Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | CBS Poll: Trump Now At Highest Approval of His Political Career; 73% Say That Deporting Illegals Is Either a Medium or High PriorityPolls are for strippers, but good polls are for nice ladies who want to exercise in Lycra. Many have said that what America is feeling right now is deep relief that the criminal disaster of the Biden Administration is almost over, and genuine excitement that America is about to get good again. But it's not all good Vibes: Democrats say they feel more scared about what Trump might do than they did in 2016, and a large majority of Democrats think as president he will threaten their rights and freedoms. But at the same time, there seems to be a sense of exhaustion, as fewer than half of Democrats feel motivated to oppose Trump right now.CBS "News" begins pre-establishing the next media attack: Why doesn't inflation fall immediately to zero the moment Trump takes the oath of office? After winning comes expectations. There's a net optimism about the incoming administration's effect on food and grocery prices, especially among Trump's voters. That comes as most Americans continue to say prices are currently rising. And inflation was a big factor in Trump winning in the first place. It may be no surprise then that among many potential items for the incoming administration, Americans say plans to lower prices ought to be the top priority. ... Trump's current selections for agency heads and Cabinet picks get rated overwhelmingly as good choices from Trump's voters, and are net-positive as selections among Americans who have heard enough about them to say. (Many have not heard enough yet.)CBS "News" attempts to spin Americans' views on deportation: ... As was the case with voters throughout the campaign, most Americans would, in principle, approve of a new mass deportation program.57% approve it, in fact. That's a big majority in a divided country. If the Trump administration does start a mass deportation program, most of the public would have it carried out by law enforcement or current immigration agencies -- most would not have the U.S. military do it.That CBS article doesn't mention their poll's finding that the public rates deportation as either a high or medium priority. MXMNews does: A CBS News poll reveals that 73% of Americans, including a majority across racial lines, believe President-elect Donald Trump should focus on repatriating illegal migrants. More than half also support a nationwide program to deport all illegal immigrants. Key Details: CBS News/YouGov poll shows 45% of Americans view deportations as a "high priority," with 28% considering it a "medium priority." Only 27% say it's "not a priority."Happy Thanksgiving week, everybody. Have you finished your shopping?

Because Willowed, and it's germane to this thread.
Regarding the tariff question in the previous thread, does anyone have an estimate for the number of illegal immigrants that enter the USA from Canada? I know there must be some, but not likely near as many as cross the southern border. I remember last year, while I was crossing (legally) at Sweetgrass, MT, seeing a large number of African and Indo types exit a bus on the Canadian side, and walking across the border through the car lane, and being "processed" by the same booth agent that dealt with me when I arrived. Don't know the whole story there, but if USCBP is letting them enter, then Canada cannot be blamed for them. Trump should place a 100% tariff on Canadian poutine. All the more for me! I don’t think Thanksgiving has any songs because November doesn’t have a lot going for it.
October is my favorite month followed by my least favorite month. Here is a poem by Thomas Hood that sums it up. No sun — no moon! No morn — no noon — No dawn — no dusk — no proper time of day. No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease, No comfortable feel in any member — No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! — November! Also, the last straw is a little complicated but Wisc has a cabal of road builders and major recipients of state construction bids who allegedly fix prices and bids at higher than market prices. Walkers response was to push to change the law to allow out of state companies to bid on WI projects to shake up their cozy situation and the road builders swore they'd get him out of office for that. No, let's have people who are disloyal to their boss. Why even mention that, wouldn't Democrats want loyal picks in a Dem administration? Motherfu**er! I just went to Total Wine to get beverages for Thanksgiving. Pulling out of the packed lot, I totally sideswiped the concrete piling holding up the parking lot lights. Passenger door crushed pretty bad, but the door still works. I'm about to get an "online photo estimate" from a local body shop. But I'm not doing that yet. I'm too pissed at myself to even look at the damage again, never mind take pics. Maybe after a couple beers, I will be in a better state of mind.

For argument's sake, let's say Homan concentrates on removing illegal immigrants outside of those democrat territories where they are offering protection. What is the behavior this stance causes? Well, every illegal immigrant and their extended families will just flock to these "protected areas."
These "protected areas" are already inundated with high crime rates, poor infrastructure, failing retirement programs and spending far out distancing the revenue brought in. It's going to get worse...MUCH MUCH WORSE. And, how will the sycophant democrat dominated populous react to these very visible changes? Hey -- whatever happened to "Anti"fa? Posted by: eleven Somehow I fell down the Wikipedia hole while looking up various anti-Nazi organizations and the Hollywood blacklist. I'm reminded of how Hollywood whined about HUAC persecuting them... and of course every last one of them was a Soviet Comintern front who changed their name and purpose away from anti-Naziism immediately after the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact in '39, only to change back in '41 when the Nazis invaded the USSR. Then in '45, they changed into "peace" organizations, but still run by the Comintern. Posted by: IllTemperedCur at November 26, 2024 02:46 PM (y9nCu) 439
