Nate Silver Wonders Why Taylor Lorenz Won't Post Her Age or Birthdate (and She Actually Posts Her Age)

For those of you who don't know why we're always picking on her: Because she's constantly doxing and defaming people and calling for cancellations and then crying on TV when anyone sends "hate" her way.

She hides her age because she wheedles her way in to "interviews" with teenagers and wants to pretend she's a generation younger than she really is. Apparently her family owns important internet archives and all biographical information about her has been scrubbed. You know, like she's some kind of super-spy.

The infantile woman who outed LibsofTikTok's name and place of business is complaining about someone "directing online hate" towards her.

White lefties have been in a bubble of privilege so long and subscribe to a political philosophy -- or, more accurately, a political cope -- that says they are owed even more privileges.

They melt down and scream when they don't get the privileges they believe they're entitled to, so many people have coddled them these past ten years and granted these privileges, thinking, wrongly, that it was easier to give baby their ba-ba than to stand up to them.

They were wrong. Giving in to these entitled terrorists' demands only encouraged, get this, more terrorism, and has led to more and more extravagant demands of privilege and deference.

But people are now pushing back. And the coddled, privileged lefties are melting down even more crazily now, because they've become so accustomed to getting their own way when they crime, scream, and stamp their feet.

But this 71-year-old woman, whose car was hit by an uninsured Millennial who then fled the scene, isn't having it.

Commenters have brought up the concept of an "extinction burst" -- something children do when they're disciplined.

And obviously these adult children have never been disciplined before.

Google AI's summary:

An extinction burst is a temporary increase in the intensity, duration, or frequency of an unwanted behavior that occurs when a reward or reinforcement is taken away. It's a part of the extinction process, which is used to reduce or stop behaviors that were previously rewarded.

Here are some examples of extinction bursts:

Withholding screen time
When a parent withholds screen time until a child completes their homework, the child may experience an extinction burst.

Withholding praise
When a parent stops praising a child for a particular behavior, the child may experience an extinction burst.

Withholding a desired outcome
When a toddler stops crying to get their way, they may escalate to a tantrum to get the desired outcome.

Extinction bursts can be a sign that an intervention is working, but they can also be aversive and unintentionally reinforce the behavior. When an extinction burst occurs, it's important to not react with fear and to pay as little attention to the behavior as possible.

As Halperin said, we're headed for the greatest mental health crisis in American history. We're going to see a huge escalation in nervous breakdowns and bursts of leftwing violence as we tell them "no."

For some, this will be an extinction burst, and they will begin comporting themselves to the New Rules.

For others: They'll pick up a gun or axe and kill their families or maybe themselves.

It's going to get a little choppy.

I really feel like 2016 will have been worse in retrospect.

Trump was unexpected in 2016. In 2024, we've already survived one term, and this is just the second.

Can the left really break any harder than they did, with corporate America's enthusiastic support and encouragement which seems to be much more muted this time (at least so far), from 2017 through 2021?

We are already in the greatest mental health crisis, but the insane have been backed up by government. Confess to the global warming religion or be fired, or worse. Use the insane's "proper pronouns" or be cancelled.

The "crisis" will occur for a few when their delusions are confronted, not enabled. Many will go back to what they always knew was normal. The breakdowns will be largely fake, with a few crazies going violent, perhaps.

And she's right.

Criticism of fascists online is not the same as hateful and hurtful attacks by fascists online. Not only is it different in fact - and that alone should be enough to do away with this whole canard - it is also different in spirit.

Exposing fascists is done in the interests of general safety - the safety of those targeted by fascists and the safety of the community in general. This is done out of hate, but out of love and respect - love and respect for fellow humans, and a desire to not see them harassed, ostracized, oppressed, beaten or murdered by fascists. Fascist harassment is never just or justified. It is merely retribution.

The goal of exposing fascists as fascists is to help them learn to be better. The goal of fascist retribution is oppression and violence.

Quit. Drawing. False. Equivalencies.

Goes back to at least the Bush administration. About the time the Iraq War started 20-odd years ago, I had a desiccated hippie couple pull something similar in a SoCal parking structure. She stood behind my car to prevent me from leaving while he stood next to my door berating me. I fired up the car and revved the engine to choke her with fumes, while laying into the horn. Nice thing is, I didn't have to scrape my knuckles by breaking his nose

What is amazing is that is a lifetime score, so the older one gets, the more likely a 'yes' answer. 18-29 year old liberal women with mental health issues are more than half, with only a third of the life experience.

I have come to understand that you can break your own and others' mental health and cause at least temporary insanity by cruelty, excessive emotional expression, stress, and simply being mentally weak.

I watched people go literally insane during the panic lockdowns. They broke, and some never got better.

Ace- there are less than 4g of carbs in a serving of zucchini. If you do the net carb calculation, it’s less than 2.5. It is a very low glycemic vegetable. Your body does need some carbs, it needs fiber. Do you just not like Zucchini? Steak ummms, while actually meat, aren’t from the highest cuts and are all chopped up and then pressed together. I don’t know what their holding up power will be.

I am sure it’s probably pointless for me to discuss keto with you in general, but know there are ways to eat that will still help you lose weight or gain muscle or maintain, depending on your goals, that give your body everything it needs. If you ever want to talk about it, let me know. Xoxo. 😀

Nothing like this has ever happened in our Country before. They have also used State Prosecutors and District Attorneys, such as Fani Willis and her lover, Nathan Wade (who had absolutely zero
experience in cases such as this, but was paid MILLIONS, enough for them to take numerous trips and cruises around the globe!), Letitia James, who inappropriately, unethically, and probably Illegally, campaigned on "GETTING TRUMP" in order to win Political Office, and Alvin Bragg, who himself never wanted to bring this case against me, but was forced to do so by the Justice Department and the Democrat Party....

After they serve their time in prison (for the actual fascists) ... sure, it would be nice if they learned to be better. But recidivism in general is pretty high.

"Fascist Retribution" ... what is that? Making criminals pay for their crimes? A goal of prison may be to reform them, but mostly prison is to stop the criminal's "oppression and violence" against the public in general.

Ace, try layering eggplant. If you fry it first like eggplant Parm it holds up better but you do need to roast it first. Then you can layer ricotta, mozzarella, even add peppers and then sauce just like lasagna.

I had an idea? Why not cook up some Steak Umm cheesesteak slices and use that for layering?

I dunno if it'll work, but I'm trying it.

Given the age of these requested correspondence, it is no longer retained in online systems. Messages are retained in online retrieval systems for three years, at which time they are archived for the balance of the legally-required retention period.

The archive system in this case is digital tape storage. We were able to locate the referenced information in the tape management system, but the tapes involved were unable to be read. It appears that an undiscovered moisture problem in the tape library has caused failure of numerous tapes from the period of 2018-2021. We are partnering with a data recovery firm in an effort to recover information from the damaged tapes, but results so far have not been promising.

We will continue to be transparent with the House of Representatives in pursuit of its vital oversight and accountability mission.

I told her to get insurance info and call local cop shop for accident report. Turkey is cheaper this year, that much is true. So is milk, though cheese and sour cream aren't. Ham is not. Fresh fruit and vegetables are not. Stuffing mix is not. Potatoes are not. Beer and wine are not. Soda is not. Canned vegetables are about the same.

What planet are these people on? I skimmed the article and it seems to boil down to, "turkey is cheaper and some stores are doing semi-prepared bundled deals that are okay on price."

_____

What to drink tho? Tap water? Maybe you could do it for $60 if you tried really hard with such a bare, cheapo dinner that it pissed off everyone and they threw you out into the cold. But I'll bet any amount of money that the average cost for a 10-person T-day dinner in even the poorest households is more than $60.

What is the point of reporting on the cost of something, if the cost is totally unrealistic and clearly not reflective of what people are actually paying.

It's like reporting on the average cost of cars, based just on the base price -- without adding any options, when everyone knows options today are 20% or more of the cost of a car.

Buy a big bag of plain jane taters to mash yourself. sweet taters are usually on sale this time of year. Make the pies from scratch. (given cost of pie filling and canned pumpkin this still might be iffy). Make the stuffing with that old bread you save for homemade panko.

Still with the cost of butter, cream, eggs, etc getting a meal for 10 done for $60 seems like a squeeze.

But that's why a lot of folks can't cook - to do that, it's probably just open cans and make boxes.

Boxed mashed potatoes, canned cranberry sauce, boxed stuffing, jarred gravy, and canned green beans. The turkey may or may not also come out of a box or can. Then, you have pie filling poured into a graham crust. And everyone drinks tap water and we ignore the cost of serving and cleaning.

I'm thinking of the bags we give for the poor at Church for Thanksgiving...that's probably about that amount of money...

Like I said, what I can remember from hanging around the shop, soak the fruit fillings like raisins and whatever in a booze soak (rum, maybe port wine is what Dad used for fruitcake). I remember he added fine crushed walnuts. Also, while baking, get tuned up like Dad and the crew.

The prep was easy, and every dish tasted homemade. We let Costco handle Thanksgiving dinner by ordering a premade meal from the warehouse chain's site. The $180 meal for eight included a turkey breast, rolls, six sides, and two pies.

Cheaper than some markets.

I've got two six-packs of Hamm's in the fridge, even now. 16 oz. cans. TWO sixers at Krogers, for $11/both, plus tax.

DECENT cheap beer. Better, more "beer-like" than Bud.

Back in the day, Schlitz was mabye THE MOST "beer-like" flavor in any mass market brew. Then the MBAs got involved, changed the formula for "savings", and destroyed the brand.

Family of geniuses also lost the original recipe, and brewmasters who knew how to make the old beer. THAT is a brand, though still "exists", which is truly lost to the mash-bill of time.

In Texas, "Olympia" is brewed in one of the San Antonio breweries. Lone Star or Pearl, I fail to recall.

I think it's worse than Ace thinks. I think a significant minority of these batshit crazy people will imagine themselves as a brave Resistance, take the Weathermen Underground route, and start shooting and bombing and so on. I suppose the word 'Choppy' to describe what's coming is as good a word as any.

486 On the sitcom Community, 2009-2015, Alison Brie (whom many of you know from Mad Men) played the innocent young Annie Edison. At least, her character is supposed to be young and innocent. I've never been able to believe either because a) the actress was about ten years older than the character, and b) a quick look at her biography seems to belie any real innocence - and she's not that good an actress. In the Series Finale, she gets a job with an Alphabet Agency (I forgot which) that's supposed to be in synch with her high ideals. Instead, I find it ominous, not just because of what we now know about the CIA & FBI, but also because she resembles Taylor Lorenz*.

*Miss Brie has aged poorly since 2015.

490 My mom and dad had no patience with this crap. More than once, one or the other of us kids spent a lovely meal out sitting in the back of the station wagon waiting. Misbehavior had consequences. Usually involving a wooden spoon or worse. Missing a meal was light punishment.

Neither did mine. When I was 6, we were at Frontier Town in upstate New York and I refused to get off of the Stagecoach. My mother grabbed me by the arm and took me to the car (my feet never touched the ground). There we sat for the rest of the afternoon. Learned real quick that my mother meant what she said when she said NOW!
