the truth." ... Hours after Joe and Hunter dined at a Nantucket restaurant named, appropriately enough, the Brotherhood of Thieves, the Washington Post published excerpts Saturday from a document written by the first son's lawyers that made the emotional case for his pardon. Since his father was the only person on the planet with the power to pardon Hunter, at least until his presidency ends on Jan. 20, the 52-page paper would seem to have been written for an audience of one -- the Oval Office guy vacationing with his family on Nantucket. But why would Hunter and his lawyers feel the need to leak the heartstrings-tugging document when he was right there with his dad every day, hanging out in the borrowed mansion of private equity billionaire David Rubenstein, poking around in bookstores buying anti-Israeli books and watching the town Christmas tree lighting? Clearly the document was a carefully crafted excuse created to help Joe fool the American people into believing that Hunter was a victim of political persecution, who suffered due to his father's power and influence. If you read the excerpts of his lawyers' mournful missive, titled "The political prosecutions of Hunter Biden," you would see echoes in Joe's Sunday night statement. You would see that they hold grave fears for Hunter's future now that the dreaded Donald Trump is taking power. "With the election now decided, the threat against Hunter is real," the lawyers wrote. "There is no disputing that Trump has said his enemies list includes Hunter ... The prospect that Trump will turn his vengeance on the Special Counsel prosecutors if they fail to take a harder line against Hunter no doubt exerts considerable pressure on them." Hunter's pricey lead lawyer, Abbe Lowell, described the opus in dramatic terms as "the complete and reprehensible history of the political persecution of Hunter Biden ... a seven-year saga propelled by an unrelenting political desire to use a son to hurt his father." It is "a wild and terrifying story ... a stark warning of what is to come as some of the same Republicans who targeted Hunter prepare to resume power and have stated their intention to use the government's vast power to pursue their perceived enemies." His thesis is laughable. Hunter knowingly committed the crimes for which he has been pardoned and he did so in the arrogant belief that his father's power made him untouchable. How right he was.As I said, Abbie Lowell has pressed these arguments to Biden and the DOJ and every judge in the Hunter Biden case for years now. But we're supposed to believe this is the first time Joe Biden heard them? And that his mind was suddenly changed by them? Latrine Jean-Pissoir now admits that that the DOJ is politicized -- against the Bidens only. Below, Scott Jennings says that NBC "News" is reporting that Biden's advisors always "kept open" the possibility of a post-election pardon even as Biden was sent out to publicly deny that anything like that was even possible. I can't find the article he's referencing -- it could just be Google, as usual, hiding results that hurt their beloved Marxist cause. If you know which article he's referencing, please let me know in the comments.

My thoughts.
- I am a bit confused why this is such a big story. It was expected, no? - I think the big news is that Trump must have refused a request Biden must have made. I suspect Biden offered some quid pro quo, and Trump told him to pound salt. - I really hate the appeals to family compassion - "as a father, I can relate and understand the pardon." bullshit. As a father, I would have wanted the kid in prison where he could not destroy himself on the hope that he would reform. - Why all the talk about the pardon with nary a mention that this does not preclude an investigation--in fact, the pardon demands and investigation so the public can understand what he was pardoned for! -That last point goes back to the first. With a blanket pardon, there is *more* incentive to investigate and catalog all the crimes. If he had just pardoned the crimes being prosecuted, or even made a deal for a trivial sentence it would have been better for him assuming Trump didn't set the dogs on him in Jan. I imagine Biden and Trump understood this, so I have to ask why is the press not screaming for an investigation? Posted by: Gentlemen, time for a reckoning at December 03, 2024 03:48 PM (MYl6U) 58

Additionally, Williams provided false statements about fraudulent charges on his government-issued credit card, falsely claiming they were case-related expenses, and even pawned legitimate FBI-purchased property for cash. Cupp did address the pardon in a Monday morning X post, blaming the move on Trump.
_______________ First, let me just say Cupp is a DC. And no, it's nothing to do with the District of Columbia. In a Sunday statement, the octogenarian said he did so because Hunter Biden was "selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted." Biden must have balls the size of coconuts to say that about Hunter. David Harsanyi nails it
-------------- In May, when the lawfare against Trump was heating up, Joe Biden claimed that no one is “above the law.” This is not true. James Clapper, who lied under oath to Congress about spying on the public, is above the law. FBI agents who abused their power and conspired against the duly elected president are above the law. Generals who make secret calls to our enemies to circumvent the president are above the law. John Brennan, who lied about Hunter Biden’s laptop and a spying operation on Senate staffers, is above the law. Obama’s former Attorney General Eric Holder, unlike Trump appointees, was never going to be handcuffed or thrown into prison for ignoring a congressional subpoena. He is above the law. As were Black Lives Matter rioters whom Vice President Kamala Harris helped bail out of prison. And the Biden family is definitely above the law. If Biden pardons treason, go after every last person involved. Take down HIAS, Catholic Charities, fuckhead employers, and sanctuary state/city officials. Destroy them. And go after the "pardoned" civilly and take every last penny they have. Drag their families to court as accomplices, ruin their friends. Hunter has contempt for everything and everybody. Stiffing his landlord for $300,000 rent is just another way of spitting in the face of someone unlucky enough to be in his orbit. I would say he hates his dad the most (with good cause) and that is why he continues down this road of very public, very outrageous behavior. Snorting coke on the White House balcony for the world to see is just another example.

Hunter would never have been prosecuted if Joe wasn't President. We own Joe an apology for giving up on him. Once again, voters not turning out to support a Democrat for President have given us Trump. It's a damned shame!
I'm sure he would have liked to honor his initial commitment to not pardon, but the selection of Kash Patel was the last straw. With an evil person like that, Biden had no choice. Rethugs were planning, and may still be planning, to reopen the whole Burisma thing. I personally think they want to nail Hunter for Treason and that they would subpoena Joe to testify before Congress to defend any involvement they insist he had. Congress will subpoena Hunter Biden to hearings, and he no longer has criminal liability so he cannot (legally) refuse to answer. If he refuses he will be held in contempt of congress and AG Bondi will prosecute. Any objection to a contempt of congress prosecution by Democrats will be blunted as President Biden's DOJ prosecuted Bannon for the same thing. Biden really did screw up in pardoning Hunter. He should have done it the moment the verdict was handed down instead. Posted by: Intercepted DU Transmissions brought by the Intrepid AoS Liaison at December 03, 2024 04:08 PM (JCZqz) 154

'All managers are waiting on salary….I was going to have it for 1500 today.'
Merry Fucking Christmas. Posted by: Pudinhead Let me help you - managers were given a budget and told they had to differentiate between employees. If you rated an employee average, you cannot give that employee the same 2.5% as your super star. 10 managers did this. 5 managers did not, blew their budget because everyone in their group is a rockstar (they aren’t) and expected the money to be found. This was kicked back and the managers were told you fix it, or I will. Their managers are looking at it, moving things around, submitting then saying “just kidding! I forgot about this situation from last January, will you undo it and send it back?” Then the entire roll up goes to the headest of honchos who sits with their HR Buddy and wonders why he is paying them so much when they can’t do math. Neither the bonus roll up nor the merit roll up is within parameters. More phone calls, usually saying you can’t take from this bucket for that bucket, but if you feel strongly, I will request an exception and take it from your bonus, fix it or we will, wash rinse, repeat. This, and the coming mass pardon of likely hundreds of leftist scum, is no problem at all for the half of American voters who "voted" for Harris.
To them, lying on their side, their elected officials, their bureaucrats, everyone in the media lying also, hey, it's all just allowed in the by-any-means-necessary flow of using power. Total nothingburger. In fact, they celebrate it all, this pardoning of anything and everything, as a key part of resistance to everything Trump. It prevents him from achieving retaliatory justice. 153 Rethugs were planning, and may still be planning, to reopen the whole Burisma thing.
The potential amount had already been reduced due to Joe's debate performance and his dropping out of the POTUS race. Hopefully the pardon will end-up hitting cheap bast@rd penny-pinching Joe and his low-class wife, hard, where it will really hurt. Joe's wallet.

This pardon is wonderful news for our side.
We always knew that Hunter was going to be pardoned, but the specificity of the timeframe of the pardon now calls into question 'what exactly were the Bidens doing between 2014 and 2024?'. Why did the pardon extend to activities that may have happened last week? Joe just gave us breadcrumbs that we will have to follow. If there is any roadblock to Kash Patel heading up the FBI now, we can throw this back in their faces. We may not be able to prosecute Hunter or the Bidens anymore (you know James is getting pardoned too), but we can expose the 'Culture of Corruption' that the Dems engaged in for the last ten years. Between this and what happened to the $2 billion Kamala spent and the money laundering actions of Act Blue, the Dems will have a very uncomfortable two years of hearings. If the RINOs are smart, they will get right with Trump now or be exposed as well. Looking at you, McConnell. Posted by: Darrell Harris at December 03, 2024 04:15 PM (aH121) 188

Justice will happen after all these Bidens shuffle off the mortal coil. Jesus may have a thing or two to say about their pious Catholic faith and how they lived it out in the world. I suspect Jesus' mom is a bit irked, and I know his Dad is not pleased.
But hope springs eternal. Perhaps they will all repent and do penance and find their way back into grace. Doubtful, but with God all things are possible. Easier perhaps for God to forgive than the rest of us. Posted by: tcn in AK at December 03, 2024 04:23 PM (yKhjs) 234

227 Ace, did you see Chuck Todd speaking with Cilizza yesterday? He's outraged over the pardon, and he now says that Biden should never have run for POTUS. Hunter got Hallie addicted to crack, and Joe should have been taking care of his family, not running for office. Again, this is F CHUCK TODD saying this.

If a sitting Vice President can go to a foreign country and withhold a $1 Billion Loan guarantee until the prosecutor investigating his son is fired (having made that concrete stipulation)...and then brag about it on video with 100% confirmation of doing so. Anyone who knew about Hunter Biden knew that Joe was going to pardon him. The issue is how few LIVs knew that Joe Biden's son was his bagman, a drug addict, and a pedophile. First pull quote (whoever that it) nails it. And of course the lawlessness isn't just about the histrionically, artlessly, brazenly stupid and corrupt Biden family.
Hillary's historic crime rampage on the 7th floor at State easily dwarfs Biden's amateurish influence peddling, in every respect. Rent-a-foreign-policy shakedowns of foreign states were routine, not opportunistic, as with the Biden idiots. The Espionage Act violations - systematic, deliberate, widespread, with assessed foreign adversary exploitation (a key element in sentencing of such cases), *by a NSC member* - really have no analogue in our history. And of course there's the mass systemic lawlessness of abandoning oaths to enforce the law on anything related to immigration or sovereignty. And whats-his-name's description of the problem is good - it's system-wide, its institutional, and it's appalling. Posted by: rhomboid at December 03, 2024 04:36 PM (1m82a) 306

That Penney trial has some nuance in it. The primary witness was not necessarily reliable (having admitted lying to the police upon their arrival)...and, lying to Penney upon his arrival as well.
From what I understand, Penney reacted to the witness's story that the deceased was physically attacking people, when he was just threatening to do so. Penney, given that information reacted accordingly (and reasonably, IMO). The witness, then told the police the same story, but changed it under oath... So, the jury has to weigh all these factors in their decision, which may explain the delay. Let me help you - managers were given a budget and told they had to differentiate between employees.

Meanwhile my work is getting rid of the offices of DEI; oh wait they are only changing the name to Office of Access, Culture, and Opportunity, and for one group Collaborative Opportunities for Research Engagement. I love the "singled out" argument. It admits, "Sure, he was guilty, but everybody was doing it, so it's unfair to prosecute only him for it." It's the "I was just keeping up with traffic, why'd you pull me over?" argument. Posted by: Bacon Jeff at December 03, 2024 04:44 PM (VGRuw) 328

One guy slept with — wait for it — a whopping 32 women he worked with there. That’s not a typo — THIRTY TWO.
In addition, there was an ORGY that included at least a dozen people who worked at the VA hospital. It’s unclear if the orgy happened on VA grounds or off site. The Paolo really will miss this job. Well not the orgy stuff you Americans seem to like, but the Paolo brought so much joy to those thirty two women. But no, not at the same time. No. Never more then three at once. X demonstrates its bankruptcy by allowing the Lefturds to post the most hateful comments while it faults commenters who want Biden punished for his corruption, obvious treason and sedition. According to the government he accepted at least 25 million in bribes from foreign players. X says this is hate speech and violence. Really? It is pointing out a crime and the penalty for that is what?
