Posted by: RedMindBlueState at November 14, 2024 09:43 AM (Wnv9h) 58
I would never guess that this was painted after the Civil War. It has the feel of something contemporary to the 1700s. I should look up more of his art (nothing on Wiki) as he obviously has fine talent. The poses are natural for the scene, the use of light and background is excellent, and the details are natural and realistic. The scene doesn't make me want to hang it but his talent is clear. Since he did mostly historical scenes, I suspect a classical image with female nudes would be worth looking at.

Without wading through cesspool segments of the internet I gather from bits dropped here at the HQ that Gatz had lots of pretty coeds dating him. Garland and the deep state tried to manufacture a case that Gatz was involved with underage girls, even trafficking them but they failed to plant any evidence, or possibly they were just too lazy and figured the rumor would be enough to rid them of Gatz since conservatives are so puritanical.
Of course the usual concern trolls on the right are clutching their pearls and saying picking Gatz is another yuuge mistake by DJT. Posted by: PaleRider at November 14, 2024 10:33 AM (zYCTH) 285

266 I saw a separate report that the Senate GOP is pretty much resigned to Trump running the show.
------- Perhaps. But I just can't imagine a scenario would the Senate GOP would back Trump against their own grift. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice --------- The GOP Senate used its own former member, Jeff Sessions, to sign off on a years long fake investigation of teh Russia Russia hoax, they then pivoted to impeachment theater involving Ukraine which was also fake fake fake. Essentially, the GOP Senate used the threat of impeachment and imprisonment to prevent Trump from attacking their traitorous grift and the perverts among them like Lady Lindsay, Lankford, etc. Pence was their insurance policy if they could bring down PDT. All of those failed as did the more serious Dem attacks in the Biden era, the massive cheat in 2020 where the GOP was complicit, the Jan 6 conspiracy failed with another impeachment, etc. Now the Senate GOP has exhausted most of its tools and destroyed its own cover. Vance is not an insurance policy and Glitch himself is a decaying shell of a man like Biden. We shall see what they shall do and Thune himself probably doesn't know. But a gaggle of old, stale fart Senators mumbling and droolling about "muh traditions and teh decourms" is going to slow that firestorm? Ed Whelan @EdWhelanEPPC
Hope it's wrong, but I'm hearing through the grapevine about this bonkers plan: Trump would adjourn both Houses of Congress under Article II, section 3, and then recess-appoint his Cabinet. As predicate for Trump's exercise of adjournment power, one House of Congress would seek other House's consent to adjourn and be denied. So Speaker of House would need to be complicit in evisceration of Senate's advice-and-consent role. Ed Whelan @EdWhelanEPPC House Speaker Mike Johnson needs to say NO to this right away. alexandriabrown @alexthechick Say no to what? Your Sources Say lie? Name. The. Names. As for the special election here to fill Gaetz's seat, FL-1 is the most Republican district in the state – R+19 or something like that.
Last month, Gaetz beat his Democrat challenger by a two-to-one margin, even though Gaetz did practically zero advertising in the district. There is zero chance a Democrat is going to win the special election. I suspect DeSantis is going to endorse State Rep. Michelle Salzman. As for the age thing, Trump is doing it right. These people aren't children, or mummies. They're in the Goldilocks zone - old enough to know better, and young enough to live in our current reality.

Reading this am on the InfoWars saga. Jones bankruptcy triggered the sale of Infowars name logo, equipment, motor home, studio etc. All told Jones had assets of around five or $6 million. Bankruptcy court had an auction company provide an Anonymous auction and the winner is The Onion. their plan is to shut down anything related to info wars and use the platform to rebrand into A comedy and humor type site. Everytown USA has announced that they will be the exclusive advertisers, focusing on ridding the world of gun manufactures and gun violence. Meanwhile, the Sandy Hook parents and lawyers are now fighting over who’s gonna divvy up the $6 million which is all they’re getting out of their $1.6 billion judgment

393 A lot of people are bent about Gaetz deposing Kevin McCarthy.
Posted by: blaster ======== Far too much of the media on the right is tied up in trying to prop up failing institutions and failed politicians because they are there. The converse to Chesterton's fence is that institutions that we do understand are now destroyed by the left outside and grifters inside do not need propping up by the right. Newt Gingrich instituted a 6 year term limit on committee chairs (only for the GOP btw as an internal caucus rule) in part to prevent those committee chairs from thwarting his big ideas on reform. That centralized power in the House with the leadership. The problem came when unprincipled corrupt and criminal leaders like "Coach" became Speaker and later followed by drunkard and disloyal Boehner (part of the coup against Gingrich btw as a backbencher), followed by Paul Ryan who demonstrated he hated the GOP voters and Trump by his actions 2016-2018. So, Gaetz topping McCarthy (ethics violator with Luntz and prior to that his relationship with Renee Elmers, is a perfect example of the converse of Chesterton's thesis. Gaetz was right about McCarthy, as proven by the fact that McCarthy resigned soon after being deposed as speaker. What a douche-nozzle.

Anecdotally, Trump's most effective ad was "Kamala is for they/them. Trump is for you". A lot of moderates have said that that line is what swung them.

People were CONVINCED that in house drama in Congress would tank the entire presidential race for Trump almost a year later.
People need to understand that 99.9% of what happens in DC doesn't matter politically. Good or bad, no one gives a shit outside of dedicated partisans. Posted by: TheJamesMadison ======= Too many rah rah GOP types do not realize that the party as a whole has an image problem and it is only that the Dems have went batshit crazy that leads people who just desperately want a norman life for them and their kids to vote for the corrupt, venal, and nasty GOPe. Trump has a constituency because he fights. GOP by and large have no constituency because no hill is worth dying for for them. So you get GOPe types like the Governor of Wyoming trying to protect trannyism there becuz medical industry wants that revenue. And so on. Posted by: whig at November 14, 2024 11:14 AM (ctrM5) 446

Posted by: Kindltot ======= I was informed that Trump was a poopyhead and his lack of early ads spending ,with a bunch of former GOP strategists saying so on Fox, doomed him to defeat. The stupidity and venality on their parts is that whatever you may think of Trump--the guy is demonstrably a branding genius. Posted by: whig at November 14, 2024 11:17 AM (ctrM5) 448

Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you're using?
I'm looking to start my own blog soon but I'm having a difficult time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I'm looking for something completely unique. P.S My apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!
