Two Democrat governors have announced their intent to break the law and protect criminals.
Two Democratic governors and their political allies have created two groups -- Governors Safeguarding Democracy and Governors Action Alliance -- to oppose President-elect Donald Trump's 2024 mandate to enforce the nation's popular immigration laws. "I'm going to do everything that I can to protect our undocumented immigrants and our society if someone were to come in and forcibly take our [migrants] away from us," co-founder Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, told MSNBC on November 13: "The fear is he's talking about going after law-abiding [migrants] ... who are working as construction workers or in ag[riculture] or in the hospitality industry," Gov. Jared Polis, the wealthy Democratic governor of Colorado who co-founded the group, told CPR.ORG, "Obviously, it would devastate our economy," he insisted. Bob Ferguson is urging state-level resistance to Trump's federal authority. In North Carolina, Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed a migration enforcement plan for the state sheriffs. But Trump's pro-American deputies are promising to up the legal and civic pressure on the Democrats. "If you don't want to work with us, then get the hell out all the way, we're going to do it," said Tom Homan, Trump's top White House official for migraiton enforcement. He added;
We have a mandate. I think the American people just gave President Trump a mandate. That's why he's elected -- to secure the border, save lives and deport people, especially national security threats and public safety threats. So if you're not going to help us, step aside, but don't get in our way, because there will be consequences.
Homan says "game on" to the grossly obese transgenderism-for-children enthusiast Pritzker.
After the blue state governor made the pledge upon Trump's win against Kamala Harris, Homan responded on Charlie Kirk's podcast, "Game on. We've got no problem going through him. I've got 20,000 men and women in ICE who are going to do their job with no apology." "And if any governor wants to stand in the way, go ahead and do it. We'll see what happens. We're not gonna be intimidated," Homan added. Pritzker said that the state of Illinois would be prepared to bring a lawsuit against the federal government if it withholds public funding over the sanctuary state policies. "To anyone that comes to take away freedom and dignity of Illinoisans, I would remind you that a happy warrior is still a warrior," Pritzker said. Homan worked under Trump's first term as president as the leader of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and has over 30 years of immigration enforcement experience.

I discussed this with my lawyer daughter, and she said while it may seem straightforward to deny them funding, it isn't as simple as it seems. Note that this does not mean she opposed it or endorses it, just that it might well get tied up in the courts for a long time, and we could even lose.

Nonsense. For one thing, tell Johnson and the other dicks in the House to pass a damn budget. Just remove funding from things from a budget and it ceases to exist.
Second, an executive branch can do what Biden has done over and over with student loans (and that CA has done with prisons), ignore court rulings or continually issue new executive orders that claim to be in compliance but which clearly are not. The point is not how some robed retard rules, the point is to endlessly tie up the funding. Dims absolutely need endless streams of funding for their sclerotic bureaucracies, their NGOs acting as criminal fronts, and for their unprofitable businesses. Simply interrupt that flow even for a few months, and pain results

what I cannot fathom is why Healey a so many MA judges go out of their way to protect the truly criminal, dangerous ones.

Its been a while since I had any information about this, but here's what I heard at that time. One thing that makes it difficult to prosecute is the polig groups all cluster in very small border towns. If a couple of strangers show up in town, EVERYONE hears about it and the poligs scatter across the border. They stay hidden until the strangers leave. And nobody talks to them.
Another thing is the poligs WANT their day in court. Everyone knows the laws against polygamy are vague and most likely won't hold up in court. Especially now that all sorts of "non-traditional" families have the state's blessing. And plenty of married people aren't exactly strictly monogamous. All that gives the poligs plenty of ammo in court to argue their "marriages" aren't really all that harmful.

I don't see how a mere resolution can alter the reading of the constitution. If it could, the Dems surely would have "clarified" the second amendment by now.

I will say this: Gen alpha is over the woke sensitivity stuff. And I'm in a blueish area. Apparently my kid back in first grade was given a lecture about being nice to everyone and respecting races and gay people and crap. My kid told me all the kids were giggling behind their hands and found it silly.
He also likes using the word gay a lot. They just don't care. It feels like a small cultural slide back to the center. Hoping it sticks.

I believe that was a key attack against the Kingston clan. Even that one can be a bit tricky. I believe the US still has some weird laws about how young you can marry if you have the blessing of your parents. And if you live your entire life inside one of these groups, many of the kids think they want to be married very young. So who's going to testify a marriage was "forced?" Disaffected ex-members, mostly. And they often have an axe to grind. Or if a kid runs away and tells someone. But how often does that happen?
To be very clear, I don't like any of this. I find it disgusting. I'm just trying to convey that these things are difficult for authorities to handle.

I used to notice that in high school in Spanish II and III. The kids who clearly spoke the language at home almost always floundered on the grammar or other fine points of it (just as my English-speaking classmates did in English classes). For some reason both groups could not understand what a "gerund" was supposed to be -- though in each language, a gerund is as easy to spot as a white cat on a dark sofa.

I'm not sure if it's Kerrygold or another Irish butter I recently got at Aldi, but it's much better for pan frying that normal American butter. It takes heat much better before burning/browning. Fewer protein solids or somesuch.

In the UK, the laws are the complete inversion of rational sanity: If you sneak into the UK illegally, you are allowed to stay indefinitely AND given free housing, food, welfare, healthcare and more. But if you arrive legally and declare yourself, then you can only stay 6 months before being deported and fined.
