Trump correctly expedited vaccine approval in 2020 out of the utilitarian concern that whatever the health risks were of speeding the process up, the immediate, massive risk of a disease that killed a bunch of people was worse.

I know he's complained about lack of transparency on testing vaccines as well as the testing done. I know he's complained about industry influence. I know he thinks the approval process is too lenient. I know he thinks FDA don't monitor released drugs enough.

So my belief is he would add more testing for drugs in the pipeline. He would add monitoring for current drugs on the market. He would do something to break the coupling of FDA employees and Pharma companies.

Is that right? Am I missing big points? None of that seems too terrible. What are FDA employees freaking out about? Maybe they don't want a non-compete type clause that they can't make money from Pharma while still employed by FDA?

But a while back I saw a video of a guy who started a homestead for his family, with cows, chickens, etc. All their staples are home grown. Had his blood tested, and he had high glyphosate levels. How? He researched and a lot of feed suppliers spray their fields to dry them out before harvest. So he was feeding his cattle high levels of roundup because it is convenient and no one checks for it in meat. So his whole family had high levels from eating beef. That was the theory but he was still investigating at the time.

I never saw how it turned out for the homesteader, but this is fucked up if true. We have a problem with US food industry.

we use Roundup to spray roads, and it is used a lot in cleaning fence lines and grass seed fields. When you spray the fields you put a sticker (soap) and a dye in the mix so you don't spot spray the same weed six times. Some of the guys I talked to were pissed because they all had problems with leaky equipment and went home with stains all over them. They were not sure if there was a problem and they were afraid they were going to find out.

The present vaccine schedule for children/infants is pretty alarming.

The government should be out of the charity business entirely. Charity did it better because those running it cared and so judged if this person needed help or was grifting. Encouraging more charities and giving the organizations help in getting materials would be far better use of money.

Japan cut smoking levels about the same as US, and obesity did not change much. I always thought the increase in air conditioning (A/C and heat) is the biggest factor. Japan still uses space heating, not central, and people spend a lot of time walking instead of driving.

One of the things I found interesting about the Whole 30 (besides the horse meat!! thing that naturalfake found) was the idea of avoiding *ANY* sweeteners during the 30 days. Seems like that would help reset your taste buds to a more normal level of sweet tolerance / craving, which in turn would help one notice all the added gunk.

Yes and no. Basically Congress has given the executive all sorts of power buried in statutes over the years--waivers, emergency powers triggered by proclamations, etc. The easiest way which is a reversal, is simply have the government shut down but continue essential services. RIF (reduction in force) is an exception to civil service removal in such cases for example.

People forget but when the current budget regime was set up in the 1970's, we had several 'shutdowns' that no one noticed much.

It was much later during the GHW Bush years that shutdowns because government spending bills had not passed in time became politicized.

DOGE, in part, is to give Trump the tools to fight the PR battle over the inevitable shutdowns that will occur during his term.

Thimerasol and the current aluminim compound used were only partially used for preservation. they are also compounds that create an immune response on their own, and trick the body into identifying any foreign element in the body as an immune system threat. That means the viral fragments in the "killed virus" shots are recognized as dangerous and "remembered" by the immune system

it also has the risk of causing an immune response to other things as well, and I suspect the rise in allergies to peanuts and latex and whatnot are also linked to the adjudivants in the vaccines.
It may have something to do with the rise of auto-immune disease, and chronic inflammation. No one knows because of the risk that it might be true, and the damage claims that would cause
