After a dog was lost for three years, his owner gets a tip out of the blue that his beloved mutt might have been found living on the street as a stray.

Apparently everyone in Amsterdam is so high they made a cat a cop.

Is he really a cop? Well, that depends: Do you want to live in a world of whimsy and wonder, or do you want to know the truth?

There are gorgeous cats everywhere, peeking from windows, trotting down scenic streets, and even leaping from rooftops. With so many canals in the city, cats are often near the water. It's for that reason the city also has an unofficial police cat!
Nimis, the Police Cat of Amsterdam

A black cat, Nimis, lives on a houseboat with his senior brother, Tommy. His mom, Lydia, adopted him as a kitten. At two years old, he's still extremely playful. Unfortunately, that means he sometimes falls into the water! So his mom, Lydia, started putting a bright yellow life vest on him.


As you can see, she works on the police force. But whenever she goes out for walks with Nimis, people would laugh. His vest purrfectly matches her police uniform! It made the day more fun, and to make it even funnier, she applied police patches to his vest. From that moment on, his unofficial duties began.

Nimis is the cute nemesis to anyone who would be in a bad mood.

"He's been going through the neighborhood, and now everyone thinks of him as our local police agent cat," she said.

One day, Lydia started posting videos of Nimis on social media. At first, it was aimed at entertaining the family, and her young nieces. But then, the videos went viral, reaching millions of views!

"I wasn't about to start doing funny dances, so I did this," she said."It's crazy. It's crazy! I never expected that, of course. It was just for fun."

Every morning, Nimis wants to go on patrol, hopping to the round portal to see the view. When it's time, Lydia opens the window and he hops out to begin his adventures.

Where do the Democrats go from here?

Each party, like it or not, run on "dynasty" cycles. Often it involved a president, then his VP, or children, or in recent times wife.

In the past, the Dems had the Roosevelt-Truman Dynasty. The GOP had the Eisenhower-Nixon Dynasty, which was interrupted by the JFK-Johnson-RFK dynasty. Then there was the Reagan-Bush Sr.-Bush Jr.-Cheney Dynasty, which competed against the Clinton-Gore-Hillary Dynasty.

Which brings us up to the present, with the Obama-Biden-Kamala Dynasty being stopped by the Trump I-Trump II--(Vance???) Dynasty.

But as the above lists note, the Dems have just come to the end of their most recent dynasty. The Obama-Biden-Kamala Dynasty is now FINISHED -- Obama not eligible, Biden too old, Kamala proven unelectable, none of their kids old enough or involved in politics, and they ran out of VPs.

So the Dems have to start from scratch, someone generate a new dynasty from thin air.

But they have no one. No big names. No elder statesmen. Not young dynasty members.

Bringing in new names out of the blue rarely works.

FDR already had a famous family name, as did Bush Jr.

Eisenhower was a legendary WWII hero

Truman, Nixon, Johnson, Bush Sr., etc. were VPs.

And so on.

The only "new names out of the blue" who actually won the presidency that I can think of were:

Carter, Clinton, Obama.

They weren't all "new," but none had national name recognition until they ran for president.

Who will their Carter/Clinton/Obama be for 2028?

Personally, I don't see ANY viable candidates on the Left. They're all compromised or crazy or extremists. And the Internet has changed the landscape -- much more difficult to whitewash a candidate's past.

I think the frontrunners in 2028 are Newsom and Whitmer.
Perhaps Harris or Walz will try again, but I don't see them getting anywhere.

A few dark horses might be Josh Shapiro or Jared Polis.

GOP 2028 looks like Vance, DeSantis, Haley, Ramaswamy again.

Four years is a long way off, though.
I wouldn't put real money down on any of those predictions at this point.

If he can connect to wifi, he won’t need cellular service. It will only work when he is connected to wifi but these days, that isn’t hard. My wife uses a verizon tablet, and likes it. It was difficult to get her the idea between wifi and cell phone minutes, but we finally got it figured out. she has a data plan that is reasonable.

If he doesn't want to use the tablet keyboard, he can be like my dad and get a laptop that will do wifi and can be linked into a phone as a hotspot.
I carry a full sized keyboard with my laptop because I have big fat fingers

It should also be possible to set up the prepaid phone as a hotspot (if it's capable), and use a WiFi table. Another option to check is whether the phone could use a normal sized Bluetooth keyboard. The keys would be larger, but the screen limit would be the same.

It could also be reversed if Shaprio wins the primaries.

The Dems will be laser-focused like stoned cats on the Electoral College and the Blue Wall states to win them back in '28.

These bang a near by cell tower and provide wireless internet at more than sufficient speeds in the $50 to $60 price range. They are easy to setup and have great reliability with one caveat. Since they are wireless there most sufficient coverage where the modem will be setup. But if this not a issue they work great - I know because I have been using the Verizon flavor for a couple years. Oh, and there are no data caps.

335 Note that the Senate Rules Committee is nothing like its House namesake, which is a powerful body there. Senate Rules is Siberia, in power terms. Cannot recall that committee doing anything of consequence all the years I was there. They don't even really run the show on "rules". Senate rules, rarely touched, are done on the floor.

Last senator with a serious knowledge of the rules was Byrd (WV), don't think anyone like that exists today. Once saw him win an epic struggle with the parliamentarian, key issue being whether a footnote in the Senate Rules book was numbered with a Roman, vs. arabic, numeral. Along with Fritz Hollings speeches, a Byrd v. parliamentarian debate was one you didn't want to miss.

336 Ben Had, if JT does get multiple chargeable devices (phone, keyboard, etc.), it would be a good idea to get a USB charger that can charge all of them at once. Probably obvious, but it would prevent down time while each device is charged in a row.
