I wonder if this is supposed to be a counter to the Thanksgiving ideal. Instead of a large, perfectly roasted bird ready to feed a family, it's a scrawny, pathetic chicken, prepared in a small kitchen. The heavy black lines and rough brushstrokes give off a not-too-happy mood. The steep angle of the sink is off-putting too. This whole work is unbalanced and kinda sad.

Teach your children well. Posted by: The Old Scrubwoman at November 27, 2024 09:55 AM (nS6qG) --------------- I grew up very poor and naive (did not own a car until I was 26 -- rode my bicycle everywhere). Anywho, my first love had a beautiful red '66 Mustang that she generally wouldn't let me drive (a beast with no power steering). One day, thinking it would be "cute" -- while passing it in the driveway on my way to her front door, I wrote "WASH ME!" on the dusty hood with my finger. She got extremely angry on seeing that (she loved that car more than me -- once broke down in tears of grief reserved for funerals upon the news that her stepfather had wrecked it); unbeknownst to me I had scratched those words into the paint. I love those one-piece sink and drainboard sinks. They are a completely modular kitchen sink with cabinets, and drawers. It is a post-WW2 design, modular, for the building boom. I have one in my house, though it was probably used since the house was built in 1965.
They do have the problem of not standing up to use for 60 years, but I think they are classy, and they are easy to install (they do weigh as much as a piano, but then . . .) and they are easy to clean. There is a modern one that uses a Corian sink and integrated drainboards too, and they are also the tits. Posted by: Kindltot at November 27, 2024 10:34 AM (D7oie) 314

DeSantis is the best manager in the new GOP by far, but he's got an unfortunately pitched speaking voice and is uncomfortable when he's campaigning. I'd guess most of us believe that the FNM releases bogus polls as cover for the DNC cheating. But I suppose the LIV democrats still believe the lying media and wonder what happened, how did the R's steal the election, etc.

That they couldn't steal at 2022 levels, or even 2020 levels, still surprises me.
They knew they could steal first and ask for forgiveness later. It had never not worked. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, finding suspense, madness, and humanity with Michael Powell Steals of that magnitude require a certain foundation in actual legit votes to work to maintain any level of credibility, however thin. That foundation had crumbled away and they knew it (and we have the numbers to illustrate it now). There wasn't a point, so they didn't bother, and decided just to loot the war chest while they could. Posted by: Brother Tim, Keeper of the Tim Continuum at November 27, 2024 11:00 AM (OUMaO) 392

He showed poor judgment listening to the GOPee big donor wormtongues and running against Trump.
Doesn't mean I won't vote for him if he's our nominee, but for now JD is clearly the handpicked (by Don Jr. apparently) torch-bearer of the MAGA Movement. She wasn't shoved. She pushed to get there herself. Every indication is that she worked her ass off in July to get the delegates to support her after Biden dropped out. She wanted this. No one forced it upon her. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, finding suspense, madness, and humanity with Michael Powell at November 27 I'm not talking about this election. I mean before. By this year she's a drunk who is constantly hearing the toadies say how brilliant she is. And she believes it. I would almost bet that she was being used by the grift machine and believed them when they said she could win. Drunk and retarded are bad combo.
