The Morning Report — 11/28/24

VindTurk.jpg

Good morning kids, and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you all! It's one thing to mindlessly shriek at Lake Michigan because someone you've been brainwashed into believing is literally Hitler won the closest thing to a landslide presidential election which perhaps is an utter rejection of the shriekers' warped worldview.

Sure we can laugh at these crackpots but remember, anyone of them could just as easily been yet another potential latter day Squeaky Fromme or John Hinkley along with the two or three that mercifully tried and failed to take Trump out prior to the election. While sadly, it is not a stretch to expect perhaps another attempt in the next four years. But since political violence, as a legitimate means to obtain, expand and maintain political power has always been the purview of the Democrat Left, nigh on 200+ years, the field of potential targets expands way beyond merely President-elect Trump.

Many of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet picks had their lives threatened Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

Fox News first reported almost a dozen of Trump’s cabinet picks and appointees were threatened.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and Administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them,” said incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a press release from the Trump-Vance transition team

“These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting.’ In response, law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action,” she added.

“President Trump and the Transition are focused on doing the work of uniting our nation by ensuring a safe and prosperous future. With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us,” she concluded.

I suppose when old-fashioned smear tactics, lies and kangaroo courts won't work, (vis a vis Gaetz, Hegseth and Trump himself) the notion of having to dodge bullets or perhaps putting out the flames on the backs of your spouse and kids might dampen one's enthusiasm to be a part of the MAGA cabinet. Remember, it's not just about unhinged loons convinced that denying them the absolute human right!!! to kill unborn children, or surgically and/or chemically castrate them, or teach them that the greatest nation and society in human history is evil and illegitimate. It's about those in power who have pimped this insanity and every other Leftist scam/scheme to get to the top of the heap and have no intention of relinquishing any of it.

"Pour encourager les autres" as they say in French. Tom Homan, Trump's pick to head DHS and who will spearhead, please God an Operation Wetback to end all Operation Wetbacks had this to say:

‘If You Want Something, Come Get Some’: Tom Homan

Bravo. Bravissimo. Remember, that a number of blue shithole cities and states have stated openly their intention to commit insurrection by openly defying Federal law enforcement if not openly encouraging violent confrontation between local law enforcement and federal agents.

Remember that the Swamp is ugly, dark and deep, and extends way beyond DC to state capitals and city halls all over these virtually disunited states of America.

On the flip side of that, this item gave me a reaction not unlike an adolescent Sefton riding the bus to school with the loose-leaf pressed down in my lap.

Elon Musk: Alexander Vindman ‘Committed Treason,’ Will ‘Pay the Appropriate Penalty’

Now do John Brennan, and all the other spooks, ham 'n eggers and others who fabricated the cases against Trump and covered up for Biden. Add Pelosi and Capitol cop Michael Byrd along who both are culpable in he execution-style slaying of Ashli Babbitt, with all those who stomped Roseanne Boyland to death on 1/6/21.

Somehow, I can't imagine the Swamp being satisfied to just march over to Chesapeake Bay and just scream at the water.

Meanwhile in the middle east, it looks as if Bibi Netanyahu has been strong-armed into accepting some sort of ceasefire with Hezbollah up in Lebanon. Which of course sends all the wrong messages to all the wrong "people."

Hamas, the Iran-backed terrorist organization that started the ongoing war in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, and still holds 101 Israeli hostages, said Wednesday that it also wants a ceasefire, as a deal in Lebanon took effect. Israel and Hezbollah, the Iran-backed terror group in Lebanon that started firing at Israel on October 8 in solidarity with Hamas, reached a deal that took effect Wednesday morning. Once, Hezbollah vowed that it would not sign any ceasefire deal with Israel unless the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) left Gaza. But Hezbollah, suffering losses after the IDF stepped up the battle in September, decided to sign a separate deal, leaving Hamas to face the IDF without help.

Wow. Bibi can't go just two months until sanity in the form of Donald Trump is back in the White House. The malign influence of the Israeli Left in the Knesset notwithstanding.

And, something that I never learned in school, but only by listening to the late Rush Limbaugh of blessed memory. The True meaning and history of the Thanksgiving holiday. Socialism/Collectivism kills.

Well my dear friends, in wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving, I give thanks for your continued prayers for my health, as well as your continued support and comradeship.

“Would you rather sit in traffic than sit through another DEI meeting?” one billboard asked drivers in Dallas, Texas. Another billboard has appeared in Nashville, Tennessee.

I'd rather sit in traffic any day of the week, even in Houston in July with no AC. At least I can listen to my music instead of some rabble-rouser telling me what a son of a bitch I am.

80 Pookette plays bells in the school band, and their teacher (who goes to our church and helps out with the band) has a rule: If you look back at the percussion section and not at the conductor, the percussionists get to pick one person to use their mallets on your head. Pookette's Future Boyfriend is not in band, otherwise I have the feeling he'd be a repeat offender.

Freezing cold, but hey it is what it is! Just me and the Mrs. today so we will have only some turkey and mashed potatoes and gravy.

84 An October report from House Republicans investigating the Jan. 6 Committee found Hutchinson was communicating directly with Jan. 6 Select Committee Vice-Chair Liz Cheney without Passantino’s knowledge while he was representing her. This report also notes how “the Subcommittee obtained messages between” television commentator Alyssa Farah Griffin and Hutchinson “where Hutchinson admits that Passantino was acting in her best interest and that she agreed with his counsel.”

So Liz and Hutchinson were cooking up backchannel lies to be told while in the formal committee. Good way for Liz to lose her law license.

A few months before, we were standing in the checkout line at Kroger and we flipped through an Old Farmer's Almanac. The weather predicted for the week of the show was rain. We laughed.

On the Monday of the show, it started raining and didn't stop until Friday afternoon.

Problem is The Junta was handing out 'advance parole' to people who would never qualify for my visa if the norms were applied, even flying direct into the heartlnd. That makes it somewhat more morally complicated if we were to return them out the back of a C-130... At least the first couple loads*. After that people brought in under that program would be fighting to get over the Mexican border even if it isn't they way they came in.

149 “Fixing elections” is difficult because that is an issue for state law, and must be approached on a state by state basis. Georgia do a good job cleaning things up this last cycle; Scott Pressler in Pa did an excellent job; and previously DeSantis in Florida and Paxton in Texas have done good work. But it’s going to take an effort like this in each individual state.

Now what Trump can do is launch a series of investigations; but the FBI and DOJ will have to cleaned out and remade before that can happen.

A couple months ago I stumbled onto this epic rant about the almanac from some meteorologist (weatherman) at a bumfuck KY TV station. His post was under his personal Facebook page, IIRC. I mean he just savaged it. Had graphs and 'everything' to back up his claims the Farmer's Almanac is nothing but pure horseshit.

The replies to his rant were interesting. A near 50/50 split between those who agreed with him and those who didn't. I don't think he suffered any professional backlash either... which in this day and age is interesting. But his employer may have agreed with his assessment too.

167 It should be. Considering the old wisdom that the party in power loses House seats, they have to make sure there's less cheating. Because you know darn sure, that if Trump's successful in getting things done, the GOPe will have members retire just before the election to throw the House back into the Ds hands. Once that happens, endless impeachment circus again.

We don't know what will happen because we're in uncharted territory. A president hasn't regained office in more than a century, so there's no way of knowing what the midterms will be like.

it is entirely possible that election reform and the Dems' bizarre insistance on protecting rapists and murderers from deportation will further build a preference cascade among minorities to the new GOP coalition.

Trump is also making noises about not giving traditional media the same access and continuing to focus on podcasts, so the old impeachment mania just won't work this time 'round.

176 By the way, the reason Trump and his people are telegraphing what they are doing is to fill the public space with popular policies. This isn't a military operation; the public needs to be prepped for what to expect in order to undercut media narratives.

Trump is also a master of misdirection, brushpack pitches and so on. Putting out broad statements often panics people, or forces them into saying really stupid things, even fleeing into exile. One of the fruits of this will be federal employees choosing to retire rather than stick around and try to undermine Trump.

No point worrying about it. Trump's not even in office yet.

But let's look at it another way: What if the left actually ran clean elections this time 'round. What would there be to investigate? Nothing.

But they didn't, they ran transparently dirt ones, and there's bipartisan concern about elections. This is the perfect time to look into it, and appoint special prosecutors to conduct actual audits. This couldn't happen before because public sentiment was not yet there. Now it is. The judiciary was also too deferential, but we've seen that change as well.

It is now a pressing issue with the public and Dem election officials no longer have an obedient Twitter to ban envidence of their crimes.

In a lot of ways, I consider Carter a preview of the Obama wing of the DNC. He really was a Globalist - as much as he could get away with it during the Cold War and the 70s. So much of his policy was aimed at reducing the stature and influence of the United States.

I was a single digit kid - and even I knew enough to understand that his idea of unilateral disarmament was absolutely insane. Yet he floated the notion.

224 In evaluating presidents, I think it important to base one's judgement on both the immediate consequences (their term) and the downstream consequences. Buchanan gets #1 because his term was disastrous in real time, arguably the worst possible result: actual dissolution of the Union on his watch.

Biden takes #2 for the same reason: they guy managed to completely dismantle the US economy and strategic position in 3 short years, inheriting a world at peace and leaving it at war. Trump had almost ompletely resolved the Palestinian problem and Biden instigated two wars there, fanned a third in Yemen, and kicked off a fourth in Ukraine.

That's tough to top.

From day one I don't think *biden was "president." He was mentally diminished and it only got worse. He was drugged almost 24X7 and incapable of making conscious decisions.

His handlers however are a totally different story. Those are the really evil, vile people that will probably never be truly known.

Now, if Dr. Jill was to write a tell all book about that...

232 How did they succeed with black people? Trump made huge gainzz with black men in particular. He's likely to expand that as support for his policies are normalized.

White women shifted right as well. Don't believe the media and its paid race-baiting shills. People of all races are sick of the division

-

Racial silliness had all but vanished in the US in the 90s outside of pockets of ignorance in big cities and very rural hideouts. Now we're having to actively attempt to codify into law that anti-white material isn't taught in school alongside p3do stuff.

Trump's win is pretty easy overall. It's encouraging, but I doubt it's a big social movement towards loving kindness. Black people, same as women, want to be able to buy food.

Ask either if they're willing to give up academic, hiring, etc advantages for themselves and their children and the vast majority will almost certainly say no. .

Trump's revitalization of manufacturing will spur stronger familiy formation among everyone. The collapse of the HR Dictatorship with create greater workplace harmony.

A lot of the racism is either imagined to sustain narratives or pushed on students to keep them riled up. That will disappear rather quickly when the subsidies needed to sustain it vanish.

Obama wasted much goodwill. He was voted in to make race relation better and actually promote the growth of the nation. He flubbed with the over the top response to financial crisis. He could have watched and waited but instead decided to create new rules out of thin air on hundreds of years of legal and financial rules.
The GM shareholder were always second class to the bond holders. He turned that upside down.

249 I was curious as to what Islam gets wrong about Christianity, but the link leads to a paywall.

I'm sure Islam gets a lot wrong about Christianity because it is a Christian heresy, and heresies are by definition wrong.

I still think it is remarkable that so much attention is paid to the "life of Mohammed" when there is zero contemporary evidence of him. This isn't a new observation, either, it goes back hundreds of years.

Next time someone trots out the old "Prove Christ existed," counter with "Prove Mohammed did."

I grew up in an old farmhouse in VT. Parts of it were around in George Washington's day. Lots of old stories, old things, etc.

One story passed down was a frandmother or great grandmother of mine was sitting in the living room (probably close to 100 yrs ago now) and a ball of lightning came crashing down the chimney, rolled outt he fireplace, and (I think the story was) out the door. This has always seemed so fantastical to me that I've not bought into it.

Still, I'd love to hear your experience.

Its not a republic when you can't leave. He destroyed any idea of states rights, and elevated the northeast to a position of authority over the rest of the country that exists to this day.

Oh, the white on black absolutely is. It hasn't been a meaningful problem for decades. 30 years? 40 years?

Black on white is what was stoked, same as what we've watched happen with women. And the children are still being taught that. And they teach their children that, etc etc.

(Heck, it's easy to see even here. Ask conservative parents of young women if they're raising them to be independent. Of course they are.)

It will take decades to remedy Obamas racial upheaval.

I think we will need some time to fully evaluate the extent of the damage. Lots of stuff is still not entirely known.

As for Obama's third term, it's still Biden who was in office.

I think Wilson is a solid choice for #3 because whatever one wants to say about Lincoln, the restored Republic still had the same checks and balances, state selection of senators, and the military/industrial complex vanished immediately afterwards.

Wilson created the administrative state, popular election of senators, 19th Amendment, income tax, and he utterly destroyed the European state system, guaranteeing another war.

It is also not a republic if elections are non-binding. If state or region can just leave because they don't like the result, you don't have a nation, you have a patchwork of temporary alliances.

There was a legal path to secession which was completely ignored: an Article 5 convention of the states. This was completely ignored in favor of armed rebellion.

As for Lincoln's excesses, I suggest you read up on other civil wars. He fought with kid gloves and offered his enemies plush pillows by comparison.

I read multiple places that, as the Brits, French, and US were negotiating how to handle a Post WW I Germany - that the Brits and French were both relieved and amused that Wilson would agree to just about any sanctions ... as long as he got his damn League of Nations.

276 "The malign influence of the Israeli Left in the Knesset notwithstanding."

Not just the Knesset. The Deep State of Israel, its Leftist Establishment if you prefer, includes the security/intelligence apparatus, the high command of the military, the news media, academia, the cultural elite, and the judiciary. They run the country, plain and simple. The “government” led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has figurehead status only; it runs nothing of consequence.

The Israeli Deep State routinely conducts spurious investigations and other forms of lawfare over alleged wrongdoing by patriotic officials, and arrests them at will. They kneecap the army in its conduct of war. They also work hand-in-hand with woke American and European NGOs to demoralize the population.
