Northern Alberta has numerous kimberlite pipes. At least one outcrops in the Buffalo Head Hills. No diamonds, as far as I know. Marie Lake in northeastern Alberta has a beach with distinctly purple sand, from a type of garnet associated with kimberlite pipes. It is quite a sight.

Even in "diamond-rich" kimberlites, diamonds are not abundant. You would need to process a few hundred tons of kimberlite material to say definitively that there are no diamonds present.

I never got involved in the diamond game. It takes deep pockets to do even the most basic surface exploration.

Just past Barstow on I-15, there is a turnoff for Ft Irwin and the National Training Center. Up that road a way and off to the left is a small road that leads to a very private patch of desert. A lot of gold comes out of there.

Nix, while listed as missing was promoted to Lt. Cmdr and awarded the Legion of Merit. He was declared dead 25 Nov 1945.

He has the distinction of being the first plebe to marry on Academy grounds in the Chapel. He was survived by his wife and two sons. Walter Nix was USNA class of '54.

352 I hooked up three more LED + #67 bulb sets to my transformer and rectifier. Two lit, two didn't. And the rectifier began to run hot. I think one unit per transformer/rectifier combo is as good as it will get. OK, I will make single-bar lights.

Maybe some kind of switching power supply to boost 12 volts to 18 for automotive use, too?
