Happy Thanksgiving to all, including to the Radical Left Lunatics who have worked so hard to destroy our Country, but who have miserably failed, and will always fail, because their ideas and policies are so hopelessly bad that the great people of our Nation just gave a landslide victory to those who want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Having had close family members die around the holidays, I've learned over the years people handle it differently.

I'm ok with a quiet Thanksgiving, and I'll spend time around family on Christmas, but it's still always subdued for me. It can be interpreted as indifference by some, but it's the exact opposite.

99 Indian girl is gone for good though.

Amazingly, the State of California still has a few geographic names with "Squaw" in the title, and is purging them this month.

Some wokester decided once that "Squaw" was slang for American Indian female genitalia, and so of course should be banned.

The 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley? Down the memory hole.

Thought experiment: what if we banned all place names that included a word that has ever been used as a slang term for genitalia?

Not that they are full of themselves or anything:

The California Advisory Committee on Geographic Names formally approved the effort to remove the word "squaw" from state place names on Friday in what the agency described in a statement as "a monumental step towards addressing historic injustices and honoring California’s Native American communities" and " a significant milestone for Native American women."

By that they mean they won’t obscure or leave blank the old logo in promotional materials and merchandise, etc.

For example, listing the Redskins as a Super Bowl winner won’t leave the logo out but can now show the original.

I think this also means they’ll be able to use the logo when they do Throwback games with old jerseys and helmets.

Just looked him up... he spent 12 freakin' years as a First Lieutenant! And apparently they would flip back and forth between his regular army rank, and the other versions of the army, where he would have a higher rank, and then they'd later lower it when he was back in the regular army.

Has the headquarters building of the 101st named after him at Ft. Campbell. Now, who was Ft. Campbell named after? Basically a military nobody who also happened to be governor for a while.

So he takes Uber to the rental place a hour ago, only to find it closed -- then he looks at his reservation and sees that he make it for TOMORROW, not today, without even realizing it. Again he doesn't inform anyone of this, and we're already waiting for him to pick us up at various locations. So he spends the next hour trying to find another rental car place, only to discover that they're ALL closed on Thanksgiving. Still doesn't tell anyone, and the day is slipping by. Then he finds out he can rent a car at the airport -- even though the airport is 40 minutes away in the opposite direction from where we're all going. But he can't get through on the phone to the airport rent-a-car.

Meanwhile, everyone he was supposed to pick up are cooling their heels and starting to freak out, but he won't respond to messages. FINALLY, right about when it's absolutely too late to even get there in time even IF he had a car, he replies to my message, and starts tio explain all this, in slow motion. By the time he's done explaining, it's too late

Anyway they got a National Geographic Magazines collection donated to them. It created a huge library. It mostly filled the library so one of the cons offered to take them once he was out. I think it must be very hard to have family who are vociferously and and angrily leftist. 253 Still 1/2 hour until I need to start cooking out here on the Left Coast...

Just me and the Son... so... Rib Roast, Mashed spuds, Green Bean Casserole... rolls...

And wine... lots of wine...

254 A buddy and I had Thanksgiving feast at a restaurant buffet. To our surprise, somebody anonymously paid for our meal! Thanks, stranger! God bless you.

255 I think it must be very hard to have family who are vociferously and and angrily leftist.
------

My Lefty kin are not vociferous, but their liberalism is passively evident in almost everything that they say or do. It's a sort of aura.

And how do you deal with that?. When my one liberal friend brings up things, ( I don't think he was so much appalled by Trump but he was worried by his cabinet choices and doesn't like Musk) I just responded "Well, we"ll see how it goes" because I didn't see any point in asking why he's so upset about Musk.

258 Lemme ask. Why does politics come up at all at a family dinner? You'd think for a few hours people could keep their yaps shut over something that's likely to be contentious. So why start? Can't anyone just enjoy the company instead of haranging an audience?

259 Politics and religion were always discussed in polite companies. It is just that people are no longer able to discuss politics and religion politely, without juvenile tantrums.

260 I was told in a text today from my one and only Dem friend of 50 yrs that "she was giving thanks I'm still in her life all these years later." I was please and flabbergasted considering earlier in the year she call me a conspiracist. My reply was "well, I love the US Constitution." Not a another word was spoken that evening.

That is my approach also. Very passive...but I make a mental note of their inclinations. It would be impossible to not do so.

263 Funny how it never occurred to Sharon Stone that the lowly Americans she despises travel all over the world in the US military, and see more reality than mere tourists do.

But let them eat cake Sharon.
