  • Intel has received a $7.9 billion grant from the US government under the CHIPS Act. (Notebook Check)

This is not a different grant to the previous $8.5 billion grant though. That one had not been completed, and has been reduced by $600 million due to the $3 billion contract Intel has received to produce secure chips for the Pentagon.

Which when compared to the nonsense the government so often gets up to - this grant goes to pay Americans working at American companies in America - seems almost quaint.

  • I am reminded as I am every couple of years that Perth exists.

That USB storage device I bought was in stock and shipped just hours after I placed my order with Amazon... From the far edge of the asteroid belt.

13 I am reminded as I am every couple of years that Perth exists.

Now I want to go there more than ever. Prior finding out tonight that Perth is part of an asteroid belt all I knew of the place is they have a great rock band, The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, and that Stadium Super Truck racing takes place there.

Since Eastern Australia has such great disdain for Western Australia, Perth in particular, do the people that live there ever express they want to form their own country and build an opera house?

The reason they have to do something is because they previously had to do something: namely, insist that healthcare records become electronic.

22 Good morning, good people, from the Adirondacks where we had a 2 day ice event. Do NOT like ice storms at all, this one didn't grow too much ice, fortunately the ambient temps kept the accumulation low. Got just nasty enough to be unpredictable where the slick spots were.

Now the talk is of snow for T Day though no accumulation was even guessed at.

Remarkably the article is completely free of the impacts of illegal aliens and drugs pouring over the border. The amusing part is the disclosure at the end of the article that this so-called news organization is funded by the Borderplex Alliance, which has a vested interest in trade not being disrupted.

The day before Thanksgiving is a spotty one for transcriptionists like me. Either the doctors want to clear the decks for the holiday and so the day is packed from morn till night, or everyone says 'fuck it' and you've got 8 hours of sitting and waiting for work.

Amusingly Google and Facebook are finding this not amusing.

One 7'9" section of 3" PVC pipe with turned and poly'd wooden plugs at each end. A pair of threaded furniture leveling legs and 300' of 1/4 inch sisal rope wrapped around the entire length of pipe. " I wish for you that you are surrounded by the people you love and who love you –

( What is the necessity of telling people to be part of a family in whatever way they compose that? Don't they know that?)

“We are powerful, those of us who love our country, and we’ve got a lot of work to do."

(Si I guess those of us who didn't vote for her don't love our country?)

30+ yr old, has a decent job but won't save a penny. Lives with her 'partner', who doesn't cook, clean, drive, or contribute to the household. My Mary (not really daughter - but rather niece by marriage but adopted by her Aunt, my wife) can always find these losers. Anyway - they only had one pos vehicle that died due to lack of basic maintenance, and had absolutely no resources to get other transportation. There is old family $$ that Mary will inherit some day after a certain death in the family. We 'borrowed' some of that to get a decent hoopdie for her to get to work in.

I figured she'll just piss it away after it is bequeathed to her anyway. Might as well use some of it to get her wheels now. The whole thing is maddening.

Mary thinks it is all 'bad luck' when in actual fact, it's all poor life choices.
